Music Monday: Rare by Selena Gomez Album review

So I do like Selena Gomez and I do like a lot of the songs on this album... but after listening to the whole thing I was sort of like "Huh. Not sure I'd listen to this again." Selena Gomez has a really beautiful and powerful singing voice- and I think songs like "Lose You To Love Me" really showcase that in a way that is beautiful and heartbreaking. We all have seen Selena Gomez's public life, we know what she's been through and this song in particular just kind of makes me want to cry and I really do feel for her. I'm happy she wrote this song and got those feelings out there... but this is definitely the strongest song on the album and it really kind of shows her talents the best. The rest of the album though... doesn't highlight her singing voice as much. There are a lot of songs that rely too heavily on Autotune and I just don't think she needs that. The song "People You Know"- a good song for the most part although I do kin...

Music Monday: Thank You Next Album by Ariana Grande Review

I was really excited when the Grammy's were on and I was like "This year I'm going to listen to the whole albums and know what I'm talking about and get more into music" and even though this album isn't from this year... I still liked it and I feel like this helped me kinda know my tastes more. Next week I'm going to review an Album from Selena Gomez... which I also liked but...I feel like Ari is more my style and this album is just a fun and exciting one. Ariana Grande is someone I've always been a casual fan of- but I don't think I've ever listened to an entire album before. I definitely think this is one I can see myself listening to again and again and it definitely makes me want to go back and listen to some of her other albums. I think that the best songs on this album are the ones we all know that were released as singles. They're also the last 3 songs on the album, so "Thank You, Next", "7 rings" and my perso...

Scribbles About Music: Taylor Swift Ready For It

So... I feel like this is slowly becoming a Taylor Swift blog... Lol... It probably isn't... but she just dropped a new single and... now I'm interested in this album... so I'm reviewing it here. PS- Is she dropping a single every week now? Or every other week?  I'll check back on that and maybe I'll review some together... I really want to give fair time to all the new tv shows and even the returning ones coming this month and the next few months really... so yeah! Anyhoo- back to the song... it's kind of a rap song for taylor... and it's kind of sexy- kind of a fantasy type of thing... It reminded me of Wildest Dreams- which is what it's being compared to. I also thought that maybe the rapping thing was maybe a jab at Kanye... because Kanye is a rapper... I really thought that this whole song was about Kanye and that Taylor was kind of playing the character he portrayed her as in his song "Famous" because she mentions that she was a ...

Scribbles About Music: Ed Sheeran Divide Review

This is the cd I've been listening to kind of Non-Stop as of recently. Yep... I capitalize Non Stop now because of Hamilton apparently... we're just going to move passed that and get onto the Ed Sheeran review. This is really good. You know how you can tell I really love it? It's not Hamilton, it's not a musical and I'm still listening to it... and I said "it's better than Joanne by Lady Gaga." GASP! It might just be because I have a massive crush on Ed Sheeran... especially after listening to this album... but yeah. So there are lots of really sad songs on this that could make you cry. Castle on The Hill can get you kind of emotional, Happier is one I think I'd cry to on a bad day... Supermarket Flowers makes me want to cry every time listening to it and the very last song on the cd is Save Myself... which is just the kicker. I mean this in a good way... obviously I like them. It's nice to have some really emotional songs on a cd along wit...

Scribbles About Music: Joanne by Lady Gaga

After Lady Gaga's last cd... I was a little bit underwhelmed. I was hoping this one would be a lot better or at least a little bit better... lol. And I was really impressed with this! It was a little different for Gaga. It still had the sexy-edginess that Gaga is known for... but its more of a chill cd that you can have in the background while doing just about anything... its good blogging music basically. I like having it on in the background when I write for blogs and that's kind of how I've been listening too it. It works and I like it a lot! So I think my favorite song is the one with Florence from Florence and the Machines in it... I wasn't really expecting their voices to work so well together. Florence has a very distinct and unique voice and style. Gaga went a little in that direction with this album. I also kinda like when she does songs that are almost a country songs. John Wayne is a good example of that, Grigio girls... I think what I loved about Born Th...

Scribbles About Music: Death of a Bachelor (by Panic at the Disco) Album Review

Panic at the Disco has always been one of my favorite bands and they have some good and some bad albums... and this may be their best yet! I believe this is the first album without Spencer Smith... so the only original member of the band in this album is Brendon Urie. Jon Walker also not in this, he wasn't the original bass player, but he took over for someone else... so pretty much Brendon Urie is the only person on this album I know in the band and he's always been in the band... ... And I think he IS the band. I would say the worst album from Panic at the Disco is Pretty Odd... I think most people would agree... it just didn't really work... but Urie's voice is still amazing in that and makes it actually tolerable. Lol. And I was upset when Ryan Ross left Panic because I thought he was a great writer. I really loved A Fever You Can't Sweat out... but I think they've gotten even better since he left. And its sad to say that I really didn't want to li...
