Scribbles About News: 8/9/15

1) New Ghostbusters Visit Children's Hospital in Full Costume- This is fairly awesome news! The Ladies of the new Ghostbusters Reboot coming out next summer visited a Children's Hospital in Boston in their ghost-busting gear and everything! Thats pretty cool! The movie is currently filming in Boston and it only seems right to visit a children's hospital while filming right? Even if they don't know what exactly ghostbusters are yet, I'm sure there will be a resurgence in the toys and maybe even a cartoon network marathon of the cartoon show or something! How cool would that be!?!?! Pretty cool. Here's a picture! 2) Hitch-bot who runs on the kindness of strangers decapitated in USA- This is kind of a bummer. There is a Robot that runs on the kindness of strangers. Made it through Canada on kindness fine. Germany? Fine. The Netherlands? Of corse its fine. USA? Nope. I've heard reports that it made it through Philly and it was vandalized or it made it th...

Scribbles About Movies: Trainwreck Review

I saw Amy Schumer's Trainwreck and here are my thoughts about it. I feel like this story hasn't quite been done before. Its such a simple concept too, woman doesn't have her life together, her job is kind of crappy, her dad is mean, her sister is married and doesn't always have time and patience for her, and her love life is kind of crazy. She drinks a lot but doesn't quite have a drinking problem and then she falls in love with a guy and she doesn't really want to change for him... and ultimately I don't want to spoil the movie but she does have an arc, she's not really the same Amy at the end of the movie as she is at the start... he's probably a part of why that happens but not the reason. And that is cool.  I also like that it didn't show the woman as having her life together and the guy as not having his life together. There are so many movies where guys do completely unforgivable things and the women and then they just apologize and...

Scribbles About News- 4/26/15

I might try this a little differently this week cause I feel like a lot of the news kind of intersects... idk I just feel like maybe I won't do any "headlines" this week, I think I'm just going to kind of free-write it. So something important that has been hyped up a TON this week is the Bruce Jenner interview with Diane Sawyer. You couldn't have not heard about this interview, it was everywhere they showed millions of commercials for it and... yeah. I didn't actually watch it because A) They showed all of the important parts on the commercial and I knew I'd hear the important parts about it on the news and whatnot B) I kind of don't think they should have aired it after the car accident... if I were the family of the victims it would upset me that the person that killed my loved ones is getting positive publicity. C) I felt like a lot of what they would be talking about is the Kardashian family as a whole... and I'm over that. It seems like they...

Scribbles About News- 3rd Week of Feb

There's a lot of "woman" news this week, which is kind of cool. I wouldn't say its all feminist news... but just so you know. If you don't like women... you're probably an asshole and you won't like this post... so you can leave now. Lol. I'm going to start this off with some really awful news, just because I can't not mention it, and I already wrote everything else and I don't want to put it underneath photos of Lady Gaga's engagement ring. Harris Wittels, who wrote for and produced Parks and Rec, The Sarah Silverman Program, and Eastbound and Down died at the age of 30, from what is believed to be a drug overdose. He's also appeared on several podcasts including Who Charted and Comedy Bang Bang, and hosted his own podcast called Analyze Phish where he tried to get CBB's Scott Auckerman to listen to Phish and like it. He's also from a band called Don't Stop or We'll Die and founded one of the best twitter accounts eve...

Stuff that Happened this Week: 11/09/14

1) Amy Schumer gets Comedy Central to allow the word "Pussy" not to be bleeped on air- This is actually really funny and groundbreaking news. It totally makes sense because they say dick all the time on Comedy Central... but pussy is always shamed, and throughout history women's sexuality has been "shamed" which is totally the opposite of Amy's comedy personality, so I kind of love that. 2) New typeface designed to be easier for people with dyslexia- A lot of good things happening so far this week. This is pretty awesome. Dyslexia is a learning disorder that causes problems reading because letters appear differently. Its interesting that they've invented this and I kind of wonder why they didn't make this sooner. It seems like something that can be done obviously... but idk if it is something easy to make. I'm not sure but I think this is really useful and its a very cool thing! 3) New Star Wars Film Title Released- The New title for Disney...

Woman Crush Wednesday: Amy Schumer

My recent comedy obsession has been Amy Schumer. She is just soo soo funny, she has amazing timing and she's just all around awesome. As a girl that wants to get into comedy... I feel like its hard. I mean there are TONS of funny women and amazing comics of all sorts of backgrounds and whatnot... but still I feel like comedy is kind of a boys club, but Amy Schumer made it a girl club by proving she's one of the guys. She is just one of the smartest people ever probably for doing that. When you first see Amy Schumer she just looks like this cute little blonde girl but then she says all these gross dirty sex jokes that are sooo soo funny. Her special is called "Mostly Sex Stuff" her show is called "Inside Amy Schumer" and her tour is "The Back Door Tour"... you kind of know what to expect with her and that is awesome. And she totally owns it. It's just awesome. I say she kind of "made herself one of the guys" because I feel like peo...
