Funko Friday: Ron Swanson Pop

So- I've been wanting to do Funko Fridays... and I thought I would start with this Ron Swanson Pop cause he's kind of amazing. I will probably post some Disney Pops on my Disney Blog... but everything else will be on this one! I'm an out of the box collector... so I didn't keep the box of this one... but I almost did keep it just because the box was really, really cool! It is very, very Parks and Rec... it just looks like the show and it's just pretty cool. It really reminds me of Ron Swanson's office... which is super cool. There are a lot of other pops in this line... well 4 more not including the rarer more exclusive Andy Dwyer pops... I think this is the only pop I would really want from the line. I do love Leslie Knope and if I ever find it somewhere... but Idk this is an older line so I didn't think I'd ever get the Ron Swanson one- and I was really excited to find it at FYE. This is the only one I really want from the line... cause it...

Scribbles About TV: Trial and Error Review

So I've been excited about this show since I first heard about it... It looks like Arrested Development but with Murder... and I would say there's a lot of Parks and Rec in it as well... which I wasn't expecting... So this Pilot had everything that I love. Funny cast... nonstop jokes... very very dark humor... and the #1 thing on my loves list of shows: A SMALL RURAL TOWN! I never really realized how important the small town vibe was to me... but I'm writing something now and I've been watching Friends and Crazy Ex Girlfriend... and there's a big difference between the Manhattan setting of Friends vs West Covina, California- which is of corse the setting of Crazy Ex Girlfriend.... but yeah. Each setting is fitting for each show... and really this small, rural town in South Carolina is PERFECT for this murder mystery comedy. So yeah all of those elements were great... but the characters are also hilarious for this. The lawyer is sort of the main character in ...

Scribbles About Food: Caribou Coffee Sea Salt Caramel Iced Coffee

I started drinking this... and I just figured why not do a scribbles about food on this. I'm almost done with it. I think this is something that is more of a "healthy" option compared to some other iced coffee drinks at the grocery store... like the Starbucks ones. I've tried a lot of other iced coffee drinks so I wanted to give this one a try. Maybe its a better option. "No High Fructose Corn Syrup, artificial flavors, or preservatives."... Okay... nevermind this being a "healthy option." On the back the nutritional info says that 1 bottle is about two servings... so it is 150 calories for one serving... which isn't bad. But for the bottle its 260 calories... which is kind of ridiculous. I don't think its a ridiculous amount of calories... but come on. This isn't something you're going to keep in the fridge after drinking half of it... this is something you're going to drink all at once. So... that's a little sneaky mar...

Woman Crush Wednesday: Retta

1) Her twitter- I mentioned Retta's twitter in my Parks and Rec Recs because its one of the really good twitters. She watches good shows and live tweets, I think she still does that... I'm not super into twitter. But hers make me smile. She tells it like it is and she's cool. She's a cool twitter person to follow, so you should follow her to be cool. Peer Pressure! Lol. (side note, I always want to spell peer pressure Pier Pressure because of Arrested Development.) Just checked out her twitter and I really need to get back into this cause she has some great live tweets of shows like How To Get Away With Murder and Empire. 2) She was scared to be on Parks and Rec- So this is kind of a weird way to phrase this. On Seth Meyers she mentioned that she wasn't an improvisor before the show. She was just a comedian, but she was kind of scared to do improv on the show and intimidated by Amy Poehler and everyone... but she did it and she killed it! She was amazing as Donna....

Scribbles About TV: End of Feb 2015

Big Week for TV! Oscars, Parks and Rec Series Finale, How to Get Away With Murder Season Finale... plus a lot of other good shows. Its one of Jon Stewarts last shows! Lol. Every week now until he leaves is I guess... but yeah. Lol. I watched The Oscars. I don't usually watch the full thing, but I did this year because... we had leftover appetizers from the superbowl, so I invited my friend over lol. Now I'm watching Jimmy Kimmel. I don't watch Jimmy Kimmel often because when Nia Vardalos was on promoting Connie and Carla, I thought he was a little disrespectful for her because he would only mention meeting Quentin Tarantino when she was on... and idk. I think I may have misjudged him a little bit, because I've seen some of his other shows and he is really quite funny and seems pretty normal and he's friends with a lot of other celebrities. His shows always do really fun bits, the episode Matt Damon hosted was really funny. And his monologue was really good for...

Things from Parks and Rec That Need To Exist IRL

I was reflecting on Parks and Rec a little bit, and I thought of several things where I'm like "man, that needs to be a thing in real life." So, to continue Parks and Rec Week a little, I'm going to talk about some of these things. In No Particular Order. 1) Thoughts for Your Thoughts- This radio show just sounds amazing. First off, the voice of the host (or I guess the fill in host) is amazing, plus they always do interesting interviews and play music I'm sure you won't hear anywhere else. It just seems like it should be an actual show.  2) The Time Traveler's Optometrist- They made Leslie Knope's Pawnee book, they should definitely make The Time Traveler's Optometrist... it sounds awful but I'm sure the writers of Parks and Rec would make it really funny.  3) Crazy Ira and The Douche- Shock jocks with fart sounds? Yes! This probably exists already, but they are from Pawnee, so that makes it better.  4) Dennis Feinstein's ...

Scribbles About TV: Parks and Rec Finale Review (Spoilers.)

Wow. Just wow. I absolutely love this show and I've been saying its the greatest show on television since Arrested Development for forever. I'd also like to add that the writers, producers, directors, actors and everyone that had a hand in making this show are absolutely some of the smartest and funniest people ever. Pawnee is the best fictional town ever... and yeah. Anyone with a hand in this series is an incredible human being and I love you. I sound like Craig, lol. Okay so I already knew this wouldn't disappoint as I've never been disappointed by anything on this show ever. I would have been upset if Rashida Jones and Rob Lowe weren't on, but I knew they would be. I would have been a little upset if they had referenced the documentary the way the office did. Idk... I just think its weird that after 9 years on the office they were just like "ohhh by the way this is a documentary we've been working on for 9 years." Did anyone else think that was...

Parks and Rec Recs

So here is a little random post for you... Since Parks and rec  is ending tonight... I thought I might give some recommendations for things you may enjoy if you need your parks and rec fix... First I'm going to recommend following some of the cast members on twitter and instagram because they post a lot of funny things. The person I would recommend most highly is Rhetta. Her twitter handle is Unforhettable and she's really funny. She'll live tweet, she's just as awesome as Donna Meagle and she's perfect. Evilhag is Aubrey Plaza, PrattPrattPratt is Chris Pratt... I believe Adam Scott and Billy Eichner have twitters and instas. Creator Mike Schur has a twitter. I believe Humble Brag is still up which was created by a writer/ producer Harris Wittels (R.I.P.) There is a lot going on on twitter with these guys, so yeah. If you like Podcasts, one podcast that has a very similar humor to Parks and Rec with some similar elements is Welcome to NightVale. This is podcast ...

Man Crush Monday: Aziz Ansari (Parks and Rec Week)

(this pic shows exactly how I look at art. Lol)  1) His comedy is really unique because its a bit of everything- Aziz always does things like talk about pop culture, he name drops, he talks about his family, talks about dating, tells stories that he makes up, he talks about food, he sings... he just does a little bit of everything and he does it really really well. I think his first comedy special... Intimate Moments or something that its called really shows that. He even does an over-the top Dane Cook-type comedian thats supposed to be bad and he does it really good! He even told one joke as Randy, the character he does (from the movie Funny People) and one just as Aziz and its so funny to see the difference between the way he tells the same joke. Its something not a lot of people can do, and he does it brilliantly because he can do a little bit of everything. 2) He pokes fun at himself- He doesn't poke fun at himself too much, but he's okay with poking fun at himself a...

Scribbles about TV: 3rd week of Feb 2015

So the week started out pretty good. I watched John Mullaney's New In Town. Its really funny. Mullaney is adorable and I think his stand up is really funny. I heard little bits of it before, and I really liked it, so I watched the full thing now, and its good. I watched some of Halloweentown, the old Disney movie... but I did get a little bored. I didn't actually finish it, I just watched up until the first commercial, so really nothing at all... but you know. Its a thing. Comedy Central had a pretty good movie marathon on on Valentines day and I watched the tail end of it, so I saw some of the dirtier movies. I watched Mean Girls, The Hangover and for the first time I watched Zach and Miri Make A Porno. I've wanted to see that movie for a long time, but I wasn't 17 when it came out... so that didn't happen. Lol. I saw it on Comedy Central, so its basically a G-Rated version... but its okay. I liked it overall. And then after all of those movies they had some ...

Man Crush Monday: The Men of Pawnee Indiana

So let me just say... if Pawnee Indiana existed outside of the show Parks and Recreation, I would move there right away because they have some nice men... sure all of them are married... but still. A girl can dream. Also I believe Jean Ralphio is still single... so yeah. Future Mrs. Saperstein right here. Lol. First off... gotta mention Ron Swanson. He is the manliest man of all. That is kind of my type I guess, idk lol. I like that he has interests like Woodworking and he likes sports and bacon and doesn't like losing, but he's good with kids and he even has a sensitive side (or rather Duke Silver has a sensitive side I suppose). The only thing wrong with dating Ron Swanson is his two rather crazy ex wives, each named Tammy. Actually I might be his type too... I'm brunette and like bacon. I'm not a fan of steak though, but whatever. He can eat more than. And then on the opposite end of the spectrum: Tom Haverford. He would be awesome to date because he's not a ...

Woman Crush Wednesday: Leslie Knope

Leslie Knope is probably my favorite female character of all time... here is why shes' awesome. 1) She is an amazing best friend- She is such a good friend to Ann Perkins and pretty much everyone else in her life. Its no wonder why Jeremy Jamm thinks of her as his best friend! She is so nice and thoughtful and will do anything for her friends and go a thousand times above and beyond and outdo herself every year. Thats how good she is as a friend. And even more than that, she can be friends with absolutely anybody, even if they are complete opposites or have nothing in common. Leslie and Ron are opposed on everything, and yet somehow they're amazingly good friends. Leslie and April really have nothing in common, but they're best friends too. Its not something everyone can do, but Leslie can.  2) She might be "bossy" or "stubborn" but with good reason- If someone were to call Leslie Knope either of those words, I would personally take offense. It isn...

Scribbles about TV: New show reviews+ Final season reviews

I'm going to do another "what I watched this week... but there are lots of new shows I'd like to review, plus the beginning of the final seasons of both Parks and Rec and Kroll show... so I'd like to talk about those also. Togetherness  I'm a big fan of the Duplass brothers, so I was going to watch the show just because they're the creators and directors and Mark Duplass stars in it... so I was excited about that. To be honest though, if the Duplass brothers had nothing to do with this series, I probably wouldn't watch it because its something that seems familiar and sad and the previews looked good but also sad. And it is a little sad, but mostly I think this show is really funny and really good overall. I was pleasantly surprised.  Mark Duplass plays a family man, he and his wife just had a baby and are now going through some problems and they both still do love each other... but they do have a lot of problems. That sounds really sad, but they...

Things I'm excited for in 2015

So I've been wanting to post something about all the movies, tv shows, and other various things I've been looking forward to that are coming out this year... so thats what I'm going to do. There are a lot of things I'm excited about in 2015, like graduating and stuff like that... but I'm just going to focus on the pop culture items lol. The thing I think I'm most excited about in 2015 is of corse Minions. Yes the Minions of Despicable Me are getting their own movie... and I'm really really excited. Despicable Me is my favorite movie of all time, I love the minions and everything about them... I think this movie looks so cute and so creative that I just cannot wait. One thing thats going to happen very soon, that I am both looking forward to and absolutely dreading is the final season of Parks and Recreation. This is my favorite show currently on television, I missed it so much when it wasn't on... I'm so sad to see it go, but I know its going to ...

Scribbles About TV Shows I Can Watch Zillions of Times Without Getting Sick Of Them

I've recently started re-watching some shows I've already seen before and watching again for at least the second time. I thought I might as well post this, because its rare. Arrested Development- Clearly I've seen this show a lot and I'll never ever get sick of it. Whenever it's on tv, it doesn't matter what season I will watch it again and again. I've probably only watched season 4 as a whole 2 times, but still. The original 3 seasons are amazing and I could still watch them when I'm 80 years old and laugh. Breaking Bad- My other Favorite Tv Show! I've started rewatching this because AMC has their Breaking Bad Binge and its still just as good. It's rare for me to watch a drama more than once, but this is definitely something I want to watch again and again. I feel like I should watch the series at least once a year, its just so brilliant. The League- Whenever a new season of The League comes out on Netflix, I always watch the whole thing. ...

Top 5 Friday: Favorite Fictional Characters

This probably isn't the full entire list... But there is a good number of characters here that are definitely favorites of mine. I think right now I'm just going to post about 5 since it is Top 5 Friday... But I watch a lot of tv,and I've seen a lot of movies and read a lot of books... So there will always be more. Lol.  First I want to mention my favorite television character of all time: Gob Bluth. I love Arrested Development obviously and all of the Bluths could be mentioned in this... But Gob is totally what got me to love this show. He's just so strange and funny that he really isn't like any other character on television. He's wacky like Kramer, but not quite as smart. He's kind of dumb and a womanizer like Joey Tribianni, but he's not as dumb and he's got a lot more sadness in him. He's just funny all around and Will Arnett played him to a perfection!  Next I have to mention my other favorite tv character: Ron Swanson. All of the Pawnee r...

Stuff that Happened This Week #2

It's Monday right now... and i'm going to post this on Saturday or Sunday... but a lot of stuff has already happened this week. Some of it has already happened... but I forgot to mention it in post #1 so I thought I'd mention it here too. Also I update this as more stuff happens because it's a week a lot of crap is gonna happen.  So I'll start with the older news and then we'll go on from there. 1) X Factor Is Cancelled After season... ohhh who cares- I'm actually super happy about this. Not that I ever watched X Factor, but I'm happy that it seems like people are less interested in this type of reality show. There are so damn many of these friggin shows on tv right now and for a while nothing was original or funny. I mean Arrested Development was replaced with goddamn Skating With Celebrities! Which failed btw. I'm just happy that a reality show is over and I feel like the craze is FINALLY dying. 2) Ben and Leslie's Lock was stolen- The lo...

Man Crush Monday: Nick Kroll

I don't even know what I have to say about this guy that can't be said. Basically he got his start in the sitcom "Caveman" which was based off of the geico cavemen... and somehow proved himself to be one of the funniest people in the world.  Just anything that he's in makes me laugh incredibly. Even the small role he had in Get Him To The Greek was really funny. On the league he's really funny, Kroll Show is amazing. Basically if you want me to laugh just a little bit more than I would already: Bring in Nick Kroll. The guy is amazing.  Even when he's just a guest star on a show. He was so funny on New Girl when he was on that. On Parks and Rec he is amazing as "the Douche", probably my second favorite guest star after Jean-Ralphio... who isn't much of a guest anymore.  My favorite Kroll Show sketches are the PubLizity sketches because their voices are just so amazing and on point. If you turned it on without knowing it was a sketch...

Woman Crush Wednesday #5- Amy Poehler

I've been wanting to post this for quite some time... And finally the time has come. I get to reveal my woman crush on Amy Poehler, the funniest woman on television, possibly the funniest person in the world tied with Tina Fey. Now when I do these woman crushes and man crushes, it's not someone I have an actual crush on. It's just someone I admire, but I have to say personality-wise, I think Amy Poehler is the sexiest! She's always so bubbly and funny. I mean I don't know Amy personally, but she seems like someone who would totally just light up a room. She also seems so easy to get along with, I feel like we would become BFFS instantly. Because we are both so awesome. And this is kind of sad because I'm still upset by her and Will Arnett's divorce, but I feel like we have similar taste in men. I was DEVASTATED when her and Will broke up, they were like my Brangelina. They are both so beautiful and funny and they have the cutest kids. I think everyone fe...

Woman Crush Wednesday #4 Aubrey Plaza

Sooo since I just talked about Mark Duplass and how much I liked Safety Not Guaranteed, I figured I'd follow up with my woman crush on Aubrey Plaza. Aubrey Plaza is just amazing. I mean on Parks and Rec, in Safety Not Guaranteed... I didn't actually see The To Do List yet, but that looked amazing too. I even downloaded World of Warcraft because of that commercial she was in! She is just perfect. April Ludgate is one of my favorite characters on tv. The way that she interacts with all of the other characters is just so funny. The way that she hates Ann and is annoyed by Chris, but she still cares about them is just really funny. Her relationship with Ron is great, and her and Andy are great. Parks and Rec is such a great show because all of the characters really interact together so well, and I think Aubrey Plaza does a particularly good job of that. Another thing I thought was cool was when she was drunk at the MTV movie awards and got on stage when Will Ferrell...
