Weekly Wrap Up- 1.31.16 (featuring pictures of Mulder and Scully)

Favorites  The X Files- So I was nervous about this... but also excited and I did a whole review on the premiere... but it needed a shout out here too because it was really good and I loved it honestly. It was good and I just like it being back on. Check out my review  here . The Hamilton Soundtrack- I've been talking about this one a lot too... but the music is so good! I mentioned loving Apple Music last week and I feel like I'm trying to get into other cds... but this one is just so good! I want to eventually see it live... but if I can't I feel like I have a good grasp of the characters from this musical. And I think its pretty accurate. I kind of wonder if Hamilton really wrote Anjelica a letter that said My Dearest, Angelica instead of My Dearest Angelica... that seems like it could have happened.I don't know... so that was good. Periscope- This is weird... but a pretty fun app! There are some people I follow on youtube that go on Periscope and they hang out...

Scribbles About TV: The X Files Season 10 Premiere

So I wasn't sure if this was being considered a revival, but on my tv it says "Season 10 episode 1" so I'm going with Season 10. As you guys may know, I love The X Files. I think the show is awesome. Its really kind of a powerful feminist show if you really watch it. Dana Scully is one of the first really strong female characters I've seen in any tv show and it still holds up. I've seen every episode, but I haven't seen them all recently... I've only seen up to Musings of a Cigarette Smoking Man recently... lol. And I didn't love the second movie and the show wasn't as good in its last few seasons as it was in its prime... but honestly the last few seasons were not terrible. Season 7 had some good episodes... Season 8 I kind of liked actually and Season 9 not the worst... and I haven't seen those seasons recently but I feel like they are a little over-hated. I think if you watched a few episodes in those seasons they aren't terrible...

Why Mulder and Scully Make Sense as A Couple+ What I think of the new series

Alright, so in re-watching The X Files I've been trying to not view Mulder and Scully as a couple because I really wanted them to get together when I first watched it, but then in the 2nd movie I felt like there was kind of an issue with them being a couple. Idk I feel like they're still to vague about it. And here is my theory and it might be kind of a bummer... but basically I think they kind of have to be together because they can't actually be with anyone else. I don't think there is anyone else they will trust more than each other and I think there is no one else they will love more than each other and they can't be apart... so they need to be together. I feel like its very loving and beautiful that way... but also rather unromantic because they're more or less stuck with each other and I think... there's something to that. Something to them just being together because they have to that I appreciate. A lot of people say that they don't like them a...

Feminist Friday: Dana Scully: The 90's Most Awesome (and badass) Woman.

So new thing I'm doing here. Tryin to change it up a bit with a Feminist Friday. What is Feminist Friday? Basically Woman Crush Wednesday... but on a Friday. Lol. I didn't have this by Wednesday. So since I've been rewatching the X Files I've realized how completely awesome Scully is and I'm gonna break it down a little as to why I think she's the coolest. She is never really Glamorized or Sexualized the way that other women on TV are  Gillian Anderson is absolutely gorgeous. She was about my age when they started the show I think, which is weird to think of. And it would have made a little bit of sense to have her be the super hot super young FBI agent and it would have made sense... but they showed her as a really real agent. She gets her hands dirty, she isn't in like a beauty patent or something, she's an actual real agent as much as Mulder is. Its something that they make a point not to do with Scully. And every once and a while it'll come ...
