So last we left off on my endeavor to watch The Emoji Movie... I said I couldn't do it after about 30 minutes I just kind of shut down... I wasn't even all that tired... I just kind of shut down- couldn't take any more, forgot I had watched it and then the entire movie came flooding back at me. Well after that... I tried explaining this experience to my friends. I even told them some of the weirder parts of the movie like the fact that the Eggplant Emoji was in it... it almost became an obsession... I was the only person who had seen this movie and I could dictate it to my friends. It was amazing. Then I watched the second half... and I was going in thinking "This is going to be terrible." I knew that most of the second half of the movie was a commercial. And the fact that they could make a horrible, horrible movie just to do a few commercials for apps just seems like a bad idea. But then I watched the second half of the movie... and I thought it was fun. Ma...

So... I decided to watch The Emoji Movie the other day... and it's an experience so far... I don't think that I can actually watch the full thing... so this may end up being a series on this blog where I do 3 or so installments. Now I thought "this movie will surely get better" but now that I've had a bit of time to reflect on this first installment of the movie... I realized it probably does not. The last moment I watched was when they very first meet Jailbreak... and just from the brief appearance I saw of hers... I thought she was a great character... again I've only seen a few seconds of her... but she brought an energy that I wasn't getting from High 5... And let's talk about the High 5 Emoji... because as far as characters in movies go... High 5 is probably the least likable and my least favorite... it's bad. I didn't think there was anything that would make me dislike James Corden... but this High 5 Emoji is pretty terrible. And if...

So this is kind of a weird post… but I just saw a really cute commercial on The Disney Channel while watching Toy Story 2… and I thought it deserved a blog post. Plus I thought I’d connect it with some other things.  The advertisement was for the Disney Emoji app that they have out now and I guess they have new Steamboat Willie Emojis… so they kind of did the Steamboat Willie Cartoon, but with the emojis and with different phone-related things and it was just really really cute!  I thought it was just going to be like a regular commercial just showing that Steamboat Willie emojis… but then they sort of had it like it was a conversation between Mickey Mouse and Pete, I guess. They showed a meme of pete looking angry and it said “I’m the Captain Now” which I thought was really funny… and they had like an audio message of Mickey Mouse Whistling and then they had an Uber like thing called “Hoyst” that gave an update on their boat… it was pretty funny! I thought this would be kind of fun to do. As I've mentioned... I recently saw Despicable Me 3 and I thought it would be a good idea to post about the previews that accompanied the movie. The Emoji Movie- I think this one kind of stood out the most to me... maybe not my favorite of the movies they showed... but it looked like an interesting take and an interesting concept... it did look very familiar though. They could have called this "Wreck it Ralph, with Emojis." Because that is the vibe I for from it. The "Meh" emoji doesn't always want to be "meh." Similar to the way Ralph doesn't always want to be a villain. I think the cast has some great voice actors. TJ Miller as Gene the Meh emoji is great. Anna Faris plays "Jailbreak"... who's character reminds me of Wildstyle from The Lego Movie. It was nothing too different... but the Emoji take on this story is pretty interesting.
