I've been buying a lot of books recently... and I have to say... I have not been reading a lot recently... so I really need to get on it and read these things! Here's what I have and why I want to read them! Matched by Ally Condie- This is a Dystopian YA Novel about a society that matches people up at the age of 16. They have a big ceremony and the girls are in one room and the boys are in another and they each get to see who their match would be and learn more about them... I've started reading this and I have to say that I... don't know how I feel about it. It's interesting- I'm really not far in at all in the book... but I'm not drawn in immediately... it's a short book and I should want to read it more... but I just don't. And I got this book not so much for enjoyment but more because I want to write something that might be similar in tone... although it is not a YA or Dystopian...and I think the theme might be different entirely- but I didn...

Favorites  The Santa Clarita Diet- I finished this season the day it came out. It's not something I'm like "Ohhh should I watch that again?" Right now... but I did really enjoy it. I'll have a full review on Wednesday, that's going to have some mild spoilers maybe... but it's good! Take my word for it, if you like Zombies, this is a good one! A Series of Unfortunate Events: The Austere Academy- This is a really funny book. I like the characters in it a lot, this is the first book I've read from the series in 13 years probably... so it's exciting to re-read it. I'm excited to see what the show does with this. I thought this might be kind of fun... especially since I've been watching so many shows recently! I have reviews of all these shows already... I'm just kind of going to go over why I've been bingewatching them and stuff like that! A Series of Unfortunate Events  This was the netflix show of the month... they've been pretty up to date with their releases and for the most part they have 1 or 2 shows every month. Still have to watch The OA... but I really liked this also! It was funny and even though it was for kids... I still thought it was very entertaining and funny. I've started reading the books again because of it. I think I finished it so quickly because 1) nothing else was really on 2) You kind of have to watch 2 episodes at a time because 2 episodes finish 1 book 3) It is genuinely suspenseful 4) I really liked the 4th book and I was upset that they had never shown that in any movie or anything... so I feel like I've been waiting 13 years for that......

I really liked this show! I liked it so much that I actually went back and watched it again! And it was still really good! I liked the series... I didn't mind the movie that was made... but it was a little disappointing because it was just a lot to put into one movie... 3 books in 1 movie is kinda rushed feeling... but it makes sense as a Series... literally it is A Series of Unfortunate Events, it just works as a SERIES! Not so much a movie. I loved the first episode because I'm a big fan of the Addams Family movies and Barry Sonnefield directed those and he directed the first 2 episodes... I think he directed more than that too. I just think he's really good with dark humor and this whole series is ALL about dark humor... and I love that. I thought that The Bad Beginning and The Reptile Room were really funny episodes. The Wide Window Part 2 was a little funnier... The Miserable Mill I was a little disappointed in Sir to be honest... I mentioned that in another post.....
