Watching The First 30-ish Minutes of The Emoji Movie

So... I decided to watch The Emoji Movie the other day... and it's an experience so far... I don't think that I can actually watch the full thing... so this may end up being a series on this blog where I do 3 or so installments. Now I thought "this movie will surely get better" but now that I've had a bit of time to reflect on this first installment of the movie... I realized it probably does not. The last moment I watched was when they very first meet Jailbreak... and just from the brief appearance I saw of hers... I thought she was a great character... again I've only seen a few seconds of her... but she brought an energy that I wasn't getting from High 5... And let's talk about the High 5 Emoji... because as far as characters in movies go... High 5 is probably the least likable and my least favorite... it's bad. I didn't think there was anything that would make me dislike James Corden... but this High 5 Emoji is pretty terrible. And if...

26 Random Favorites

I thought it would be fun to talk about my 26 favorite things- I'm not including people like Family and friends because then that would just be a long list and those are kind of a give-in. I will probably have people like Lady Gaga on the list though... so yeah. Lol. These are in no order... there are probably more... but yeah. It's more categories like "Favorite Pet" "Favorite TV Show" and things like that. 1- Dogs- I love dogs. Dogs are my favorite pet... I have had 2 adorable and fun malteses... dogs are just my favorites. I think that's a little different than favorite animal... so let's talk about some of my favorite animals. 2- Giraffes and Elephants- I'm not sure I could really choose one to be my favorite animal... I think I love them both. Giraffes are beautiful... Elephants are beautiful and they're so fascinating. I love the Elephants that paint pictures of elephants... they are brilliant and I love them! 3- Arrested Developm...

Intros to Disney Afternoon Cartoons

So I saw  This  video online and I needed to do a video about it... so here we go. First I'm going to watch each intro again- I'll write about my thoughts and then I'll rank them at the end. Disney Afternoon Intro  So I'm a little young to really have this intro as part of my childhood... I mostly remember watching these movies on ToonDisney when I was a kid... and a few times on the regular Disney Channel when I was really little... this intro is so exciting though. It's very Disney and I kind of wish Disney Channel was still more Disney. They had Mickey with Launchpad McQuack and all his friends from The Disney Afternoon... now it's kind of like "huh... Does Mickey know Judy Hopps?" Idk! It'd be cool to find out... but this is a nice memory! I won't count this with the ranking... but still! Adventures of Gummi Bears  Great intro... super catchy- but it also really gives you an idea of what you're about to see on the show. I want t...

Throwback Thursday: Frozen

So this isn't quite as much of a Throwback... and I actually watched it more than once recently... so yeah. Hopefully this is still kind of helpful. When I first saw this movie I kind of liked it... kind of didn't think it was worth the hype... watched it a second time recently and I liked it a lot better and then I watched it a few more times... and I actually kind of love it. It isn't my favorite Disney Movie or animated movie... Obviously the Despicable Me and Minion movies are my favorites. I also really like Tangled, which I reviewed last week. Lilo and Stitch is kind of a favorite... there are just a lot of movies that are better than Frozen... so when Frozen sort of became this huge thing I was like "Meh..." I also never liked that there's this great love song at the beginning of the movie called "Love Is An Open Door" and it's for the bad guy... that's kind of terrible. I just didn't like that at all. It just seems so wasted a...

Throwback Thursday:Jimmy Neutron Boy Genius

This was quickly added to my list for Throwback Thursday when I saw it on Netflix. I loved this movie and the TV show as a kid, but you always need to know how it holds up... and it held up really well. The actual plot of this movie is really good... but I always really like the animation of it. I don't really know why, I think the colors and like the effects of Poultra are really cool. It isn't overly cutesy but its really just fun to watch because of the way it is animated. Another reason I love this movie is that when I went to Universal as a kid I went to Nickelodeon Studios (Of corse) I really really wanted to get slimed and my dad was a participant in a Jimmy Neutron game! They had him wear a helmet that looked like Jimmy's hair and he dressed like him... it was really really funny. And my Dad had fun with it and he was a good sport about it... although I have to say back when we went there wasn't a whole lot to do at Universal and it was all simulator rides.....

Throwback Thursday: Lilo and Stitch

I've been wanting to do reviews of older movies from when I was a kid or a teenager and wondering if they're any good now... and I'm happy to say this one is actually wayyy better than when I originally saw it when it came out! Lilo and Stitch are 2 of my favorite disney characters probably. Stitch is one of the cutest, and he kind of reminds me of the minions. And Lilo is really cute and when I met her in Disney I had braided pigtails and Lilo grabbed them and it was really funny. I thought that was fun. And I know a lot of people in the Disney community hate the Stitch ride... honestly it scared me a little because I was still a bit traumatized from when it was Alien Encounter... but I liked the gift shop! And I like that Lilo and Stitch are at Disney now, I've only been to Disney once since the movie came out. They could maybe do something a little better... but it makes sense to replace Alien Encounter with Stitch. The major reason why I loved this movie so much...

Blogmas Day 3: Scribbles About Movies: Moana Review

Allright... I guess this isn't particularly Christmasy... but it is out during the holidays and it would be fun to see around Christmas with family in town and everything and if you're looking for gift ideas, the Moana toys would be really good ones because this movie was great and I think it's a really fun one to see. It took a little bit long to kinda get started. We knew the basic plot line of why Moana has to leave the Island and find Maui from the very beginning, it pretty much opens with that part in the trailer where Moana's grandmother is telling the story of Maui and Moana is a little kid and she's so excited to see him. And then we see that the ocean choses Moana when she is young and the scene is one of the most beautifully animated scenes in any movie ever... and I would highly encourage seeing this movie because its just so beautiful! See it in theaters if you can because it just makes you feel like you're in Hawaii. It is really really a beauti...

Blogmas Day 2: Favorite Children's Characters

So on Instagram Alex's Lemonade started a challenge where you post children's characters for Childhood Cancer Awareness. The Ice Bucket challenge raised enough awareness for ALS that they actually found what causes ALS... so I'm hoping this can help cure cancer as well... especially for children because that is a lot for a child to deal with.  Here  is the link to Alex's lemonade. I would encourage you to help spread the word about the website. Donate if you can and if you feel comfortable with it. But yeah! Onto my favorite childhood characters! Sully from Monster's Inc  Monster's Inc is one of my favorite movies of all time... and it is partially because of how sweet Sully was too Boo. And he has kind of a mischievous side too... but he's just a great character. I love him! I love all the holiday Sully's that they have dressed up for the holidays. He's just so cute and cuddly. I love Sully! Minions  Obviously... I love minions. I just think t...

Top 10 Movies I'd Like To See Re-Done

So with Ghostbusters being released and the backlash of it all... I thought I'd just talk about the top 10 movies I think can make it with remakes. I'm fine with remakes... its fun to see how different directors interpret things and even seeing things in different genres, like Dark Shadows or 21 Jump Street, which were made as great comedies... and yeah. So these are movies and TV Shows I think could be redone somehow. It might not all be as a movie... but they can be re-done somehow. And I'll count these down so its kind of an order from least favorite to favorite. 10) Pushing Daisies- This is something that I think was done very well... but I don't think a TV show is the best representation of it. There are talks of a musical, or maybe a movie about it... I think those are good... but I don't know if that would be the best way of doing it. I want to see it as like a comic book or a series of books... there's an audience for it and I think it would be fun to ...

Chart Chat:7.11.16

5) The Purge:Election Year- This looks good and scary. I always want to see the purge movies but A) no one I know likes horror movies B) Horror movies also aren't that good to see in my movie theater. People are loud and obnoxious in horror movies... and sometimes like in the Paranormal Activity movies its kind of funny... but with this one I think I'd rather not pay for an expensive ticket and then have people being obnoxious in the movie... and I never end up watching these on TV either... lol. I should start. This one looks particularly scary and interesting... but yeah. Probably won't end up seeing it. 4) Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates- I want to see this movie... lol. I actually have the book I want to read first which means I probably won't end up seeing this... but it looks good! 3) Finding Dory- I need to see this and I still haven't seen this!!! I love Finding Nemo... its probably one of my top favorite movies ever and I love the concept of this! So c...

Scribbles About Movies: Trailer Reviews! Swiss Army Man, Bad Moms, You Before Me and More!

Figured I'd do another trailer review cause I love Daniel Radcliffe... and I wanted to see how weird this Swisss Army Man trailer was... Swiss Army Man Trailer - This is kinda weird... its a little more normal than I expected to be honest. So Daniel Radcliffe plays a dead guy... and Paul Dano uses his flatulence as a propellor to get him to land... and then he continues being a useful tool for Dano's character I guess. His penis is a compass or something... it sounds like a pretty weird movie... totally want to watch it! The BFG - I always think BFG stands for Big Effing Giant... and then remember its a kids book so its not Effing... its friendly. So now I guess I'll just say Friendly instead of Effing. Lol. Bill Hader is in this... I kinda have a crush on him... so that's cool. I feel like I'm a little old for this one. It looks great, if you have young kids, totally seems like a fun family movie... but probably not for me! The Legend of Tarzan  So I kinda ...

Throwback Thursday: Tenchi Muyo

So this was kinda cool. When I was in 3rd or 4th grade there was this really cool show on Cartoon Network called Tenchi Muyo. And it was animae, but it wasn't overly violent or anything... it was just a cool action-packed tv show that was sort of like a cartoon soap opera... but also sort of with superhero type of stuff. I didn't remember much about it other than it was a cute guy that lived in a house with a bunch of women that all liked him. Thats me describing it as a kid... lol. And there were characters with blue hair and a scientist with pink hair and it was really funny and really cool. But they just aired the same episodes over and over again and never really continued with the show. So that was upsetting. I just watched the first episode so far... so idk if that's really what its about or not... lol. But the first episode was very action-packed but also funny and cool. What I sort of appreciate about it is the way the story is told. It kind of follows all the...

Scribbles About Movies: Unofficial Ranking of Pixar Movies

So I was going to re-watch all Pixar movies and do a full ranking of every movie... but I don't even have all of them and I don't really have a DVD player right now... so this is kind of an unofficial ranking... but all the important ones are the same. I'm going to start from the bottom and then go up! Not because Up is #1... its close lol... but still. All of the movies are good, I didn't like Cars 2 and I didn't love Cars... so slight spoilers... theres a reason for all my rankings... lol. They're all good and I could watch them all... except Cars 2 which I never really finished... lol. 15) Cars 2- The only Pixar movie I didn't like... and the only Pixar movie that got bad reviews. I didn't watch the full thing... I don't think I can because I just don't get the whole Cars are spies deal and stuff like that... idk. Its a weird one. I felt like they were like "You know what will make a movie less annoying? More Larry The Cable Guy" ....

Scribbles About Movies: Inside Out

I'm a little late to the game on this one... but its a Pixar Movie! I can't just not see a Pixar Movie (except I've never seen Cars 2) so I had to see this one! I had already kind of known a lot about the movie that you aren't supposed to know when seeing it... but I didn't think it was that big of a deal and I didn't like the movie any less knowing the big secret. That is of corse the Bing Bong reveal which was very well done and beautifully written, even if you did know what he was to Riley. I don't want to reveal any spoilers, but online everyone was like "Why Bing Bong was kept under wraps" and stuff like that... to me it really wasn't. I saw Bing Bong while looking for Inside Out Toys, and You can guess what role he plays in the movie by A) Knowing the plot of the movie and B) Seeing what he looks like. And thats brilliant in and of itself. When you see a mysterious character and you know exactly what its supposed to be without question,...

Scribbles about Movies: Movies that I will always watch on TV

First off: Sorry I haven't been here the past couple days. I've had ideas to post and stuff but I just haven't really felt like sitting down and actually writing these things. Don't worry, I have plans and I'll get a lot of good posts out soon. Right now I'm just going to do a little random favorite movies type of thing. I've seen a lot of movies a bunch of times, but there are some that I will put on pretty much anytime they are on tv and I don't get tired of them. Most of these are typical girly movies or cartoons... but those I tend not to get tired of very easily. 1) My Big Fat Greek Wedding- I've most likely seen this movie more than any other movie ever. And it still makes me laugh so hard! Maybe its because I'm greek... but a lot of my non-greek friends love this movie too, so it is totally funny and awesome for a lot of people. Nia Vardalos is also my hero and we're basically bffs now. Lol she's one of the best people to follo...

Flashback Friday: Hey Arnold Parent's Day Episode

So this is a new thing called Flashback Friday which is basically Throwback Thursday on a Friday. I think I'll continue to do Throwback Thursdays, but I really wanted to post something about Joan Rivers yesterday, so I thought that was a little more important to post. When I saw that The 90s are All That were airing the Parent's Day episode of Hey Arnold. This is really one of those iconic moments in cartoon history, at least throughout my childhood. It's one of those cartoons that you watch as a kid and it makes you sad. It makes you feel more things than the run-of-the mill cartoon. And the creators of the show totally didn't have to include this info about Arnold. We knew Arnold lived with his grandparents and we could just accept that... but they decided to go a step further and give Arnold adventurer parents that could in fact still be alive. I was a little surprised at how mean Helga was in this episode actually. She is always mean to Arnold, but she would usu...

Throwback Thursday: Rugrats

There are some shows that you watch as a kid and love, and then you watch them as an adult and they aren't as amazing as you remember. Dinosaur was one show I always looked forward to watching on Disney Channel after school and stuff... And as an adult, it just wasn't funny or good at all! It was one of the biggest disappointments of life, even though Jessica Walters is in it!  Rugrats, however, is one show that I actually like even more as an adult than I did as a kid! There's some humor in it that's just more for grown ups and it's super funny and just absolutely great all around. I appreciate the parents and grown-up characters a lot better than I did as a kid, and I even find the babies cuter and funnier than I remember them being. Didi is super funny, her parents are really great, Stu's relationship with his brother and his dad is funny. I love seeing the "bromances" with all the dads and the female relationships on the show also.  I also love how...

Favorite Movie list!

I don't know why, but I thought a list of movies that I think will always be my favorites would be a good thing for this blog. These aren't in any real order, but the first few are my favorites. 1) Despicable Me 1&2- these are amazing and adorable movies I could watch thousands of times and still laugh harder than any kid at them! I love the minions, I'm obsessed. Whenever I'm in a bad mood, these movies cheer me up! 2) Bridesmaids- Best Comedy of all time. Not only do I love this movie a lot and think it's hilarious, it's also an important movie. It changed female centric comedies and it was just awesome all around. 3) Forgetting Sarah Marshall- freaking hilarious movie. This is another one that is just so sooo funny I can have a terrible day and watch this and laugh my ass off. I feel like this is underrated, but not super underrated because I think this is a lot of people's favorite movie. 4) The Big Lebowski- yet another great comedy. I need ...

Review Time! Frozen

I love Disney, I love Princesses, I love musicals, and I love snow men so overall, I knew this movie was going to be a big win. A lot of hype was around it, a lot of my friends really liked it,  I was expecting to love it and I've got to say it did not disappoint. Whatsoever. It starts off a little odd I get. I don't totally get everything about Elsa's powers and why she really needed to stay away from Ana as much as she could. I feel like it wasn't dramatic enough, but it got super dramatic at the end. There were several things that happened that they didn't go into great detail about, and it makes sense its a kids movie, they don't necessarily want to know all of the stuff that went on, but it's a hard thing to convey and I feel like they should have been a little more clear toward the beginning of the movie. There were also a lot of great songs... like a LOT! It seemed at some times that there was wayyyy too many musical numbers and not nearly enough ...
