Okay... so I don't know if you can even call this a first date... but I started mentioning this in yesterday's post... so today I'm going to talk about it a little bit more. An important point to the plot: this was shortly after the Parks and Rec Galentine's Day Episode... and on February 13th I said to my girl friends "Oh my god! We need to do Galentine's Day on February 13th! It'll be so much fun! We can see a movie and get lunch and shop!" So these plans were set in stone pretty early. Then lo and behold: The guy I had been liking forever broke up with his on again off again girlfriend and wanted to go out with me! So we were supposed to see a movie Friday Night with my best friend and her boyfriend at the time... but then he couldn't go then and asked me to go to a movie with him on Saturday. Valentine's Day is here... here are some things I don't think you should do. Also I'm single... so take my advice with a grain of salt. Lol. 1) Text/ call your ex girlfriend- In High School I was on a pseudo date with a guy that just broke up with someone and it was a terrible date all in all... but the worst part was when I saw a text message from his ex girlfriend... there is no reason for you to be texting your ex on a first date because that will just make the person you're dating feel bad. So... yeah. 2) Talk about controversial topics- I sort of brought up something that I shouldn't have on a first date and then the guy sort of said he believed in a conspiracy theory... and that date actually went well... but when I tell my friends this story they're like "Yeah... thats weird Shannon." So even though I'm the exception to this rule because that relationship did last a long time... its not something I'd do again. I have a lot of weird f...

So I did one of these for my other blog and I thought... meh I can do it here too. I'm not a big believer in Valentines Day Gifts... I'm pretty simple and would be fine with dinner and a movie... but not everyone is... so here are a few ideas. First off... I want to say being single on Valentine's Day is absolutely fine. I'm super independent in relationships and I'm not currently in a relationship, and I'm not going to be here like "ohh being single sucks I want a boyfriend" cause I've been single for a bit now and there isn't anyone I've found interesting lately. I'm not going to date someone I don't want, and no one should just date to date. Date cause you like someone. It doesn't have to be a huge commitment or anything, just if you see someone interesting be like "hey you are worthy of me. I was going to post a review for Better Call Saul today... but I need to watch both episodes again... so I figured I'd post some cool romantic type movies that are good for guys and girls. Not every guy wants to cuddle and watch The Notebook on Valentine's Day... but lots of guys do and thats pretty cool. Also probably a lot of girls are forced into watching crappy super hero movies on dates, which is just a ploy to try to get you to make out with them. Sooo this blog is kind of very embarrassing but since it's Valentine's Day I thought I would explain the worst vday experience I had... Wait no actually it was after valentines day that this happened. I think I went out on a date with this dude the day before Valentines day but it was just so bad we just decided to take a short break and then he more officially asked me out the day after (and by more officially I mean he asked me on Facebook chat instead of text message. So I am no Valentines day expert... As a matter of fact I don't really like the damn day all that much. It's not that I'm completely unromantic... I just don't see why people just celebrate their love on every February 14th. Why not February 15th or whenever it moves you? But for whatever reason, I do like doing girly things and getting dressed up and stuff so why not have essentials.  It doesn't have to be for a date, it could be for girls night out. And guys there's some advice for you too. This is kind of a funny story/words of advice for any holiday shoppers. The holidays are a lovely time, they are spent with family and there is a lot of food. The problem is that lots of food=lots of farts. Like so many farts. This isn't usually that much of a problem, your family will love you if you fàrt or not... But when stores open on thanksgiving and you're working and you're trying to fold a table and it smells like farts... You have a bit of a problem. It happened to me this year and I hope that stores realize this and go "yo that's disgusting let's not open on thanksgiving night because all the stores smell like shit." Because that's how all meetings about opening on holidays go. Another holiday to beware of farts on: valentines day. If you are alone on Valentines day and you see a couple, chances are that guy has to fart. Chances are pretty good he won't fart in front of the girl he's with, so he will fart near you.
