Throwback Thursday: Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt Season 2

Season 2... I had kind of underestimated. I know I probably gave it a positive review when I first reviewed it last year... but I didn't ever watch it a second time... until just now... and idk. I wasn't super happy with how Titus's story ended at the time... so I think I just thought I didn't love Season 2... but it was a really really good and funny season. In Season 2... we see a lot of the more serious themes of Kimmy's life. Her abandonment issues from her mom and not just her fear of things from The Bunker. Kimmy finally sees a therapist... and even her therapist has issues... nothing seems to be going right for Kimmy and in the end she finds her mom... and things still aren't all that great. So Kimmy realizes her issues will kind of never be solved... but she still kind of accepts things and there's some catharsis in the end for Kimmy and her mom... without there being a real resolution. And... I love Lisa Kudrow as Kimmy's mom. I thought she ...

Scribbles About TV: Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt Season 3

I was really excited for this season after the cliffhanger ending of last season where we find out Kimmy is actually married to the Reverend... and I was hoping that it wouldn't just resolve that problem right at the beginning of the season... but it would let us linger with that a little bit... and it did pretty much let us linger! Not much was resolved with that... and it was interesting. This season was maybe a little bit darker than the first 2 seasons... it was still equally funny but it did kind of touch on the darker subjects that we knew were there... but the tone of the show kind of made it seem different. I don't know it just seemed like we got more insight into what happened in the bunker this year. And I think this season might actually be my favorite because of that partially. There was also a lot of Titus... and I just think they did really well with this season. I was a little bit worried because it was also season 3 of Grace and Frankie and I've mentione...

Throwback Thursday: Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt Season 1

Whenever I was watching a new Netflix show- I would always kind of compare it to Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt's first season and see how it stacked up to that... to my surprise... I don't even think this season is my favorite anymore! Maybe I've just seen it so many times... but I don't know... I just think the show has gotten much better since this season and I'm happy about the direction it's gone in. There is always some Pain from Kimmy from the events that happened to her in the Bunker and that carries through each season... but it's present in different ways from the first season... and I kind of love the direction it's gone in... and this season was probably my favorite so far. Kimmy is a big kid in a grown up world in Season 1... and while she kind of stays the same throughout the show... she is more grown up in Season 3 than at the beginning of the show. Season 1 always has a special place in my heart because it's just sooo funny. I think Se...

Woman Crush Wednesday: Ellie Kemper

Ellie Kemper is one of the awesomest of the awesome ladies... so duhhh I have a woman crush on her! 1) She plays some pretty "shannon-y" characters- All of her characters are very relatable to me and she plays them to perfection pretty much. Independent and smart but also with "phoebe-ish" type qualities. I mean Phoebe from friends if that makes sense lol. Kimmy Schmidt doesn't understand the present because its the future for her. Erin was fun and smart but a little on the silly and awkward side... thats so much like me it isn't even funny. Even in Bridesmaids she was obsessed with Pixar. She's so good. 2) She is fantastic on talk shows- I feel like Ellie is really well spoken on talk shows and in public settings and that makes me like her even more. She was on Ellen and they talked about a lot of things from her engagement story to her being in a haunted hotel and she just always seems like she has something super interesting to say and a lot of gr...

Scribbles about TV: Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt Review

Heyyy guys! I wasn't sure when I was going to finish Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. It was developed for Network Television, so I wasn't going to binge-watch it... but honestly I can't help myself. If its there to binge, bingers gonna binge. I think I'm going to watch it again one more time whole... cause I already started to do that, and then watch it on a more weekly basis. Kind of gives you an idea as to how much I like this series as I'm already talking about watching the entire season 3 times... So the show is about a regular girl that was taken into a cult when she was a teenager and kept underground until she was 29 years old... and she escapes and realizes that she doesn't want to just be a "mole woman" her whole life. She wants to escape her past in Iowa, where she was taken and live in New York City. And she's an adult with an adult brain and everything, but she doesn't understand the world today... so hijinx happens. Lol. She goes to...
