Scribbles About Movies: Trailer Reviews! Finding Dory and Ghostbusters

So I used to do these a lot... and I haven't done one since the My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 trailer... but 2 important movies are coming up... so why not!

Finding Dory
If you want to know what I'm talking about you can watch the trailer right here.

I love Finding Nemo. Its one of my favorite Pixar movies... and probably just one of my favorite movies. This is one of those movies that I can watch any time its on and just always enjoy.

And this seems like the way to do a sequel for it. In the original, Dory mentions that she has a family... but she doesn't know where they are. She also talks in her sleep... and now she's started sleep-swimming and she remembers where she came from and she has to find her family.

I like that this really plays off the original movie, but its about a character we know and love already and I think it will be a fun one to watch. Its a good follow up and I think the original movie is so loved and so good that it will seem like no time has passed at all! I'm excited for this one!

Ghostbusters
Alright... if you look under the comments on youtube... you're going to get angry because people are sexist pigs... so if you're not sexist... You might get angry.

So I think this movie looks awesome! I think the cast is really funny... Kate McKinnon wrote the script, Paul Feig is directing... they are both awesome... people just seem to be super against this movie for no good reason.

That being said... I wanted to love the trailer a little more than I did. I thought the effects and everything were cool and I'm glad that there is a 2016 ghostbusters movie... that makes sense to me. Especially with Paranormal stuff being so high.

And I'm glad its with women. Mindy Kaling wrote in her book that she wants an all female Ghostbusters and I was like "wow there are so many awesome female comedians and comedy actresses... that is a brilliant idea." And it still is. They remake Spiderman every few years... why not Ghostbusters after 30 years... Just calm down. Lol.

Anyway... I feel like my review of this trailer is unfair because I didn't 100% love it... but I think people are being stupid and close-minded about it... I have a lot of feelings about this movie... but basically, we get paid less then men, and women's items actually cost more than men's... so just let us have a ghostbusters. I think it'll be good. No one is expecting it to be the best movie of all time... Just let us have a stinkin' ghostbusters!

And if you want to watch the trailer cause my opinion is a little mixed on the trailer you can watch it for yourself right here.

Byeee!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
