Chart Chat (1.16.18)

Here's the top 10 movies of the week! Hope you guys like this! I'm also including some of the info about the movies and how long they've been out and how much money they made this week and how much total... so let me know what you think about that! I like doing that! 10) Darkest Hour - (8th week on the chart. 5.6 million this week, 36.8 million total)  I think this was on the charts and off the charts... but I believe with Gary Oldman's recent Golden Globe Win, plus more theaters picking it up now... it's gotten a little more buzz and is making a little bit more money because of that. Compared to the other movies this week... 36 million isn't bad... that's higher than the total that the Number 1 movie of the week has grossed in it's 4 weeks on the chart... although of corse this has been out for 8 weeks instead of just 4. I have a feeling this will jump up the charts a little more because it's getting more buzz. I think Gary Oldman is a really gr...

10) Lady Bird- Still want to see this movie. It just looks funny and a fun movie! I'm happy it's still on the charts- I think there will be some Oscar nominations for this... I think it looks like a great movie and it has a lot of great critical reviews... so I'm happy for this one! 9) Murder on The Orient Express- This one looks really good too! Great cast... really want to see it- hopefully I will get a chance too... it just looks so great! 8) The Disaster Artist- This looks great too! And I want to see it! I haven't seen all of The Room... It is a pretty fantastic terrible movie- it's just kind of hard to sit and watch. It starts out with like 30 very awkward sex scenes. I feel like I want to see it in theaters- I know it kind of has a Rocky Horror quality to it now. I think it's available on Youtube also... but they say you should watch The Room before seeing this movie. I think James Franco is a great actor and to see him playing a bad actor sounds like...

Chart Chat 12/8/17

Heyyy guys! Here's what's on the charts this week! 10) A Bad Mom's Christmas- I think this had disappeared from the charts and it's coming back for Christmas maybe? I'm not sure but I think this looks wayyy better than Daddy's Home 2 and I'm surprised it's not performing as well at the Box Office. 9) The Star- This is a cute religious cartoon with celebrity voices... I don't think I'll see it but it does look really cute and maybe if you wanted to teach your kids the story of Jesus's birth- this is a good movie. 8) Lady Bird- This looks sooo good and relatable to me. Lol. I just want to see this! 7) Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri- I like Woody Harrelson kind of sort of... but this doesn't look like my thing. Maybe... idk. I'm not planning on watching it any time soon. 6) Murder On The Orient Express- I want to see this! 5) Daddy's Home 2- I don't want to see this! I do like John Lithgow so maybe I'll...

Chart Chat (11.14.17)

10) Lady Bird- This got amazing reviews and Oscar Buzz from Sandy Kenyon who said that he really loves being a movie critic for having the chance to see little movies like this. And he said this movie will be talked about in the future around Oscar time. It sounds amazing! 9) Happy Death Day- I've talked about wanting to see this before... but I have to say I don't love the repetitive type movies like 50 First Dates... I've never seen Groundhog Day... but maybe I'll give this a chance when it's on TV or video... as long as I don't have to see it on my birthday... which is why I didn't want to see this. 8) Blade Runner 2049- I'm just kind of waiting for this to leave the charts. 7) Geostorm- This sounds interesting... but not my thing. Lol. I'm surprised it's still on the charts... but it's been on for a bit I think... and that's a thing. 6) Tyler Perry's Boo 2: A Madea Halloween- Surprised to see this on the charts also still....

Chart Chat- Clowns back on top? And other stuff (October 2nd 2017)

Alright... you can probably tell what the number 1 movie is already... but let's start with 10 anyway because who doesn't love a countdown? 10) Mother!- Probably the end of it's week on the charts... one of the worst reviewed movies of the year which is also said to be one of the most disturbing movies of the year... and while people are comparing it to Rosemary's Baby... I think it's a lot different than that and people aren't liking it very much... so if you want to catch Mother! Catch it soon in theaters... but something's telling me you can skip this one. It reminded me a bit of a couple of skits in the movie The Holidays- which was an anthology of horror movies- they had a Mother's Day story and I forget what exactly happened... but I believe it was similar... and they had a St. Patrick's Day sketch that was a little more humorous... those come to mind- I did a review on that a while ago. Wow... I reviewed this over a year ago!  here  is the l...

Chart Chat! 9.25.17

Heyyy guys! I'm a little surprised at this week's charts... I know it was a tough call what would be number 1... and I'm not that surprised at number 1... but I'm a little surprised at number 3... so I'm just going to get into it and we'll talk a little bit about these movies! 10) Wind River- This has been on the charts for 8 weeks! I don't believe it's ever been at number 1 in those 8 weeks... it sounds okay but it could also maybe be bad IMHO... I'll watch it on TV if I get super bored...but I'm not that interested. 9) Stronger- This movie does sound very interesting. Jake Gyllenhaal has already got some Oscar Buzz for this role ... I want to see this. It looks sad though but the actors are very talented and I think they'll do a great job with it! This is based off of a true story- I mentioned that in the weekly Pop. This still isn't wide released... so I think it will do a lot better in upcoming weeks. 8) The Hitman's Body Gu...

Chart Chat 8.21.17

Onto the Chart Chat! I wanted to write this last night... but it was pretty late when I got home... so I just couldn't do it! 10) Wind River- Something tells me this movie is going to be complained about for being insensitive... maybe not though. It's about a murder investigation on a Native American reservation. It stars Jeremy Renner... who stars in every movie that's ever been released in August as far as I know... idk. I'm not the biggest fan of Jeremy Renner... I just idk. It does sound like the movie Witness with Harrison Ford... which is also a terrible movie if you ask me... lol. I know it got good reviews... but it was just kind of weird. Anyway yeah... number 10 on the charts- probably not a wide released movie... hopefully they were sensitive to other cultures in this. I'll check out reviews before watching it on TV. 9) The Dark Tower- This isn't off the charts yet, huh? This is one I'll maybe watch in a "Shannon watches things that annoy...

Chart Chat 8.4-8.6

Alrighty! Top 10 movies... I don't know what #1 is... so that's weird... but I'll find out. Lol. 10) Despicable Me 3- My favorite movie of the summer... also the only movie I've seen this summer. And I love it... I imagine it's leaving theaters soon- but I'd recommend seeing it. 9) War of The Planet of the Apes- Not my thing... but it could be someone's thing. This series of movies look more like my thing than other versions of Planet of The Apes... so that's good. 8) Detroit- I really like John Boyega...  I thought he was great in The Force Awakens... I'm excited that he's doing more than that... but this movie I think has already gotten some criticism... I'm not really sure what and I only half heard the review... but I'd imagine this is a hard movie to watch but a hard story to tell as well. I kind of want to watch it because of John Boyega... but I'm probably nor going to see it in theaters. 7) Atomic Blonde- This looks pr...

Chart Chat: 7.2.17

Alrighty! I saw the number one movie of the week this week... and I have thoughts of the other movies... so I'm excited to share this Chart Chat with everyone! 10) Pirates of The Carribean: Dead Men Tell No Tales- 6 weeks on the top 10 list... not too bad for the end of the series... presumably. I think Johnny Depp has a lot of fun with these movies, and they're doing really well... so I'd be a little surprised if this was the end of these. I don't think this is the highest grossing POTC... but I'm guessing it'll still do really great worldwide. 9) The Mummy- 74.5 million in the US so far and it's 4th week on the charts... not great considering the budget of the movie was 125 million. It'll do really well worldwide... and I think that's how the rest of the Universal Dark Universe will be... unless they strike gold with The Invisible Man... which I could see happening and I kind of hope it does. I'd be more excited if they kind of embraced the...

Chart Chat 6.26.17

Alrighty! Let's see what's number 10... and then what's number 1. With the other numbers in the middle! 10) Guardians of The Galaxy Volume 2- Ughhhh I wanted to see this movie! I thought I'd see it this weekend... life happened so I didn't see it but I hope it's on DVD soon because I don't think I'll see it before it goes out. If I see any movie it'll be Despicable Me 3... and idk if I'll see that... so yeah. 9) Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie- This looks funny. This was another one that I was kind of surprised by... similar to the new Smurfs movie... I thought this would be a little bit more popular than it was. I can see why it wasn't... but it looks like a fun story of Friendship and it just looks fun! 8) Rough Night- Idk about this one... hasn't been doing to well on the charts either... so I'm guessing a lot of people were like "nahhh... I'd rather see The Mummy." Which is a little shocking to me... b...

Chart Chat 6.19.17

Lotta new movies on this list this week... not exactly where I thought they would be either... but there's a lot of good stuff out there right now... so let's see what's going on! 10) It Comes at Night- This movie looked bad... I think this will be the last week at the charts... it's probably not bad... but I couldn't get what it was about from the trailer and it was a horror movie that looked scary enough but... meh. 9) Guardians of The Galaxy Volume 2 -  Ugh I hope this is staying on the charts next week because maybe I'll actually get to see it. I love Guardians and I know by the time I review it it won't really be relevant... but it's a good series... so I bet it'll be good and people will love it. Hopefully it's just as funny as the first! 8) Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie- This looks really funny... I can kind of see why it isn't all that high in the charts! The other day at the mall a little girl saw the movie poster an...

Chart Chat 6.5.17

Sorry I didn't post this weekend on either blog... I've been kinda busy and the blogs aren't my #1 focus right now... so I might miss a blog here or there... I'm trying lol. Anyway here are the top 10 movies of the moment and what I think about them! 10) King Arthur: Legend Of The Sword- Hopefully this is the last time I'll have to talk about this! Unless I do decide to write a blog where I watch movies I kind of bash in the chart chat because I can't relate to them. Lol. 9) Diary of A Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul- Again... hopefully I won't have to talk about this anymore. Lol. This one isn't so bad that I would include it in those blogs... more because it isn't my type of movie because it's not for my age group... it isn't really a terrible movie per se its just not going to be relevant to an adult woman. 8) Snatched- I love Amy Schumer... idk if I'll get to see this movie. Maybe if it's still in theaters the next few weeks I'...

Chart Chat: 5/29/17

10) Beauty and the Beast- Number 10 this week in it's 11th week on the charts! Not too bad! It has been out since St. Patrick's day... just for reference so that is a long time! I'm guessing it will be out of theaters next week- so see this one while you can. It was really good and I'm excited for the Blu Ray to come out! 9) The Boss Baby- This is the 9th week on the charts for the surprise hit: Boss Baby. I'm guessing this will be out of theaters soon as well... so catch it while you can... it looked obnoxious to me... but what do I know- people loved this and must have seen it multiple times! 8)King Arthur: Legend of the Sword- This has been out for 3 weeks... not doing great domestically... but I bet it will be international soon and these types of action movies seem to do really well in other countries. So that's good... it is still kind of a flop... and it probably won't be at the movies much longer... but it'll do okay. 7) Snatched- Another m...

Chart Chat 5.22.17

Top 10 of the week! We've got a lot of new movies and an alien movie beat out another alien movie! Let's get right into it. 10) How To Be a Latin Lover- This movie made 29.5 million dollars in the 4 weeks it's been on the charts... including one week when I believe it was the #1 or #2 movie in the country. Not too bad... but the number 1 and number 2 movie this week both grossed over 30million this week alone... so that's something. Right? I was going to say "I guess people didn't want to be a latin lover that bad" but... it did make a lot of money anyway... so that's a thing. This is probably not going to be on the charts next week... so I just wanted to come up with something else interesting to say about it because the last four weeks I've been like "Yeah... Salma Hayak amiright?" 9) Beauty and The Beast- This movie has done pretty darn well! It is its 10th week on the charts and it has made in total 497.8 Million!!!! That's a ...

Chart Chat 5.15.17

Alrighty! Top 10 movies! Can Snatched with Amy Schumer or the movie with Charlie Hunam that needs no plot because Charlie Hunam is in it beat Guardians of the Galaxy? Nope! Spoilers. 10) Bauhubali 2: The Conclusion- This did pretty well in the US for a foreign film. It's the third week on the charts and it's been slipping since then... doesn't sound like my cup of tea... but it's probably better than Ghost in The Shell right? The movie at least... I might try watching animae sometime. 9) The Circle- This has a very low rating on Rotten Tomatoes according to my mom... I still want to see it. Maybe it's predictable or just not what everyone was expecting... gotta admit that is one exciting cast though! I hope they do more movies together. Lol. 8) Lowriders- First week on the charts off to a bad start! Based on the  IMDB description  this actually kind of interests me. It's about a street artist and his relationship with his father and his brother who is in t...

Chart Chat 5.8.17

This Chart Chat is only slightly more interesting than last weeks... but I'll take it! Lol. 10) Smurfs: The Lost Village- I feel like it was too soon for another Smurfs movie... maybe Smurfs aren't really ever going to be a thing again... maybe the live action movie kind of ruined it... and it just isn't as cute in CGI as it was compared to when it was first on in the 80s. I wanted to see this one... but I feel like it's hard to make people like smurfs! 9) Going In Style - I was surprised this movie didn't do better... but at the same time... I feel like this suffers the same thing as the Smurfs. It's just not anyone's first choice for a movie... there are other movies like it and while it might be really good... it didn't get great reviews and it seems like this movie has been out before. 8) Gifted - This seems like another good movie that just wouldn't be anyone's first choice to see in theaters. Some people love seeing these smaller movi...

Chart Chat: Weekend of April 28th-30th

Another slow week at the movies... so not a ton to say here on the Chart Chat... but next week I'm hoping for Guardians of The Galaxy 2 to make things a little more exciting. There's a chance I'm seeing it on Friday... probably not... but I'll see it in the near future... so yeah! 10) Unforgettable- This is already forgotten! It's the same as the Beyonce movie that came out a few years ago but with Katherine Heigl instead of Ali Larter... who looks JUST like Katherine Heigl to me... idk if Beyonce can't make a movie concept good... neither can Katherine Heigl... I've talked about this movie more than I needed to already... save your money- watch it when it's on Lifetime in 10 years. 9) Gifted- This looks good too... but yeah. Not really the #1 movie I would pick on the box office. Chris Evans is hot and I'm not super into Captain America... so I think I'll enjoy this a little bit more... but it's still not going to get me to the movies! ...

Chart Chat: April 21st-23rd 2018

So here's the weekend box office results! The top 10 movies in the United States... so yeah! Here we go! 10) The Lost City of Z- This does not sound like it's going to be a fun week for me at all... ohhh boy. I have no idea what this movie is about... I'm going to venture a guess it's something I have no interest in seeing... let's see... Ohhh okay... Who care's what it's about- something about a lost city in the 1920s... but it stars Charlie Hunham... so that's definitely worth watching. Doesn't seem to be doing well at all. This is week 2 and it wasn't on the charts last week... so we'll see what happens with this? It must have been a film festival movie or a foreign movie because it says 2016... so yeah. Idk about this one... but it's a thing. 9) The Promise- Another film festival movie... goody! My favorites... this is about the Ottoman Empire or something and there is a love triangle or something. Christian Bale in it... so yea...

Chart Chat 4.17.17

Heyyy guys! Sorry for not posting the last couple of days... busy days! Hope everyone is having a good week! If you guys want to compare this too last week's top 10 you can click  here  to check out what I thought of last week's chart. I'm a little happy Logan and Ghost in The Shell are off the charts... I'm not so happy that The Fate of the Furious was released... lol. 10) Kong Skull Island- I'm hoping this is nearing the end of the charts because I'm a little sick of talking about it... lol. I think I've said all I need to say about this movie... I don't want to see it! Thank Goodness Ghost in The Shell is off the charts! Lol. 9) The Case for Christ- I think I predicted last week that this would jump up the chart in it's second week... and believe it or not- It did! It was 10th on the charts last week and this week it's number 9. Not really my cup of tea for a movie... but Faye Dunaway is in it... that's something. She was the only name...

Chart Chat: 3.20.17

Exciting week of the charts! I actually saw the #1 movie in America! I'll have a review of that tomorrow I think! 10) Before I Fall- Third week on the charts! This will probably be the last week of the charts... but I was hoping John Wick Chapter 2 would be off the charts by now and it clearly wasn't. Let's see what the movie is about because I never actually looked up what it was about. I just know Elena Kamporis is in it and I love her. Ohhh okay so it's scary groundhog day. I think a teenager is living her last day over and over again on February 12th... so 10 days after groundhog day. Not subtle... but it sounds like something I'll watch on TV one day... 9) John Wick Chapter 2- Ohhh great... John Wick Chapter 2 is on the charts for the 6th week in a row. Maybe I should see the first one... clearly this is a thing! 8) Hidden Figures- Lucky number 13 weeks on the chart! Still going strong! I really want to see this still. I think it's still playing aroun...
