Movies "Coming Soon" Summer 2018!

So if you guys don't know the website  IMDB ... they are the database for movies. If you have any sort of movie or tv show question- this is the place to check it out. If you look under the "Movies, TV, and Showtimes" section it will show you what movies are coming out within the next year... these dates are subject to change... but I'm going to kind of talk about the ones that are most exciting! May  On May 4th the remake of Overboard with Ana Faris comes out. I don't know too much about this... but I love Ana Faris and I want to see the original Overboard... so this is interesting to me. Also on May 4th we have Diablo Cody and Jason Reitman's newest film Tully. This is about a nighttime nanny that helps a new mother with some post partum depression... it looks really good and powerful and I love Diablo Cody. On the 11th we have Life of The Party with Melissa McCarthy. This looks so funny. Melissa McCarthy plays a mom going through divorce who ends up...

Chart Chat 8.11-8.13.17

Alright! Let's jump in here! No real surprises this week... the #3 movie surprised me a little bit... but we'll get to that! 10) Atomic Blonde- Charlize Theron looks really awesome and badass in this summer action movie. The budget for this was 30,000,000... which honestly isn't that high for an Action movie. In the US It's made 42 million so far... I'm guessing it's slowly leaving theaters now... and I think it'll do really well worldwide. I thought this would do a little better... but it isn't the biggest movie out there and I don't think it had the critical praise of something like Baby Driver... which was a surprise hit and was out for quite a while. I'd still like to see this one. 9) The Glass Castle- I think this got relatively "meh" reviews... it didn't sound like that bad of a movie to me though... and there are quite a few stars in it. Brie Larson, Woody Harrelson... I'm a fan of both of them... kind of sort of I gu...

Alrighty! Let's see What is up in Hollywood this week!  There are some surprises I think! 10) Ben Hur- This fell quite a bit! Its opening wasn't a great success last week... but I'm a little surprised it is so low on the list this week. I think most people think "Okay, this looks boring and has no plot. If I really wanted to, I should just watch the original. And it's just getting horrible reviews... so I'll save my money and not see this." And yeah... pretty much. That's what I feel about a lot of movies. Action movies like this tend to do pretty well oversees, so I think it'll do fine... but still for the budget of this movie... no. 9)Jason Bourne - This is Jason Bourne's 5th week on the charts... and its maintained a pretty high number on the charts throughout the week. Matt Damon won't go out without a fight! Lol. But yeah. Fun American spy movie... not my favorite, but it could be one day if I'm really feeling like an action mo...

Scribbles About Movies: Mini Movie Reviews- March 2016- May 2016

So I think I'm going to challenge myself to watching 1 movie every week. Why? I was reading entertainment weekly and they weighed in on the Oscars controversy saying that they didn't quite think that a lot of the older, male voters would watch "Straight Outta Compton" because "It wasn't really their type of movie." My Grandfather is 85 years old and he saw Straight Outta Compton and liked it, even though it isn't really "his type of movie." He goes to the movies every week with my uncle and they'll see whatever's playing... not just what's interested... and I figure if they can do it, I can do it and the Academy should be able to do it as well. I'm not going to actually go to the theaters to do it, I'm just going to see whats on TV or things that I haven't seen that I own on DVD or something and watch it. If its a movie I've seen before and can remember... for the time being I'm probably not going to includ...

Scribbles About Movies: Trailer Reviews! Swiss Army Man, Bad Moms, You Before Me and More!

Figured I'd do another trailer review cause I love Daniel Radcliffe... and I wanted to see how weird this Swisss Army Man trailer was... Swiss Army Man Trailer - This is kinda weird... its a little more normal than I expected to be honest. So Daniel Radcliffe plays a dead guy... and Paul Dano uses his flatulence as a propellor to get him to land... and then he continues being a useful tool for Dano's character I guess. His penis is a compass or something... it sounds like a pretty weird movie... totally want to watch it! The BFG - I always think BFG stands for Big Effing Giant... and then remember its a kids book so its not Effing... its friendly. So now I guess I'll just say Friendly instead of Effing. Lol. Bill Hader is in this... I kinda have a crush on him... so that's cool. I feel like I'm a little old for this one. It looks great, if you have young kids, totally seems like a fun family movie... but probably not for me! The Legend of Tarzan  So I kinda ...

Scribbles About Movies: Trailer Reviews! Finding Dory and Ghostbusters

So I used to do these a lot... and I haven't done one since the My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 trailer... but 2 important movies are coming up... so why not! Finding Dory  If you want to know what I'm talking about you can watch the trailer right  here . I love Finding Nemo. Its one of my favorite Pixar movies... and probably just one of my favorite movies. This is one of those movies that I can watch any time its on and just always enjoy. And this seems like the way to do a sequel for it. In the original, Dory mentions that she has a family... but she doesn't know where they are. She also talks in her sleep... and now she's started sleep-swimming and she remembers where she came from and she has to find her family. I like that this really plays off the original movie, but its about a character we know and love already and I think it will be a fun one to watch. Its a good follow up and I think the original movie is so loved and so good that it will seem like no tim...

Chart Chat! August 24th, 2015

I haven't done one of these in a while and they're quite fun! So lets start! Music  iTunes Top 5  5) Drag Me Down by One Direction- Of corse a One Direction song is #5! Its a new song though so I think it will creep up the charts quite fast. Let me hear the sample on iTunes... Its pretty good. Zane was the hottest so it is sad that he's not part of the band anymore... but its still pretty good and he supports the band still and tweeted that he was proud of his boys! It sounds quite a bit like Maroon 5... different for One D... but still good. Pretty good. 4) Watch Me (Whip/ Nae Nae) by Silento- Not sure if this is just a terrible sample... but this is definitely one of the 5 worst songs of all time I'd be safe to say... yep probably in the top 3. I really hate it. This is annoying as hell. When I started the preview it just said "Now do the stanky leg. Now Do the stanky leg." like 5 times and then it just got worse. This is unironically horrible and I ...

Scribbles About Movies: Guardians of the Galaxy Review!

I'm not a huge fan of Marvel movies, I hated the Iron Man movies, I liked The Avengers... But that is about it, but I really wanted to see this movie and I'm so happy I did. I liked that the previews made it look like this was more of a comedy than an action movie, I love Chris Pratt and i really wanted to see him in this. It's just great all around.  Something I liked a lot about this movie was that it starts off super interesting right away. In a lot of Super Hero movies, the first movie is usually a huge origin story and it takes a while to get to what's really going on in the movie. This still kind of had an origin story... But the origin story was super interesting. It's an action filled movie from the very start.  It also doesn't take itself too seriously. Like in Transformers... No one is like "hey it's kind of absurd that these cars are really alien robots" but in Guardians they're like "there is a talking raccoon and a talking tre...

Tammy Review!

I was super excited about this movie because I'm a huge fan of Melissa McCarthy, I love Mark Duplass, I think Susan Sarandon is surprisingly funny and even though the trailer and title don't give a lot about this movie away, it just seemed like a super funny and fun movie. The movie started out on a funny note: Melissa McCarthy in a car singing along to the song Your Love and then she hits a deer. The deer doesn't die but it made me snort in the beginning. It was just funny and right off the bat, it seemed like a movie you can watch years from now and still find funny. It's like Superbad and The Hangover in that aspect sort of: it already felt nostalgic before it started. I was super happy that Melissa McCarthy was the lead of this movie, because as funny as she is she is usually just the wacky sidekick or more of like a co-lead. Although I think this is still kind of a co-lead movie for her and Susan Sarandon, and McCarthy does play a very wacky character, Susan ...
