Throwback Thursday: Family Man starring Nicholas Cage

Remember a few weeks ago when I did a post on  movies that used to be on all the time when I was a kid?  Well this was on there- and I finally got to re-watch it as an adult... and it was wayyy better than I remember. But there are still some problems with it... so I'm going to talk about it today. One thing that kind of upset me about the movie is that it is directed by Brett Ratner... who was one of the men that was accused of sexual harassment... and it also has Jeremy Piven in the movie... who was another one of those men. So with that I was happy I didn't actually buy the movie. My boyfriend checked it out at his local library because he knew I wanted to see it. Anyway with that being said... the rest of the movie was really enjoyable. It took place in New York and New Jersey. Nick Cage's character is seen leaving his long term girlfriend to go take an internship in London- then we get a flash forward in his life and he's a powerful Wall Street Executive that s...

Movies That Used to Be On All The Time When I Was A Kid

So I thought this would be a fun blog to do. I just wrote a blog about non-holiday movies to watch around the holidays... and then that got me thinking to movies that they used to show ALL THE TIME when I was little but I never see anymore. Some of these were my sister just watching it repeatedly... well the first one is for sure... but it was on a lot when there were less options on tv. Also keep in mind: These aren't actually kids movies... they were just on all the time when I was a kid and if I was in the living room I'd see at least a part of it. 1) So I Married an Ax Murderer-  This was my sister's favorite movie when I was a kid. She probably watched this every day and recited all the words... and I think she had the soundtrack too. This movie is really funny and kind of cute. Mike Myers is a poet/singer/comedian that has bad luck in love... and then he falls in love with a woman that works at a Scottish Butcher or Deli or something... and then he marries her...

Stuff That Happened This Week

1)How I Met Your Mother Finale Shocks everyone- No one saw this end coming. Remember the part in the How your mother met me episode where The Mother says "what are the chances we're both serial killers? That was no joke! The mother tricks everyone into thinking that she's this great person that ended poverty, when in reality she is running a secret Meth Lab underneath Maclarens. She ended up dying of some horrible disease called Badwriting, but not before killing Ted. Ted tells his kids the story as a zombie, and then ends up with Marshall. 2) James Franco proposed to 22 year old college student named Shannon- this was very shocking to everyone, but it just felt right. I mean we've never technically met, but he still proposed because we are obviously soul mates. The whole Instagram thing was just a cover up because he didn't want to go public about the engagement till I posted it here. 3) Science proves chocolate and sugary snacks are all better for you than v...

10 Things That Make Me Happy :)

So I saw some people do this on youtube and I thought it was cool and different so I'm going to do my own personal list. I'm kind of odd... so my things may be very different than most peoples... 1) Dogs- I love all animals, but dogs make me happiest of all. Mainly my malteses, Lucky dog who is not longer with us sadly but I still have so many fond memories of, and of corse my baby Spencer. I also look up a lot of dog and cat videos whenever I'm feeling really sad and it will instantly make me soo sooo happy. 2) Despicable Me/Minions- This is one of the easiest ways to make me happy. Whenever I need a good laugh I will watch Despicable Me or the minion mini movies and I can't help but laugh. I have so many toy minions all over my room... it kind of looks like a kids room and I'm a 22 year old adult... but that just makes me super happy. 3) Penne Vodka- Food in general is really good but my favorite food of all foods is Penne Pasta with Vodka sauce. Never thoug...

Man Crush Monday- Nicholas Cage!

Okay this Man Crush Monday is someone I do not find attractive whatsoever. Nicholas Cage is good. He is a good actor, and his bad movies aren't that bad. I mean sure there are movies like Wicker Man, but Ghost Rider is fantastic! I don't get why people hate Ghost Rider so much I thought it was really cool. I mean a guy that sold his soul to the devil and now becomes a flaming skeleton vigilante at night? How is that not the coolest superhero ever. Nicholas Cage also created one of the most memorable non-superhero heroes, Benjamin Gates in National Treasure. I can never get tired of those movies, and I think its because Nicholas Cage played such a great character. I don't really think any other actor could get the whole historical-nerd treasure-hunting hero thing down. It's just a very different type of movie and I think he really made the character his own. I also think he's a totally weird guy. He's a HUGE comic book nerd, he has a Ghost Rider tattoo, and...
