El Camino: The Perfect Follow Up to Breaking Bad

The thing I don't love about the "reboot" types of movies and tv shows that we've been seeing lately is that you can only really "end" a series once. Harry Potter, for example... that had 7 great books and a perfect ending... and it isn't like I disliked the 8th play "The Cursed Child" but... in my opinion it added to much to the end of the original books and I didn't really like that. I was worried that something might happen to Jesse that would change the original ending of Breaking Bad- which I thought wrapped everything up perfectly. And Breaking Bad is probably my favorite TV Show other than the comedies that I watch all of the time. I really liked that they didn't kill Jesse Pinkman in the end of the series. In the Emmy's that year they even had a joke that Jesse Pinkman lived but the mother from How I Met Your Mother died. I was worried about Jesse as soon as I saw the trailer. So all of that being said though... this was...

Scribbles About TV: Black Mirror S4E1 USS Callister

Sooo I've only seen one episode of Black Mirror before... but this show tends to kind of stick with you... so I thought I would watch the newest season and do some reviews... I'm not really watching the show in order just because... idk. It's a little more like watching a movie than watching a tv show. This one I was really looking forward to because I feel like this is what I see all the time whenever I hear anyone talk about Black Mirror. It might just be because this is the first episode of the newest season...either way this looked like a fun one. This episode centers around Robert Daly- played by Breaking Bad's Jesse Plemmons. He is a video game developer that had the vision to create the video game... but his partner kind of gets more credit for it. This video game is a very intricate virtual reality game... you pretty much just see people gathered in a room laying around while they play it with something on their eyes to connect them to the world of the game....

Why Spoilers Suck (*INSIDE OUT SPOILERS* *HUNGER GAMES TRILOGY SPOILERS* *HARRY POTTER SPOILERS* BREAKING BAD SPOILERS** LORD OF THE RINGS SPOILERS* )

Alrighty... so here is a little sort of half rant... but mostly just factual 100% accurate information on why spoilers really really suck. I don't like seeing movies on opening night. Especially big movies like Star Wars. That doesn't mean I'm not into the hype... I'm just not into seeing movies at midnight in a tiny theater where people probably fart a lot. My movie theater doesn't have many seats, so the only option to really get a seat is to use fandango... which I don't mind... but still. Its just another thing. And I know there are a lot of people like me out there. Maybe you liked the movies when you were a kid, maybe you haven't seen them since you were a kid and maybe you want to re-watch them before a new one comes out. Maybe you never saw the movies but want to know what the fuss is about... maybe you have other things to do and just can't get to the movies right away... thats fine... So don't spoil it! I feel like this is becoming...

Hospital of the Living Dead: Pt. 1 (My attempt at fan Fiction)

Derek Shepherd woke up in a state of shock. He could see that he was on a hospital bed, in a very familiar looking hospital. "He's Awake" he heard a man's voice say. He knew that voice... it couldn't be... could it?  "Mark?"  Mark Sloan turned to Derek and said "What Up McDreamy?"  Derek was more confused than he's ever been in his life... he was pretty sure that he had died... but it looks like he's getting saved in a hospital... but also Mark Sloan is dead... so he doesn't fully get it. "Where am I? What is happening." Mark snickered "That is a long lonnng story man. But basically you're dead as a doornail. And this is what happens when characters on TV die." "What?" Derek was even more puzzled about this. "I'm a tv character?" "As it turns out yeah, we all are. I was pretty shocked at first too... but you get used to it. You see Derrick, to most people TV ...

Scribbles about TV: Better Call Saul Review!

So I'm going to do this review a little bit differently. I've already watched both episodes of Better Call Saul once... but I feel the need to watch them both again. So I'm going to go over my initial thoughts and then rewatch both episodes and write a more in depth review about these. Initial Thoughts:  I really loved the way that the show started out. It was really good start to finish and I thought the pilot was very strong and did not disappoint at all. I loved the beginning scene with Cinnabon and then it ended with him meeting Tuco... really strong and good show. Overall, great pilot. 2nd episode, not sure why... I was a little disappointed. I liked it a lot when I was watching it and like my heart was pounding and I thought overall it was really exciting. I thought it cooled down a little in the second half hour of the show. This morning my mom said "I didn't see the end of Better Call Saul" and I said "You know, I forget what happened."...

Scribbles About News: Breaking Bad Action Figures

So I usually do a Stuff That Happened this week type of post... but when I am writing this it is Wednesday and really nothing I like to talk about happened. There are some celebrity feuds, there is a fight between Andy Richter and Chelsea Handler because Chelsea made a fat joke about him (Andy Richter isn't even really fat.) Rene Zellwegger has a new face. For some reason people care about Blake Lively now that she's pregnant with Ryan Reynold's baby... and I don't really care about these things. What do I care about? Breaking Bad of corse! So Toys R Us sells action figures of Breaking Bad because they've always done things like that. They have grown up toys (I was going to say "adult toys" but that sounds quite dirty... )and I remember seeing a lot of horror movie action figures as a kid... so it makes sense to me that they would sell Breaking Bad Action figures. It isn't a kids toy, but its also a place for collectables and things of the like. It...

Scribbles About TV Shows I Can Watch Zillions of Times Without Getting Sick Of Them

I've recently started re-watching some shows I've already seen before and watching again for at least the second time. I thought I might as well post this, because its rare. Arrested Development- Clearly I've seen this show a lot and I'll never ever get sick of it. Whenever it's on tv, it doesn't matter what season I will watch it again and again. I've probably only watched season 4 as a whole 2 times, but still. The original 3 seasons are amazing and I could still watch them when I'm 80 years old and laugh. Breaking Bad- My other Favorite Tv Show! I've started rewatching this because AMC has their Breaking Bad Binge and its still just as good. It's rare for me to watch a drama more than once, but this is definitely something I want to watch again and again. I feel like I should watch the series at least once a year, its just so brilliant. The League- Whenever a new season of The League comes out on Netflix, I always watch the whole thing. ...

2014 Emmys Recap: Winners, who should have won, and important moments

This years Emmys was an award show I was actually excited to see. A lot of shows I watch were nominated, plus Breaking Bad is one of my favorite shows ever and that was up for bunches of awards, so yeah I was pretty excited. One thing I did not know was that Seth Meyers was the host. He was actually a really great host. It makes sense because he actually writes for these awards shows, but I thought he was really funny all around. His monalogue was good, i loved that he did Billy on The Street as a sketch. I thought the Big Bang theory and How I Met Your Mother jokes were incredibly funny. Overall just a funny award show that I actually was paying attention to mostly. There were a few speeches and awards that I fast forwarded cause I watched the first half on TiVo and caught up. And basically if Louie Ck and Mike Judge didn't win, I fast forwarded. But I didn't skip the jokes or anything!  Other funny moments of the show: The Weird Al song was sooo soo funny. I didn't know mo...

Top 5 Friday: Favorite Fictional Characters

This probably isn't the full entire list... But there is a good number of characters here that are definitely favorites of mine. I think right now I'm just going to post about 5 since it is Top 5 Friday... But I watch a lot of tv,and I've seen a lot of movies and read a lot of books... So there will always be more. Lol.  First I want to mention my favorite television character of all time: Gob Bluth. I love Arrested Development obviously and all of the Bluths could be mentioned in this... But Gob is totally what got me to love this show. He's just so strange and funny that he really isn't like any other character on television. He's wacky like Kramer, but not quite as smart. He's kind of dumb and a womanizer like Joey Tribianni, but he's not as dumb and he's got a lot more sadness in him. He's just funny all around and Will Arnett played him to a perfection!  Next I have to mention my other favorite tv character: Ron Swanson. All of the Pawnee r...

My Breaking Bad theory of Television.

Okay so as you probably know, I like breaking bad... a lot. And recently I've realized that basically every movie TV show, and book could be greatly improved if they had the same storyline as Breaking Bad. It works for pretty much everything. I discovered this after seeing previews for a show on ABC Family called Chasing Life, which is a show about a girl finding out she has cancer. It's basically Breaking Bad without any of the interesting parts... I find this odd because A) I feel like it's kind of trying to jump on the bandwagon of "The Fault In Our Stars" and just using this tragic thing as a way of gaining ratings B) It's not really about anything... I mean this has been done before, I don't see this as a storyline for a show because its a tragic thing millions of people have to go through every day... and it sucks, but I would much rather watch a show like Breaking Bad or watch a show where someone tries to find the cure for cancer. I got a little ...

Breaking Bad: Character Breakdown SPOILERS

So I just finished watching Breaking Bad and I need to write a paper for class and do other things with my life, so I'm going to do an in depth blog on each of the characters. I have a lot of feelings here, this is probably going to be a super long blog post that only people that only television nerds will like and it will be spoiler heavy! I will spoil everything that there is to spoil most likely, so please read at your own risk. Badger and Skinny Pete - so I'm going to start this off on a lighter note and talk about Badger and Skinny Pete because... I mean what's not to love about them? They are Jesse's drug dealer buddies and they're the best dumb- lovable druggie sidekicks anyone could ask for. They're funny, loyal and they show up unexpectedly when you really need them in the show. I was so happy when Walt hired them as his "assassins" in the finale. Just too great. Gale- Gale was a character that I knew they brought in just to kill off. Wh...

Shannon Reviews: Need For Speed

This is a movie I probably would not have seen if my new Man crush Aaron Paul was not in it... But since I love Breaking Bad and I somehow have a huge crush on Jesse Pinkman, I wanted to see it really badly. It's not that this movie didn't look good, it's just not exactly my type of movie. I've never really had an interest in seeing The Fast and The Furious, I don't really know anything about cars, I'm not a fan of action movies without Nick Cage, and I don't even drive so I feel like I don't have the same understanding of the movie that people that drive have. That might not make sense to everyone, but it makes sense to me. I found the movie really enjoyable though. It wasn't a terrible movie, it was sort of a bad movie but not a "so bad it's good" thing. Just an extremely entertaining movie that is just a little too unbelievable to be considered a "good" movie. It kind of had a plot... Well no that's harsh it has a p...

Man Crush Monday: Aaron Paul

Sooo I think I was going to do a WCW this week, but since I have so many reviews I thought I'd start off with my biggest man crush of the moment: Aaron Paul. I feel like Aaron Paul is someone I wouldn't normally find attractive, I pretty much only know him from playing Jesse on Breaking Bad. I think he's a great character and everything, but normally drug addicts just gross me out and I can't separate their character enough from their real life. (Even though he wasn't a drug addict,I remember seeing Louis Ck's show Lucky Louie on hbo once and thinking I'd never like his comedy because the show was just sooo gross. Lol funny how that changed). Anyhoo he makes me like Jesse, who isn't really that likable of a character. I really can't imagine anyone else playing Jesse Pinkman. I don't think anyone else would really bring what Aaron Paul brought to the role. I also actually saw Need For Speed. I don't like action movies or car movies, but I ...
