Warning: Don't Be Stupid and Sign Up For DVD Store Cards Like I Did.

Sooo this is a warning against being nice and signing up for cards at stores you don't go to because they tend to charge you!

In October I was at the mall and I bought a couple of DVDs at the store FYE and the girl there talked me into signing up for their card. She said it would be free to start and that you could cancel the card within the next few days blah blah blah you get a big discount on today's purchase. I mean the girl wasn't really nice about it, she was kind of pushy in fact but I felt bad. I've been there before, I know how much pressure stores put on you for signing up for their cards and things, so I figured why not. I never shop at FYE, so I'll just cancel it when they send me the email. No problem.

They never sent me an email to cancel it. So I never did. And it recently started charging me $12 a month for this stupid thing. There is no option to cancel it on their website, so I have to call the number on the card to get customer service where I'll probably be on hold most of the day.

Worst thing ever! It's not like I shop there, its not like there are any FYE's in my area, I don't even like FYE. I think it's stupid to pay $12 a month for something you aren't even going to use every month... cause really how many people buy that many DVDS a month that they need to pay $12 to save a lot of money on this? I probably saved about $3 when I signed up for the card and I got chard at least $36 for it! Bullshit!

And I said I don't think the girl waiting on me was all that nice... but she probably didn't know that this would happen. She's not in charge of the company or anything, she just works at the store.

So yeah. Don't be stupid about that! Just say no if you don't want the card. If you think the card will pay for itself, great! Sign up for it! I have an AMC Stubs card, its $12 up front, they don't take out anything extra and I got like $30-$40 in rewards last year, which is pretty awesome. And there are other perks. The perks for the FYE card are not nearly as good and it definitely isn't worth $12 a month. The card says save 10% all day every day... that is not a good deal. You would have to buy a lot of DVDs to save over $144!

I also hate that it doesn't call itself a credit card or anything like that. It calls itself a Rewards Card, so I would think that that's free, and it sounded like it would be every day.

Sooo yeah. Don't be nice, don't be stupid and don't sign up for cards unless you know you're going to use them. It's all a scam. The world is a bad place.

Byeee!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
