Movie Monday: Atomic Blonde... I think I liked it?

So this is another movie that has some problems... but my boyfriend has been telling me to watch it with him for years because it is bad and I finally watched it with him... and it had problems but I didn't hate it.

So this movie is also set in the 80s... so there's a theme here with my last movie being Wonder Woman 1984... and it was actually on the day the Berlin Wall was taken down.

And the ending is kind of a twist... but there are actually a lot of clues to it throughout the movie... There was one time I said to my boyfriend "I keep thinking Charlize Theron's character's accent is bad... but she's from South Africa so she did have a british accent at some point." So... yeah!

And a lot of the events in the movie... I don't understand what exactly anyone was trying to accomplish. One character gets killed... but at that point I was like "Was that really necessary?" I kind of forget what happens but... some of the characters motivations don't make sense. Even listening to breakdowns of the movies... some of the breakdowns contradicted themselves and I think it was just because the movie was hard to follow.

I feel like this is a movie that might be better the second time around because you can kind of understand what's going on. I believe they are making a second movie and I would definitely watch that and watch this one again.

The soundtrack was also really great and one of the fight choreographers in the movie was the same as the fight choreographer from John Wick. Although I didn't think all the fight scenes were that exciting at first... they really do pick up at the end of the movie!

Anyway that is everything! I hope you like this review... I liked the movie... and even though at first I didn't exactly like the movie... the more I think of it the more I'm like "That was kind of fun!"

Bye!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
