Bridesmaids Diaries: Things To Do When Your Friends Just Get Engaged

So these aren't any super amazing tips or anything... but it might be something helpful and nice! You know this is going to be a great blog when I'm like "So these tips aren't super amazing" lol. There isn't a lot out there for when people just get engaged... and a lot of people don't have engagement parties or anything anymore... not sure if my friend is having one or not, she just happened to throw a party a day or 2 after she got engaged... so I wanted to do a few things. First I was going to do this anyway... but I got her some fancy chocolates. These are a good gift for hosting parties, and I thought it would be something fun and a little different. Champagne is sort of the traditional gift... I thought somebody probably got them champagne already... so they might want some chocolates. I also got an engagement cards... there were not many of these at the Hallmark store... so these might kind of be hard to find. There might be a blank inside type o...

2016 It List

Here are all of my favorites of 2016... I bet you're going to be COMPLETELY shocked by #1... lol. Not really, It's Hamilton! 1) Hamilton- I don't remember the last time I was as into something as I am with Hamilton... especially music related. I listened to the entire soundtrack... most days of the year last year. I started liking it at the beginning of the year too... and now at the end of the year I'm still just as obsessed... if not even more obsessed because I'm actually seeing it in January... which I still can't even believe. To say I'm excited would be the biggest understatement of 2016... I'm beyond that... It's just the best. The soundtrack and the Mixtape are the best music... ever? Maybe... lol. I love it! 2) Coloring Books- I'm also surprised that I like coloring books as much as I do... I thought it was a little silly when I first heard of it... but its so relaxing and satisfying to see the end result of your coloring pages... it...

Bridesmaid Diaries: The Last Few Days

So I mentioned the Rehearsal Dinner, and then there were 2 days until the wedding... so I figured I'd talk about what we did those 2 days. Thursday was the rehearsal dinner, Sunday was the wedding, Friday and Saturday were the "Bonus Days", which I would just say take your time and enjoy. Do something fun and relaxing for yourself. Have some fun! Friday  Friday was fun! Stacey and I went to the Salon near us, which is Spa Disneyworld... they have everything! Stacey stayed there a little earlier and got a facial. I went later and got a manicure and pedicure... and it was the best. Lol. My feet have been feeling so much better since that pedicure, I swear! They blistered a little bit at the wedding, but it didn't hurt to wear I couldn't walk the next day because of that pedicure it was amazing! They put a hot neck pillow on your neck and a cooled eye mask on while they were doing the pedicure... so nice. And we got a gel french manicure... it was just really ni...

Bridesmaid Diaries: The Rehearsal and Rehearsal Dinner

So this was a really fun night! I really enjoyed both the rehearsal and the dinner, we had a great time. The rehearsal itself only took a few minutes. We were at the restaurant for the dinner very early. They told us how to walk and what we were supposed to do, and it was nice and easy. The venue had a Maitre D that was basically the wedding planner and she told us what to do. The one thing that kind of didn't really work out was what they said to do with the flowers and fluffing the dress. Fluffing dresses is not easy to do in heels, and they told me to hand my flowers to the other bridesmaid, hold the brides flowers and then return them to the bride and then get my bouquet back. The bride and groom held hands during the ceremony... so I was holding the brides bouquet. So yeah... that was the only slightly different thing. So that was all easy and for the dinner we went to a pizza place that we go to every week more or less... so they know us and we're regulars. And the fo...

Bridesmaid Diaries: Choosing Bridesmaids+ Flower Girls and How to ask

So this one seems pretty simple, and again its kind of more of a personal preference type of thing picking out who your bridesmaids are and why you want them! Know How Big of a Bridal Party You Want  Sometimes people want a really big bridal party including all of their friends, and thats great! But sometimes people just want to keep it smaller, which is also great! Its about you and what you want to do and if you think the people that you're choosing as your bridesmaids will be happy with that.  If you have a lot of friends but don't want a big bridal party, either way your friends should have a fun time as a guest of the wedding and you can still invite them to bachelorette parties and bridal showers and have a good time with them. Don't pay too much attention to the amount of groomsmen  It doesn't really matter if the amount of Bridesmaids you have is different than the amount of groomsmen. If you have like 16 bridesmaids and like 2 groomsmen... thats one thi...

Bridesmaid Diaries: Picking A Venue

Alright... so this isn't really something the bridesmaid has anything to do with... but I'll let you know anyway because there is a lot of stuff that goes into booking a venue and... its something you don't really hear a lot about... so I'm just going to let you know here. So I never realized that picking a venue and picking a date go hand in hand. Venue's get booked up A LOT so if you're going in planning a Saturday Wedding in June... not that likely to happen. The movie I think that got it pretty right is Bride Wars. The Plaza in June??? No. Not likely. And weekends are always the most popular time for a wedding... obviously so Saturdays are usually booked up. If you're having a lot of out-of- town people, Saturdays are probably the easiest... but Sundays aren't like a major inconvenience or anything. Plus the Saturday option for my sister was earlier in the day, so they would need to make sure everyone was out because there would be another wedding ...

Bridesmaid Diaries: First Bridal Event

So the venue that my sister and her fiancé are getting married at just recently had an event that was open to the public to sort of show off the venue and a lot of different wedding vendors were there. There was a flute player outside, a local jewelry store was there, some djs, florists, make up and spa things, photographers, people were walking around in dresses from different bridal shops and boutiques with their hair and make up done by the hair and make up artist they recommend at the venue. They also had some food samplings that was from the venue, there was a slider and mac and cheese bar and a wok station and people going around with little appetizers. There was like a fruit and pretzel and cheese stations, there was an open bar...a lot was going on. What I thought of The Event  I loved it! There was a lot of stuff to do and see. It didn't go on too long. The food was really really good, service was nice and friendly. It gave some ideas for dresses... my sister ...
