Okay, yesterday I talked about my Fall Out Boy action figures and today I wanted to mention why I love fall out boy and when I started to love them. I think I'm going to do one of these types of posts once a month- that way you can understand a little bit more about me. So I remember one day in 7th or 8th grade maybe I wanted to get really into music because I didn't know too much about music at that point. I was really into movies- but not so much into music. Fortunately back then there was a cable channel that was called MTV Hits I think and they played all music videos all the time and it was awesome. I don't know if they still have it... but I really liked that. So I was rearranging things on my DVD shelf recently... and I thought I would post a little picture of my "Shelfie." And talk about it a little bit! So I've kind of arranged my DVDs into different sections that way I know where I can find what I want to watch. I have one shelf for Romantic Comedies, Horror and Action, Kids movies, My favorites, TV, and Comedies... not in that order! This shelf has the Comedies. So you'll see some good comedies there! The Hangover, Horrible Bosses, Superbad, This is The End... you can probably see some of them! So I got these Fall Out Boy action figures for Christmas when I was a Teenager. Fall Out Boy was my favorite band... and my dad found out that they made these, so he got them for me and for a friend of mine... and I really still like Fall Out Boy a lot today- so I've kept them on my shelf of corse. I really like them! I also love Minions... so I have some of  the minions... I thought it would be funny to put the on...

Sooo I was tagged in a Facebook Challenge to do my Top 10 Favorite Albums of All Time... and I thought I'd post that here too! By the time I'm posting this I'm done with the challenge... but at the time of starting this... I'm not. And I have no idea what I'm picking for the end of the challenge... so that should be fun. Actually I'm going to post this earlier because I'm a little lazy and I didn't have anything written for the day! 1) Hamilton (Original Broadway Cast)  I want to say this one is just my favorite of all time... but I also know I can't completely say that. This is probably the one I could listen to every single day for the rest of my life and still get emotional for... Sooo happy Groundhog Day! Is there an all day marathon of the movie Groundhog day on some channel? There probably is and if there isn't this should be a thing and maybe I will actually watch it for the first time today. This is kind of a different blog for me... and I kind of want to introduce it but at the same time not introduce it... if that makes sense? It doesn't... so I'm going to kind of explain this anyway. So I was trying to think of ideas of actual books I want to write, movies I want to write... there's a short story I would love to make into a novel but now I'm thinking "Maybe I'm just too attached to this story and I need not to write it and just leave it as a short story... I don't know... it's something I wrote in creative writing in college... so I'm sure it isn't as good as I think it is... but it has potential and I need to do something more with that... or something more with writing in general... because mainly what I...

Happy New Year! 2017 is going to be great! I've got a lot of stuff planned... some things already written and its going to be fun! I'm excited! So we'll start the New Year with the last Scribbles About Music Throwback Thursday Edition... for a while at least and that is XO by Fall Out Boy! The last song on From Under The Cork Tree, and one of my favorites! This is almost a little like the "dark and scary" songs that I usually like. In fact, I think during one of their concerts they played either this or I Slept With Someone in FOB and they had a video on a projection of centipedes and gross things... really not sure which one it was right now... but it freaked me out a little, but it was fitting! Alright... back to the actual titles of the songs! This should be fun! I don't think I ever actually knew the title of this song because I never really like it that much. This is one I kind of liked half the song but the other half I was just like "nahhh" and I don't remember which half exactly. I'm guessing the end with the scream-ness even though I just said I liked that in I Slept With Someone in Fall Out Boy. I'm kind of listening to this intently because I think this is one I usually listened to because I didn't dislike all of it... but it was always a song I didn't really like. The lyrics are fine... and the song is fine... but I don't know. Maybe I haven't gotten to the bad part yet... With the other song I don't like on this cd is that Patricks voice sounded weird and the song was a bummer... this song is kind of like that too. Ohh okay... Yeah I'm keeping the "Track number" titles of these because this sounds like a juicy story if you don't know the song. It's "A little less Sixteen Candles, a Little More 'Touch Me'" so... yeah. This is one of my favorites from the cd too. Maybe one of the ones that made me accidentally like Fall Out Boy as well. And last week I kind of said I sped up my writing because I didn't want to listen to the song again... this time I'm kind of slowing down because I want to hear the song again and again... so that's cool. This is a catchy one... just stays in your head all day. It sounds like a super happy song but its kind of a good breakup song. It also seems like a good "Hey let's win the girl song" too. So if you're confused about why I didn't include the name of the song in the title... its because the name of the song is I Slept With Someone in Fall Out Boy And All I Got Was This Stupid Song Written About Me... and I did not sleep with anyone in Fall Out Boy... but I figured if people didn't know the song, they would think I did and click on the blog for the wrong reason... I did a Shannon Goes Viral for the trailer of Sausage Party and after being like "Wow, a lot of people must love Seth Rogen" I was like "Ohh... People might have clicked because it said Sausage Party and I tagged it Sausage Party... So... yeah. If you want to get a lot of hits to your blog... do that... but yeah. Anyway onto the song! I always liked this song. Its a little weird but its kind of dark and angry and just very cool. I like songs like this and The Carpal Tunnel of Love. I don't know why, they remind me of my birthday for some reason... it makes little to no sense other...

Now for the 8th song from From Under The Cork Tree! Of all the songs I really like on this CD and that I've always liked... this might be my least favorite of all of them. There's nothing bad about it, but its just the worst of the best. Even listening to it now I'm like "Yeah okay... there's a lot too this song... but maybe its too much and its just a little boring." I'm sure people have lyrics from this song as tattoos... but I don't understand why this song would need to be on anyone's body for the rest of their life. Its not bad... its just like if the rest of the songs were Ben and Jerry's... this song would be the Up and Up brand of Ice Cream... not saying Up and Up is bad... its just not Ben and Jerry's. I like the line about the matches... I don't understand what they're saying and I feel like this blog is more authentic if I don't look it up... so I'm not going to. Thats my favorite line of the song though. ...

I wasn't expecting to love this song hearing it now as much as I do... but the lyrics of this song are probably my favorite and of all of Fall Out Boys songs... I think these are the ones that stuck with me the most. "The best part of believe is the lie" "I swear I'd burn this city down to show you the light." It's stuff that really matters and it sticks with you. "Take your tears, put them on ice." That's all good. This doesn't give me the happy feeling the way that I think 7 minutes in heaven did... but this one I feel better. I'm like "Yeah, I still like Fall Out Boy and these lyrics still mean something to me." Which is cool. All these years later, I'm still on board with this song. I guess that's a good thing! It is a good message though... singers lie to us. You can't really trust anyone other than yourself because people just like to tell you what you want to hear... cause that's just who they ar...

So this one I was excited to listen to after last weeks episode. This was never my favorite song... but I kind of bundle this in with the next 3 songs and this is my favorite of that little bundle... so yeah! This is one I was excited to listen to again. And this is one that makes me feel super young again... but I feel like I'm still young enough for this song to be cute to me. Does that make sense? It still feels very relevant to me. Not that I'm sitting out dances on the wall or anything like that... but I know what that feels like. I can relate to this song. Also its just catchy. Very uplifting after the previous song... or even just after Nobody Puts Baby In The Corner (since I usually skip the Dark Ally song). This is just a nice catchy one. I feel like a lot of why I like it is the same as why I like Dance Dance. Gosh... these titles are far too long! This is the one song by Fall Out Boy I can honestly say I never liked... and I've liked it a little bit over times to the point where I wasn't skipping the song when I listened to the album... and there are some great lines in this... but ultimately, it's my least favorite Fall Out Boy Song. I feel like I should compare this... but this is kind of hard. Arrested Development is my favorite show, and I would say that my least favorite episode of that show is still better than any other show on tv... but this is different because I just don't like this song. And its even more of a let down because its on after my favorite song... and I know last time I did a review I said I didn't think that song really held up as that good... but I still really like it... this one I just don't like. Alright! Here we go! This one is my favorite song from From Under The Cork Tree... Possibly one of my favorites from Fall Out Boy... And honestly... listening to it right now, I don't love it the way I did before. I mean I still think its really clever written and it still probably is my favorite... but I don't feel like a kid listening to it, I just feel like "This was the best song by Fall Out Boy... back in the day." I think its still my favorite, but if I were to have to choose between this or one of their newer songs on the radio... I'd pick one of the newer songs! It's kind of a bittersweet feeling. Its really sad to type out that this song was a little bit of a let down... but at the same time... I know its not. I'm happy that I like their newer songs more, not because new is better... but Fall Out Boy is older now and I am too. What I do really miss about their older songs is that they all sound different... now all the new songs by Fall Out ...

I've probably heard this song the most recently of any songs on the cd. They still play it on the radio from time to time. This is the first song I ever heard from Fall Out Boy. Again, like the last song... I didn't understand any of the words! This is my first "favorite song" from when I was starting to get into music because I wanted to be cool. It was this and some Gwen Stefani ironically enough... Something terrible happens every time I listen to Gwen Stefani... so I never listen to her anymore. So that is ironic. I've gotta say, I don't think this is as fun as Dance, Dance was. The memories tied to this one are still good... but different maybe? I remember trying to do the lick salute that Pete did in the music video and they played this at their concerts all the time. It still isn't as amazing as I thought it was. Still good... Ahhh Dance, Dance! I did not like this song when I first heard it. I didn't understand a word of it... but Patrick Stump was cute and the music video was funny... so I kept listening to it and it grew on me and I ended up loving it and wanting the CD. Eventually I listened to this song every time I got ready in the morning. I understand every word now and I even whisper the "we're going into D Minor" part. It's still really catchy and upbeat. I haven't heard this song in years and I'm so excited listening to it now! They're totally going to play this at my wedding! I just think its funny that I couldn't understand a word of Fall Out Boy and now I can't not understand it... and I still know the words! I was kind of expecting to hate this song now... but I love it! I might even like it even better! This is my kind of song! I love it! If this were on the radio today I'd still like it! I might have even liked it more than I did original...

Song 2 from From Under The Cork Tree! This probably is one of my favorite songs from the cd. I'm listening to it now and I feel so old though! And I'm sure Fall Out Boy was probably around my age when this song was released... so I shouldn't feel that old... but this specifically makes me feel really old. I feel like a teenager listening to it... and its a weird feeling. Its almost making me blush too because too because its making me think of boys I had crushes on. I would always listen to this song.  This one is easy to sing also and I like it! It really is the closest thing to Time Travel that I think you can get.  This is another one of those songs that made me an accidental Fall Out Boy fan too because I didn't think I'd like anything other than Dance, Dance and Sugar We're going down... but I listened to this by mistake... and I ended up loving it!  So yeah! That is everything, give an old song you loved a listen, its a pretty close way to Time Trave...

So I'm doing a new Throwback Thursday Scribbles About Music where I go over every song from an album every other week (or maybe every week?). I'm starting with the CD That got me into music... From Under The Cork Tree by Fall Out Boy. And This is the first song... and the title is too long for me to keep repeating so I'm going to call it Lawyers. Emo Bands have names that are far too long as I've noticed over the years... so in real life I refer to their songs as something like "Number 5" or "The Song Before Dance, Dance" Or something like that. When I first bought this cd it was before I had an Ipod... before Iphones even existed. It was 10 years ago I think... I was 14 when I got this cd I think... so yeah.... thats quite a while and I still like it! I chose the CD because Fall Out Boy has been my favorite band for like 10 years... and it really hasn't changed. I don't listen to all their songs all the time any more... but I still think I...

So I don't know Prince songs all that well... but I am a fan and I thought I'd talk about some of his songs and why he has a big influence in my life. There aren't any Prince songs I know all the words to or anything... there are some songs that I didn't know he sang until today... which is what made me a fan of David Bowie, so that's cool. He's influenced a ton of musicians today though. For one: Ke$ha. She is also from Minnesota and she actually got her start by breaking into his house and dropping off her EP. Luckily, she's a talented singer, and Prince was a religious man (probably at the time) so it was probably easy for him to forgive her and give her a chance. That's important to me because really I do like Kesha's music. So my dad is sharing his apple music with me because I kind of get bored with music easily... so yeah. This is good for me. If I like the songs enough I'll probably buy them... but I don't love hearing the same things over and over again... so Apple music is good for me. This might be a little bit of a boring post... but I'm still going to write it. Lol. So I only have albums downloaded right now... If I have singles I tend not to listen to them. I do have one single though and that is Hotline Bling from Drake... I don't like Drake that much... but I can get on board with this song. Its pretty okay. I think its mostly because of American Horror Story. The main reason I have Apple Music is because I actually like Justin Bieber right now and I feel a little embarrassed actually owning his cd... and I don't think my dad wanted his daughter owning a Justin Bieber CD either, so I have that on here too write now. So this is cool. Fall Out Boy and Demi Lovato recently re-created the It's Gonna Be Me music video with their song Irresistible... so I thought it'd be fun to compare the two a little bit and just say what I like about both of them. Nsync- Its Gonna Be Me  This is a fun video. Back in the 90s, boy band videos were always really really fun, but I think this one and the Backstreet Boys song Everybody were particularly memorable and fun. So this has a special place in my heart. Also... I don't think I actually had any of the Nsync dolls. I feel like I wasn't a fan for a long time... but I was a pretty big fan and I still like their music a lot. Justin Timberlake is great. I think the rest shine brightest while in the boy band... but Timberlake was clearly outstanding even back then! So basically the Nsync dolls are trapped in a Toy Store and they're trying to get the attention of a girl that is buying GI Joe toys... so they start dancing and get the help of some...
