Not ch'yo Nachos: Recipe and Review

So over the weekend I had some chili and I wanted to make nachos... but I had no tortilla chips. I did have Ritz Crackers, so I decided to make something I like to call "Not ch'yo Nachos." My mom made the turkey chili- if you have leftover taco meat or leftover rotisserie chicken... or just leftover meat or veggies... this could work too. You are the boss of your nachos so modify as needed.  This  is roughly the same recipe my mom uses... it's from a friend of ours and over the years my mom has probably modified it and made it less spicy... but if you're looking for a chili recipe this is a darn good one! I heated up the chili first and then I melted a little bit of cheese onto some Ritz crackers. I just sliced some cheese and cut it up smaller and then put it in the microwave for about 20 seconds. This might be an extra step you don't want... but for me it really brought some extra flavor and cheeseyness. I used Colby Jack cheese if that makes a differenc...

Scribbles About Food: Shannon Eats Steak! Moonstruck!

So... this might seem like a big deal... but I haven't eaten steak in a really long time. My parents LOVE steak and they gave it to me so often as a kid I just got tired of it... and I've only had it a few times in the past... 15 years maybe? I've had Chicken fried steak- which is really good. My dad got a hibachi recently and made hibachi steak that I liked. My friend's fiance made some steak kabobs recently also... and I liked that... so I just kind of wanted to venture into eating steak again because I'm getting a little tired of chicken. And there's a really good restaurant in Asbury called Moonstruck... and I thought that would be a good time to try some. My parents really love their steak- I love their food and I've realized this is a good place to try new things... so I got it... and I'll review the appetizer and dessert I had also! Appetizer  We always pretty much order the same appetizers... this time we only ordered the one appetizer whic...

Scribbles About Food: Teak Restaurant Review

So this is super exciting. I have been wanting to try this restaurant called Teak in Red Bank for a while now. It's a little bit pricey, so I haven't been... but it looked like a great place and a lot of fun. I actually won a gift card from a Facebook page called Jersey Shore in Motion. If you live near the Jersey Shore or vacation at The Jersey Shore... I highly recommend checking out the page. It's a great page for food all around the Jersey Shore... they were super nice and helpful when I won the contest. I guessed the amount of Candy Corn in a jar and I won that whole jar of Candy Corn and a $100 gift card to any Jersey Shore in Motion Restaurant... so that was cool. The Bar/ The Wait/ The Service.  I didn't get a drink from the bar at all, but my friend and I got a coke... which was on the house... really really nice! It was busy, but it didn't take long... I was impressed with the service at the bar! There was a wait for the table. I think they said 35-40...
