Scribbles About Food: Shannon Eats Steak! Moonstruck!

So... this might seem like a big deal... but I haven't eaten steak in a really long time. My parents LOVE steak and they gave it to me so often as a kid I just got tired of it... and I've only had it a few times in the past... 15 years maybe? I've had Chicken fried steak- which is really good. My dad got a hibachi recently and made hibachi steak that I liked. My friend's fiance made some steak kabobs recently also... and I liked that... so I just kind of wanted to venture into eating steak again because I'm getting a little tired of chicken. And there's a really good restaurant in Asbury called Moonstruck... and I thought that would be a good time to try some. My parents really love their steak- I love their food and I've realized this is a good place to try new things... so I got it... and I'll review the appetizer and dessert I had also! Appetizer  We always pretty much order the same appetizers... this time we only ordered the one appetizer whic...

Scribbles About Food: Pop's Garage

So this is a long overdue post! I went to Pops garage a couple of times... once I had Quesadillas and they were delicious... this time I got a Chimichanga and it was Cinco de Mayo (actually Cinco de Quatro, but you know I'm secretly Lucielle Bluth so it's all the same. Lol.) so of corse I got a Margarita! Let's get right into it! I'm going to start off with the Chips and Guac. I don't have a picture of these... but it was really good. It wasn't too spicy, it was flavorful and fresh and it just tasted really yummy. They didn't give a ton and there weren't too many chips with it either... but it was still enough to share. I was in a group with 5 girls and we were all getting big dinners too... so we were hungry, but we needed room for dinner and our desserts... so yeah. It was plenty lol. The chips were good too... they were thick and not too salty. Next up: My Margarita!!! I got the Island Margarita because it sounded coconutty and that's what I w...

March 2017 It List!

1) Trial and Error- This is such a funny show! I highly recommend it if you love Murder Mysteries, or if you like Parks and Rec or Arrested Development... this show is a lot like those 2 shows... so I think it's really great because those are my 2 favorite shows of all time. Sherri Shepherd is really great in it. John Lithgow and Jayma Mays are really funny... it's just a great show all around! 2) Beauty and The Beast- I saw this movie in theaters and it's definitely my favorite of the new Disney Live Action remakes! I actually liked it more than the cartoon because it explained things that the cartoon didn't explain! I thought they did a great job! It was a fun one to see in theaters too... and my mom and I saw the Imax 3d version... it was gorgeous! Highly recommend! 3) Divide by Ed Sheeran- I've been listening to this NON STOP! It's just so good, really different... and at the end of it, it doesn't seem like you just listened to a CD, it sounds like y...

Scribbles About Food: Appetizers, Cajun Chicken Littles and Georgia Peach Drink

So I've done this before with the Brunch Menu from Cheesecake Factory... and usually the cheesecake factory menu is a little overwhelming... so I figure if I feel like reviewing food from there... I'll review the food there. Lol. So this was for my birthday and there were a lot of people there... so we ordered a couple of appetizers... so I'll start off there and then go to my entrée and drink. Appetizer  So the thing I always really like is the Fried Mac and Cheese. They come out in these huge rice ball- looking things, but there is delicious Mac and Cheese on the inside. Its really good... even better than I remembered. I'm not sure what types of cheeses were in there... I think there was some cheese I didn't normally eat in it... but it was fried... so it was still pretty good! I'd get this again. The nachos were a little bit of a different kind of chip... Not what I was expecting, but I kind of liked it because it didn't get soggy. The cheese and ...

Scribbles About Food: Caribou Coffee Sea Salt Caramel Iced Coffee

I started drinking this... and I just figured why not do a scribbles about food on this. I'm almost done with it. I think this is something that is more of a "healthy" option compared to some other iced coffee drinks at the grocery store... like the Starbucks ones. I've tried a lot of other iced coffee drinks so I wanted to give this one a try. Maybe its a better option. "No High Fructose Corn Syrup, artificial flavors, or preservatives."... Okay... nevermind this being a "healthy option." On the back the nutritional info says that 1 bottle is about two servings... so it is 150 calories for one serving... which isn't bad. But for the bottle its 260 calories... which is kind of ridiculous. I don't think its a ridiculous amount of calories... but come on. This isn't something you're going to keep in the fridge after drinking half of it... this is something you're going to drink all at once. So... that's a little sneaky mar...

Scribbles About Food: Hi-C Ecto Cooler

This is an exciting scribble. I never drank this as a kid... I wouldn't eat or drink anything green... but I always regretted not trying this because people my age and older love this... People are still talking about this! It was made for Ghostbusters originally... and they kept it for several years after that... so people must have loved it! I really like it too. It tastes like a juice version of Sprite kind of. It is only 10% juice... but I really think the flavor is good and its really yummy. I like it a lot! If you are of legal age and like a good drink, I'd recommend a shot of cake or vanilla flavored vodka in this. I think even if you don't drink, some vanilla extract might make this a little better. Its good, but it feels like it needs a little extra sweetness when its plain, which is where the cake vodka comes in. My sister drank it plain and said she liked it but thought it needed something and she could see the cake vodka improving it. I didn't really h...

Scribbles About Food: The Pink Drink

So I heard about this pink drink a while ago... its a strawberry Acai Refresher with Coconut Milk instead of water. Its a not-so-secret menu item... I didn't totally love it or hate it. I first tried it I was like "wow... thats a lot of strawberry flavor" it was strong and really good! But after a while, it gets to be a little much. And there's kind of an aftertaste... so there's that too. It wasn't bad, and I'll probably order it again because its probably better for you than a lot of other drinks, and sometimes regular milk just isn't great for me... so I think I could probably order this again and be happy with it. Its a nice, cool refreshing drink... so its pretty okay. Also... keep this in mind when ordering anything strawberry... there are bugs in strawberry items. Lol. It was on the Colbert Report... in the Starbucks Strawberry frap there are bugs... red dye #5 or something contains bugs... so thats always in the back of my head with anythin...

The Weekly Wrap Up- 1/10/16

Favorites  Chex Mix Snickerdoodle Muddy Buddies- I'm not a huge fan of peanut butter Muddy Buddies... but these snicker doodle flavored ones are pretty amazing! I got these in my stocking... I'm not sure if they were a favorite before... but I like them a lot and... yeah. If you can find these, pick them up cause they delicious! Justin Bieber- When the hell did Justin Bieber get good? He's not like soo good that I'm obsessed with him or anything... but I don't turn him off when he's on the radio because his songs are just so good! I ranted a little bit about the One Direction song... which is also pretty good... but Justin Bieber got good! I wasn't crazy about What Do You Mean... But I think Love Yourself is so clever and awesome. I feel like I have to mention him at some point during the week. As it turns out though... still an ass! We'll talk about that in the news portion. He's been Un-favorited... lol. Fulton's Pumpkin Pie Cream Liquor- ...

Scribbles About Food: Costco Food Haul

So... I didn't really know what to post today, but my mom and I just went to Costco and got some food mostly of the snack variety... I'm tryin to keep it healthy... but lets be real here... it doesn't all work out that way. Lol. So the thing that is the most on the healthy side that we got is actually the reason why we went to Costco to begin with and that is the Goodness Knows Very Cranberry bars. These are awesome. They're filling enough that if I don't have time for breakfast or lunch, I grab one of these and I'm good to go. Its also a great dark chocolate flavor. Its made by Mars, who also make Dove dark chocolates and it tastes similar to the dove fruit with dark chocolate. I'm not a big dark chocolate fan, but I do really enjoy this dark chocolate and the dove dark chocolate. It is 150 calories... which isn't the lowest calorie snack that you can have... but for me these are more of a meal and they're filling that way. They also do break the ...

Scribbles About Food: Starbucks Birthday Cake Frappuccino

OMG guys this exists... and I don't even know how to describe it other than you want it in your life. And its not even like its the most mind-numbingly delicious drink I've ever had... but its pretty frickin amazeballs and you need it in your life. When I drink it I feel like 50 times more adorable because its cute and pink and I can post it on instagram and then people like it... but it isn't just its cuteness that makes it something you need in your life... When I drink it I feel like thats the empty hole in my heart has been filled. Filled with yum and birthday cake and cold and raspberry whipped cream... which HOLY CRAP IT HAS RASPBERRY WHIPPED CREAM! How is this not something you want in your life. And then after its gone... I get kind of sad because thats it. Its over and done with and I can't get another one until Starbucks and I meet again. I guess thats what true love feels like... You know like when they say you just leave a person and you miss them alre...

Scribbles about Food: Ranking of Starbucks Holiday Lattes

This is my ranking of the Holiday Beverages... I feel like my answers may be controversial... but this is what I think. 7) Salted Caramel- Not gonna lie, this used to be wayyy higher on the list, but I had it with one of their chocolate brownies one time... and it was just wayyyy too much. I'm not one that thinks things are too sweet or chocolatey or rich... but this was wayyy wayyy too much. It made me a little sick. I don't think I can have the Salted Caramel Mocha or hot chocolate again... but I want to try Dunkins... lol. 6) Peppermint Mocha- Good but I really have to be in the mood for this one. White mocha peppermint is really good too. I just don't usually pick this one. 5) Caramel Brulee - This is a really good and flavorful flavor. Its a little more flavorful than the Chestnut or the Gingerbread... but its just like a regular Caramel Latte with some flakeys on top. It loses some points for not being Christmasy enough. 4) Chestnut Praline- I was so impressed...

November 2014: It List

1) Yes Please by Amy Poehler-  Amy Poehler has a book now! And it is kind of amazing! Not kind of, really amazing and funny and really good. This will probably take me a little longer to read because its too big for me to bring on the train... plus I like extending reading these books so that I can feel like I'm bffs with these women for a long time. Lol. I love Amy Poehler and I love that she has a really funny book out. 2) Horns by Joe Hill -  I just finished this book and did a review on it... I loved it. I also did a review on the movie... didn't love that so much, but the book is really detailed and had lots of twists and just kept me interested all around. It was so sooo good. It's my kind of horror book because it had a little bit of everything. There was humor, some science fiction elements, a mystery that was very real. The end was really cool. Overall great book! 3) Jiff Whips Pumpkin Spice- This is delicious. It's a peanut butter spread that tastes like P...

Halloween 2014 It List!

I wanted to share my Halloween favorites... but I thought why not do it like an It List... so that is what we have here today. 1) American Horror Story- I think we all know one of my favorites around this time of year especially is AHS... the episode this week was sooo soo good too. The legend of the guy with the demon face... I just thought it was particularly interesting. Not a lot of Twisty the clown, which I'm fine with... lol. It was still scary and really good all around though. All the seasons have fantastic halloween episodes especially. And season 1&3 are just good all around. 2) Addams Family Values- I love a good halloween movie, but Addams Family Values has to be my favorite ever. It is probably in my Top 10 favorite movies of all time... and I just think its super super funny. The first one is good too, but this is one of the rare movies where the sequel is wayyy better. Joan Cusak is amazing in it and you can tell she must have had a great time being the bad g...

Sugar Cookie Egg Nog = Nectar From The Gods

If you have never had Hood Sugar Cookie Egg Nog... stop reading this right now, go online and find where the nearest grocery store is that has it, and buy it right this second. It is seriously the best thing in the entire world! Okay that might be an exaggeration... let me try some and see. I'll be right back... No, it is not! Obviously, this is only sold around Christmas time because Egg Nog is seasonal and whatnot, but this is one of those things that I think of during the summer and stuff like that and I will want it right then and there. Hood has a lot of other good Egg Nog flavors too, they have Gingerbread Cookie which is really good, Pumpkin which is okay, and their regular egg nog is good (its what Starbucks uses I believe). The Sugar Cookie one is my personal favorite. If you don't like Egg Nog, this actually tastes quite different than Egg Nog. It's a lot more like a milk shake with a cookie like taste, so I would give it a taste if you aren't a fan of nog. ...

Favorites of the moment

I love watching favorites videos but I'm far too lazy to make videos... so I'm just gonna write a little bit about everything here. Normally I do a tumblr post on these, but I've kind of told Tumblr all of my favorites so I'm going to talk about it here. Make Up I bought kind of a lot of stuff this month... so I have quite a few favorites here. Wet n' Wild Color Icons trios- So I was super SUPER impressed with these! They're really pigmented and really soft and they're so nice. They're something that I would probably pay a lot of money for regularly because they're so high quality... and guess what? THEY ARE LESS THAN $4!  So exciting right? I got the trio in Silent Treatment and they have one color that is similar to Stila's Kitten... which is also a super pretty shade. Maybeline Baby Lips Dr. Rescue-  I've never tried the Baby Lips before, and idk why really. I had a lot of good lip balms and I didn't really feel the need to buy ...

Does Anyone Remember Snapple Pie?

Ahhhh Snapple Pie. The best flavor of Snapple that has ever existed. This drink was limited edition and  honestly the fact that it doesn't exist anymore bothers me wayyy to much. I think about this quite a lot, especially around Thanksgiving... and I friggin wish that Snapple would bring it back.  What is Snapple Pie you may ask? It's a limited edition flavor of snapple that tasted like pie flavors. I think they only had an Apple Pie one and a Mixed Berry one. The Berry one tasted like soap, but the Apple Pie one was amazing. Like you could actually taste Apple Pie just by drinking it and it was wonderful. It seems like it would be weird, but for some reason I really loved the flavor because it was very intense. You could taste the different textures and the crust. It was a really layered flavor like a fine wine, except it was cheap and you can buy it at the grocery store and it had no alcohol in it.  Now the sad thing is, I tell myself every year "Snapple will com...
