Bridesmaids Diaries: Dance Lessons-1

So yesterday was my first dance lessons! My family are all really really horrible dancers. Elaine from Seinfeld looks really good compared to us... so we were all kind of dreading this.

And honestly... not the worst thing! I actually had fun, I think my parents and the bride and groom had fun too. I didn't have an actual partner, so the instructor was my partner... and I think I did a little better than all of them because of that... lol. My parents told me I did a really good job and I said "its because I had a professional instead of one of you idiots!" They thought that was funny.

The instructor was really good too. These are real teachers and they're really really good. They'll tell you how to do something and then they'll start talking to you and you'll just sort of do it without really noticing. So that's the best way to do it.

The one thing I tried not to do was look at my feet. You're supposed to look at your partner and not at your feet... and that's hard. For a little while I had to look at my feet because it was just wayyy too hard not to. And that's okay when you start. My instructor tried asking me questions and talking to me so that I wouldn't look at my feet, and that really really helped. I kind of ended up looking in the mirrors of the studio... which helped a little more.

Also pay attention to left vs. right. For me it felt really unnatural when he was saying start with your right foot, and then he went to "okay now start by stepping back on your left... so just sort of try to know directions. Lol. Its hard when you have to think about "this is my left, this is my right" and my left foot isn't all that great because of ankle injuries... but yeah. It was alright. It was hard to get the hang of it in my practice session, but its really fun once you do.

So yeah... even if you're just in the wedding party or the bridal party, I would recommend getting dance lessons. Its even fun just for a date night, my parents looked like they were having a lot of fun and they were really nervous at first. So that was fun for them too. I think everyone really liked it even if we're not the best dancers in the world.

If you're in the Central Jersey Area and you want a good recommendation you can message me on google plus I guess and I will tell you what it is? I guess. lol. Idk. I'm not a location-discloser. I actually won a radio contest yesterday too and they asked where I was calling from and I didn't want to totally disclose my location when they asked where I was calling from... so I just told them where I was from... which makes no sense. Lol. But yeah I won a radio contest! I guess I can scribble about that too... it was nothing big, just some cookies and candy... but thats really exciting still! Lol.

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...
