Throwback Thursday:Jimmy Neutron Boy Genius

This was quickly added to my list for Throwback Thursday when I saw it on Netflix. I loved this movie and the TV show as a kid, but you always need to know how it holds up... and it held up really well.

The actual plot of this movie is really good... but I always really like the animation of it. I don't really know why, I think the colors and like the effects of Poultra are really cool. It isn't overly cutesy but its really just fun to watch because of the way it is animated.

Another reason I love this movie is that when I went to Universal as a kid I went to Nickelodeon Studios (Of corse) I really really wanted to get slimed and my dad was a participant in a Jimmy Neutron game! They had him wear a helmet that looked like Jimmy's hair and he dressed like him... it was really really funny. And my Dad had fun with it and he was a good sport about it... although I have to say back when we went there wasn't a whole lot to do at Universal and it was all simulator rides... so he wasn't exactly having the best day at the park. But the Nickelodeon Studios tour was really fun! And it was really cool. I don't think my dad won the game... maybe he did. I don't remember. He didn't get slimed though and neither did I. But that was a fun memory.

Also I liked the soundtrack because there were 3 Aaron Carter songs on it! And they play them all in the movie... and they're all terrible! But I loved Aaron Carter at the time, so that is all that mattered.

I do think the soundtrack was fun for kids...and for adults too it has some older songs on it too.

The actual movie didn't make me cry, it was very heartwarming... but compared to Lilo and Stich it didn't hit me like that one did. I guess maybe because I knew the end was happy and you know Jimmy knows a way.

The one thing that always really strikes me with this movie is that Jimmy is a total nerd... but he's so cool! All the inventions that he makes and the stuff that he can do is just really cool and its just because he knows science and technology. I was not a child genius or anything, but I could imagine a lot of kids that feel left out because kids pick on them for being smart could really relate to this movie and see "yeah, see what I can do?" Type of thing.

Now I want to watch the TV show, which I also really liked. I was actually a little disappointed in the end of this movie because I got it confused with the episode of the show where Poultra returns and Jimmy gives her Purple Flurp to make her burp because Chickens can't burp. It was clever and I just thought that ending was a little better than this one... but it was funny to see the eggs as yolk and the king was Sunny Side Up.

Overall I still thought this movie was really funny and cute. It didn't hold my attention the way Lilo and Stitch did... I'm probably going to watch that one over and over again... but I did really like Jimmy Neutron. I wish he was still a cartoon. I wish Universal just had a Jimmy Neutron rocket ship ride instead of the Nicktoons ride that they had... which I'm glad they got rid of because now it's the despicable me ride!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...
