Stuff that Happened this Week: 11/09/14

1) Amy Schumer gets Comedy Central to allow the word "Pussy" not to be bleeped on air- This is actually really funny and groundbreaking news. It totally makes sense because they say dick all the time on Comedy Central... but pussy is always shamed, and throughout history women's sexuality has been "shamed" which is totally the opposite of Amy's comedy personality, so I kind of love that.

2) New typeface designed to be easier for people with dyslexia- A lot of good things happening so far this week. This is pretty awesome. Dyslexia is a learning disorder that causes problems reading because letters appear differently. Its interesting that they've invented this and I kind of wonder why they didn't make this sooner. It seems like something that can be done obviously... but idk if it is something easy to make. I'm not sure but I think this is really useful and its a very cool thing!

3) New Star Wars Film Title Released- The New title for Disney& JJ Abrams new Star Wars movie... are you ready? Are you ready???? Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens. I guess thats cool? I can't really tell. Revenge of the Sith sounds wayyy more badass... but title isn't everything really. So yeah.

4) Nikki Minaj releases controversial new video- Nikki Minaj just released a music video that is controversial because it uses Nazi propaganda imagery during the video. The date that the video was released is also significant because November 7th (I believe that is when it was released) is also the date that the Holocaust began. Nikki Minaj already issued an apology saying that she takes full responsibility for it, she did not come up with the concept for the video. I haven't watched the video... hopefully its been taken off of youtube by now, but I don't think its Nikki Minaj's fault. It was probably someone that worked with her that a) Is actually trying to send this message, which is terrible and b) sold Nikki Minaj on the "shock value" of it all. It may just be shock value that got the video made. I don't know. While I don't think its totally Nikki Minaj's fault (I mean her last song was "Anaconda" I don't think she has any deep political message to her music) I probably won't listen to the song or buy the album or anything... and I do like Nikki Minaj's music but that makes me not want to buy anything else from her.

Update: This isn't a music video its a lyric video... so Nikki probably wasn't involved. Also the director of the video isn't issuing an apology...which is terrible. Nazi Propaganda is not art, its just offensive.

5) Big Bang Theory star Carol Ann Susi dies at 62- This is sad news. The woman that voices Wolowitz's mom on The Big Bang Theory passed away this week at the age of 62. This is so sad, her voice on the show was very funny and she was only seen from a brief glance at Howard's wedding. I wonder what they'll do on The Big Bang Theory because she was such a huge part, but she was never seen so it wouldn't be hard to replace her. Still she was so so funny that I don't think they ever should replace her. I go back and forth between liking The Big Bang Theory and not liking it, but Wolowitz's mother has always been incredibly funny and Carol Ann Susi will be missed.

6) Kim Kardashian attempts to fart on the internet and fails- Kim Kardashian showed a pic of her ass on a magazine with the headline "break The Internet." I've been posting pretty much every day since then, so no... internet hasn't broken. Idk. It's just a big butt... I didn't really want to see it and if I did, I'd try to look at my own in the mirror. Lol.

7) Cake Boss Buddy Valestro arrested for DWI- This strikes me as funny... mostly because his response was "Heyyy you can't arrest me I'm the Cake Boss." And I totally imagine it as the Paul F. Tompkins version of the cake boss trying to explain this DUI to Scott Auckerman... its quite funny. He seems very... gross in real life. Idk they say he's not a huge jerk that yells at everyone like he is on TV... but he still seems like a jerk.

8) Nia Vardalos is guest starring on Marry Me as Casey Wilson's mother- I'm excited about this. I love Nia Vardalos and I love Marry Me... so this will be really really funny and great. Its going to be so fun seeing her with Casey Wilson and Ken Marino... it'll just be really great. Plus with the dads also... it'll be so great.

9) Aunt May Spinoff rumored by Sony Pictures- I'm pretty sure there is absolutely no truth to this at all... but its so funny to imagine. Like they just wanted to make a story about a woman that's raising her nephew and she's a little bit older than a mother... and then they were like "hey this won't make a lot of money... lets put spiderman's name on it and make a shitton of money!" Which is what I think could end up happening. Lol.

10) CBS Cancels The Millers- I never watched this show because I love Will Arnett and it actually pained me to even watch the commercials for this show... but now its cancelled. Its odd because CBS usually gets pretty high ratings for their comedies and they rarely cancel their multi camera family comedy over the top Chuck Lorre-ish types of shows. I bet Mulaney would have done well on CBS... lol.

So yeah those are the things that happened in this rather odd week of TV and entertainment news.

Byeee!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
