It List: October 2019

I haven't done one of these in a while... but here are my favorites for the month! 1) Joker- Everyone is talking about this movie for a good reason- it is amazing! I literally can't stop thinking about it... it was very dark and disturbing- but just a really great and heartbreaking story! Definitely a great take on one of my favorite villains. 2) Epicurious 4 Levels of...- This is a fun youtube cooking show where they take 3 levels of chefs- an amateur, a home chef and a professional chef. All 3 of them cook the same dish and then a food scientist goes over their recipes and ingredients and why they work or didn't work. It's fun to see how all the recipes turn out and to get some useful tips for some of these recipes. 3) My New Michael Kors Handbag- I just got this because it was on clearance and totally my color... but it's just such a nice big bag that's really easy to open and close and carry... I Just love the design of this bag and it's so nice an...

Hump Day Update (11.8.17)

What I'm Watching  American Horror Story! Both Cult and Murder House... I didn't like Cult this week... but I'm excited for the finale. I liked this season a lot... but I'm kind of happy that it's ending because it's just pretty tense... and it's a great season but it's hard to watch. I watched the ABC comedies... I liked Fresh Off The Boat, Blackish and The Mayor... Blackish was especially good... this season has been my favorite so far. I kind of saw the Middle... I like the show but I'm okay with it being the last season. It's not bad... but I don't think any season was "The Best Season Ever" or something... I just think it's a good show that hasn't jumped the shark... it's just kind of run its corse. News Disney was looking into buying 20th Century Fox... but then they didn't... I have no idea why this is in the news as it was already announced that they wouldn't be partnering. Disney could have pos...

August 2016: It List

1) Harry Potter and the Cursed Child- I finished this book in a day. Its pretty easy to read because its written in screenplay format... but its really great and its a fun read. Its just really fun to get back into that Harry Potter World again. I think I'm going to finish and reread the series lol. I haven't read the 5th or 6th books... but I'm happy to be back in that world. I just think its really fun! 2) The Dis Unplugged- I've mentioned that I liked this podcast a few times before... but I've really started listening to it a lot and its just fun to listen to. I like it. It makes me feel like I'm at the theme parks, but I'm just at home watching and I like that. Its fun to watch or listen to. They're all really funny and get along well. Its like a talk show with good people, but just about Disney and other Orlando Theme Parks... and surprisingly, there's always a lot of news on that. I think its pretty cool. 3) The Office- I just started re-w...

It List: June 2016

Cannot believe it is June already... I'm excited! Good Month! 1) Pinterest- So I just started doing pinterest fairly recently. I was going to delete the app after my sister's wedding... I just downloaded it to look at bridesmaid hairstyles... but then I looked around a little bit more... and well... I got hooked. I made a bullet journal and I might try making a Smash Book and I've pinned some workouts and writing and organization techniques... its going to help me get my life together! Lol. 2) Grace and Frankie- This is one of my favorite shows currently on and I'm really excited its returned. So far its just as funny and as good as it was last year. I like it a lot. Highly recommend it for any age... don't be turned off just because its about older people because it is really funny. 3) Bath and Body Works- I always love Bath and Body Works, but its especially good during their Semi Annual Sale cause that's when I like to get my fix. Lol. There are a few s...

It List: January 2016

First It List of the Year! Here we go! If you're new here, I'm just listing around 10 things that I've been loving this month that I think you should check out. 1) The Worst Idea of All Time Podcast- This podcast is so funny. Its 2 guys that watch the same terrible sequel every week for a year and they see something different every time. I'm listening to season 2 because in season 2 they watched Sex and The City 2... and I love Sex and The City 2... it is an awful but its a fun watch... but its flawed and I love listening to all the flaws since it is a very flawed movie and... its just fun. I might be doing something similar in May... I'm trying to pre-write posts so that I can take off for the entire month of my sisters wedding... so yeah... I thought that would be a fun idea. A bad idea... but a fun one. I like this podcast a lot and I'll keep listening to it! 2) Serial Season 2- Another podcast favorite. I feel like this season will have a bit more contro...

Scribbles About Podcasts: Serial Season 2

Heyyy guys! So I've mentioned many times here that I'm a pretty big fan of podcasts and one of the biggest... actually probably the biggest podcast is Serial. Last year Serial was about the murder of a young girl named Hae Min Lee, and whether her ex boyfriend Adnan Syed was wrongfully convicted of the crime. While of corse they couldn't prove whether or not it was Adnan, it did give a fair and honest look at all different sides of the story. Really the point of the podcast was not to prove or disprove Syed's innocence, but to tell his story and the story of the murder in general. And it did that very successfully. It was a story that happened several years ago, and a lot of light was shed on the story because of the podcast, and Adnan's case has been reexamined in court since the podcast came out. Anyway this season follows a soldier named Bowe Bergdahl. This story is slightly more complicated than the first season. I'm going to link the wikipedia article on ...

2015 It List: Yearly Favorites

So I think I'll do a top 15 things of the year... idk if I have 15 things though... we'll see. 1) Keurig 2.0- So my first favorite is something I've used almost everyday since we've gotten it... which was around February or March... and I love it! I know its not like real professionally made coffee... but if you're like me and you like flavored coffee and you like sweet things... I guess you can choose the sweetness... but still I think this is something that you might like if you like your coffee sweet and flavorful. 2) Fitbit Charge HR - This I've also used this pretty much every day since I've gotten it, which was back in October on my birthday. One day the battery was totally dead and one day I was sick and didn't wear it... but I've worn it most days and its really fun. I like doing the challenges with other people... I usually lose but its still fun. I like that it monitors my heartbeat (I have the Charge HR) and I like that its purple. Lol...

Weekly Wrap Up: 11/21/15

Alrighty lets just get right into it! Favorites  Egg Nog Latte- I have a feeling there are going to be a lot of favorites this week. The Egg Nog Latte is a big one. This I feel like they have a little later than the other holiday lattes... but its my favorite. This year I think it's even better than previous years. Its so christmasy and good and delicious. I love it. Comedy Bang Bang- I've been behind on this podcast... but I just started listening to it again and it is amazing. It's really funny and just a fun thing to listen to while cleaning your room or anything. The show actually had Eagles of Death Metal on a recent episode. That is the band that's concert hall was targeted during the attacks in Paris, killing 90 people. Which is very sad, this podcast was obviously before that happened, it was an episode early in October, but you can tell they are good natured and easy to get along with guys. They were funny and fun to listen to. They didn't perform on ...

Weekly Favorites+ What I Watched This Week 8/30/15

I feel like the weekly favorites for this week are a bit weird and random... so yeah. Nerd Therapy on Youtube- I recently started collecting Funko Pop figures and I love them, its really fun to pick them up and overall they just make me really happy. I kind of wanted to know more about Funkos so I looked up "Funko Pop" on youtube and found this channel with this couple that collects Funkos and other nerdy things and they'll do Funko Hauls, unboxing of different nerdy subscription boxes, vlogs where they hunt funko pop figures... and just overall cool stuff. And reviews of Funkos which is cool. Really fun and easy to watch and get hooked. If you love Funko Pop figures, you will probably love their channel and yeah. Its just cool to know whats out there. Serial- I've started listening to Season 1 of Serial again. I may write a book slightly inspired by it even because... idk I find it fascinating that Adnan is probably going to get off, which he honestly should, but...

Scribbles About (Ear) Movies: Terrible Parents

So I'm going to do this blog a little differently because I just listened to Part 1 of this movie... and its the best one so far. If this gets made into a movie, I can see this easily becoming one of my favorite movies. This is the best one yet! And I loved Balls Out but this... Might be because its centered around women and I can relate to that because I am a woman. It might be because its just so different... its a gem. And this movie really should be made! Part 1  So it starts off with these parents played by June Diane Raphael and Paul Scheer... who are an actual married couple and they are new parents, so I think that adds to the performance. They're also just really good actors in general, so that helps. June is sort of the star of the movie, she plays Stephanie who is a sweet and loving mother... but she has a competitive side... which will be mentioned later. She and her husband Howie, played by Paul Scheer have this son thats a super genius and he gets into this ...

It List: June 2015

I feel like I'm going to have a lot here... but here we go! 1) Donut Shoppe Nutty Caramel k cups- I've been loving this flavor from my Keurig this month. It tastes really good hot, but its also the best k cup I've made iced so far! Its really sweet and it has that nutty flavor to it that just makes it so different. The caramel is also really amazing in this flavor too. I've been looking forward to waking up more because of these. Especially after trying them iced! 2) Christina Kober Fortune Cookie Necklace- So my sister got my graduation present from this designer Christina Kober and its a fortune cookie with the quote "Stay Weird. Stay Different" from Graham Moore on it. I love this quote and I love the necklace in general. I find it inspirational because I do want to be a screenwriter/ writer and he won the oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay. And the words are universally inspirational anyway. I like being weird and different and this necklace is just ver...

Scribbles About (Ear) Movies: Blacklist Table Read of The Other Side

So I've mentioned one of my new favorite podcasts before. Its called Blacklist Table Reads. They do readings of the best screenplays that still have not been made into movies. I loved their first read, Balls Out, it was a really great comedy. This one is a drama. I'm not super into dramas, but this one is an interesting subject that is pretty cool. It isn't necessarily something I would have watched myself had it been made into a regular movie. Like, not something I would have chosen to go to the theater and see or take the time to watch on tv... but thats what I like about this podcast. It forces you to step out of your comfort zone and listen to different movies. This movie is about the difference between Hasidic Jewish community in Brooklyn and the Hipster community in Brooklyn. The writer of this script (they do very interesting interviews with the writers every movie) mentioned that she used to live in Israel for 2 years, and then she moved to Williamsburg Brooklyn w...

It List: May 2015

1)The Black list Table Reads- This is a podcast on the Wolfpop network that is seriously brilliant, different and really enjoyable. This is what I've been listening to a lot lately because its just so fun. The Black List is a project that looks at screenplays that are brilliant and funny but for some reason haven't been made yet. Sometimes its literally because they're too funny and to brilliant to possibly get made. Basically they get a bunch of good people together, some well known names and some lesser known names and they have them read from the script itself. So basically its like listening to a movie. They broke the first movie into 4 parts and release it week by week. The first movie they did was called Balls Out and its really awesome. It reminds me a lot of Office Space and I think if it did get made it would be the next Office Space. Its wayyy more over the top though lol. It was written during the infamous Writers Strike of around 2007-2008ish. And its about a ...

Review: Undisclosed: The State v Adnan Syed

I'm a big fan of the podcast Serial... I know a lot of people are and the ending was unsatisfying because there is no closure of the story yet. We don't know whether Adnan did it or not... but basically it seems like he shouldn't be convicted because there is no real evidence pointing at him. Just because it seems to make sense that it was him doesn't exactly mean he should go to jail... in my opinion at least. Regardless, when I heard about this new podcast I was interested. Its not serial part 2... it doesn't necessarily answer any questions that Serial didn't answer... but it does give a lot of backround information that serial didn't give. Plus it is from the perspective of a lawyer and not a journalist, so that makes it more of a legal podcast than a narrative the way that Serial was. Its also very biased. Its put together by a group for the innocence of Adnan Syed and the main narrator of the podcast the "Sarah" if you will has known Adnan ...

Parks and Rec Recs

So here is a little random post for you... Since Parks and rec  is ending tonight... I thought I might give some recommendations for things you may enjoy if you need your parks and rec fix... First I'm going to recommend following some of the cast members on twitter and instagram because they post a lot of funny things. The person I would recommend most highly is Rhetta. Her twitter handle is Unforhettable and she's really funny. She'll live tweet, she's just as awesome as Donna Meagle and she's perfect. Evilhag is Aubrey Plaza, PrattPrattPratt is Chris Pratt... I believe Adam Scott and Billy Eichner have twitters and instas. Creator Mike Schur has a twitter. I believe Humble Brag is still up which was created by a writer/ producer Harris Wittels (R.I.P.) There is a lot going on on twitter with these guys, so yeah. If you like Podcasts, one podcast that has a very similar humor to Parks and Rec with some similar elements is Welcome to NightVale. This is podcast ...

January 2015: IT LIST!

I totally was about to change the name of this to "the Bae list" or something like that... but Bae isn't going to be popular in a few months. Just know, all these items I'm mentioning are bae. A lot of these are fashion related... so thats a thing. 1) Gray Sparkly Cardigan Ugg Boots- I've been wearing these all the time. I love Uggs in general, and these are new, so they're kind of my favorites right now. They are warm and comfy and they look fashionable and go with everything. I used to hate the color grey, and now I've been loving it. i don't have a picture of these, but they look sooo much prettier in person than on camera anyway... I'm obsessed with uggs in general, but these are my babies! 2) Target handbag- Speaking of Grey fashiony items, I recently got this handbag at Target and it is awesome! Its big and it has a crossbody and a shorter strap. It holds everything in my life that I need. Its good quality and affordable too. It was like ...
