Bridesmaid Diaries: Bachelorette Party Goody Bags

Heyyy guys! So... I'm about to leave for my sister's Bachelorette party. I wanted to put a candy bar in there too, but it might have melted because we're not going to the hotel right away...so we thought scratch offs would be fun! And the last scratch off Someone won for the what's in my bag at the bridal shower won $5! So that was good! So yeah! Quick, simple bridesmaids diaries. Didn't have time for much else today... I'll write more about the bachelorette party next week. Byeeee! -Shannon

Bridesmaids Diaries: Djs, Tasting, Picking Up The Dress

Heyyy guys! Haven't done one of these in a while. I've done some events that aren't necessarily important for Bridesmaids to be a part of... but they're still useful and I feel like combined it'll make a good blog post. Picking Out The DJ  So this is an important part. We went to an event that they actually had in like a banquet room at a hotel nearby and it was for a popular local DJ and entertainment company. All the MC's were really fun and had a lot of energy, which is an important part. My sister's wedding is on a Sunday, so having a good DJ will really make or break the party. People will be more likely to stay and have a good time with a good DJ and MC. But at the same time, some people want higher energy and some people want lower energy... so it depends on the Bride and Groom's preference. We got a great guy and it's easy to have. If you know someone that's a DJ or MC or has a band or something, you may feel obliged to use them, wh...

Bridesmaid Diaries: Choosing Bridesmaids+ Flower Girls and How to ask

So this one seems pretty simple, and again its kind of more of a personal preference type of thing picking out who your bridesmaids are and why you want them! Know How Big of a Bridal Party You Want  Sometimes people want a really big bridal party including all of their friends, and thats great! But sometimes people just want to keep it smaller, which is also great! Its about you and what you want to do and if you think the people that you're choosing as your bridesmaids will be happy with that.  If you have a lot of friends but don't want a big bridal party, either way your friends should have a fun time as a guest of the wedding and you can still invite them to bachelorette parties and bridal showers and have a good time with them. Don't pay too much attention to the amount of groomsmen  It doesn't really matter if the amount of Bridesmaids you have is different than the amount of groomsmen. If you have like 16 bridesmaids and like 2 groomsmen... thats one thi...

Woman Crush Wednesday: Ellie Kemper

Ellie Kemper is one of the awesomest of the awesome ladies... so duhhh I have a woman crush on her! 1) She plays some pretty "shannon-y" characters- All of her characters are very relatable to me and she plays them to perfection pretty much. Independent and smart but also with "phoebe-ish" type qualities. I mean Phoebe from friends if that makes sense lol. Kimmy Schmidt doesn't understand the present because its the future for her. Erin was fun and smart but a little on the silly and awkward side... thats so much like me it isn't even funny. Even in Bridesmaids she was obsessed with Pixar. She's so good. 2) She is fantastic on talk shows- I feel like Ellie is really well spoken on talk shows and in public settings and that makes me like her even more. She was on Ellen and they talked about a lot of things from her engagement story to her being in a haunted hotel and she just always seems like she has something super interesting to say and a lot of gr...

Woman Crush Wednesday: Melissa McCarthy

1) She's super SUPER funny- I feel like this goes without saying... But Melissa McCarthy is one of the funniest human beings on the planet... If not the funniest dare I say it. She was amazing in bridesmaids, and although I didn't think she was the "scene stealer" that she was dubbed in that movie (only because I thought everyone was absolutely AMAZING in bridesmaids) she has been the absolute funniest person in ever in many movie roles and she is just perfect. 2) She makes unlikable roles really likable and easy to relate to- Her characters are always super odd and usually quite hard to relate to. Tammy isn't someone you would necessarily want to hang out with in real life, but I feel like Melissa McCarthy made her so likable and easy to relate to that she had a depth other actresses wouldn't have brought to her. Another great example is her character in Identity Thief. Why should we like that girl at all? She's a criminal, she steals Jason Bateman'...

Women Crush Wednesday #3- Rebel Wilson

One of the funniest women in the entire world right now is Rebel Wilson. I mean, Super Fun Night isn't the greatest show on the planet, but Rebel is still so funny on it! Plus she was hilarious in Bridesmaids and in Pitch Perfect and she is just sooo funny and completely great. And if that isn't enough, she's also super smart. She's a friggin lawyer?!?!?! No way you can be that funny and awesome and be someone's lawyer, but yes, it is true! If I ever have legal troubles, I totally want Fat Amy to represent me in a court of law! There was a quote I saw on tumblr too that was saying that she stays fat because she can't be beautiful, funny, talented and skinny because that would be unfair to everyone else. I have to agree with her there, because she literally has everything going for her. She is funny and steals the scene in every movie, she can sing really well, and she is super pretty also. She doesn't have to be skinny to have everything going for her, s...
