Scribbles About TV: Downward Dog Review

So I was really really excited when I heard that there was going to be a show about a dog on tv... and this did not disappoint... it really was about a dog and his relationship with his human... and I only managed to cry through like half of it. This show is actually making history- and hopefully if it does well we'll see more like it... it is the first network television show to debut at the Sundance Film Festival... which seems crazy to me! Sundance has been around for quite a while... and Network tv is so popular that you would just think at some point their paths would have crossed... but apparently they haven't until now... and it is a wonderful thing that they have. Because this show did debut at a film festival... it does sort of have more of a film vibe than a television vibe. I feel wayyy more emotionally connected to the characters. A lot of times they will sort of use something other than a human in a tv show so that you can connect to the characters better on so...

Scribbles About Movies: A Dog's Purpose Review

I know I've been saying that I wanted to see this movie when it was on TV because I didn't quite know about the abuse claims and it looked like a show better to watch on TV than in the theaters... My friends wanted to see the movie and the Humane Society did investigate the movie and all was good. So I saw it in theaters. It was a really great movie too! It stayed on the best storyline that was the main story the longest... and it spent a good enough time on the other lives and you could see how one of the dog's lives helped with understanding the next and it shaped him to become the dog he was at the end of the movie... And you got to see a lot of, unfortunately, horrible things that happen both to dogs and to people from an incredibly innocent point of view. I don't want to spoil things but the dogs don't really get to choose their life... and it isn't always fun and there are a lot of bad parts. Dogs don't really have much control over what happens un...

Throwback Thursday: Lilo and Stitch

I've been wanting to do reviews of older movies from when I was a kid or a teenager and wondering if they're any good now... and I'm happy to say this one is actually wayyy better than when I originally saw it when it came out! Lilo and Stitch are 2 of my favorite disney characters probably. Stitch is one of the cutest, and he kind of reminds me of the minions. And Lilo is really cute and when I met her in Disney I had braided pigtails and Lilo grabbed them and it was really funny. I thought that was fun. And I know a lot of people in the Disney community hate the Stitch ride... honestly it scared me a little because I was still a bit traumatized from when it was Alien Encounter... but I liked the gift shop! And I like that Lilo and Stitch are at Disney now, I've only been to Disney once since the movie came out. They could maybe do something a little better... but it makes sense to replace Alien Encounter with Stitch. The major reason why I loved this movie so much...

Blogmas Day 17: Scribbles About Movies- Santa Buddies

So I kind of ran out of holiday specials to watch on Netflix... and I do love dogs... so I thought that this would be a fun one to watch... and it really wasn't bad... but this is kind of the bottom of the barrel as far as Netflix Holiday Specials go... and that is kind of sad. So it starts out kinda scary. There's an icicle that melts when there is no Christmas Spirit... and Santa's actual power for the workshop depends on that Icicle... it's basically a Direct to DVD version of Elf with dogs... so that's kind of what I was expecting... but its still pretty much a rip off... but it was kind of a scary scene to see Santa and Santa Paws in there saying there's no hope for Christmas except for Puppy Paws. Then we meet Puppy Paws... and we realize there really isn't much hope for Christmas at all... Puppy Paws just messes everything up to have fun and it's kind of funny... but he kind of ruins Christmas because of it. And then his dad, Santa Paws yells ...

Jane the Virgin, Halloween Monsters, Dunkin Donuts, and Spencer's Vet Visit

This isn't exactly right as I'm waking up... I ended up staying up till like 3 watching Jane The Virgin last night. And I watched the third episode before the second episode... so that was crazy! I meant to watch more Halloween Movies for Blogoween... and I just didn't get around to it. But I will have a review coming up soon I think and I want to try to watch a few more. I did watch Krampus, however and that is somehow where my dream came from. So it was halloween and the Monster from the movie Trick or Treat was apparently eating people. Which is funny because I've never seen Trick or Treat and I have no idea if that's what happens in it... but it was specifically that Monster! And now I'm just trying to write while drinking Dunkin Donuts coffee... which is actually good. I'm a Starbucks person, but for regular plain coffee, Dunkin or Rook is probably better. And I forgot to talk about the vet yesterday. Spencer is good, he had a couple of shots an...

Hot Bench, Dogs and babies, and Bath and Body Works.

Sooo I almost forgot to do this morning post... but then I was like "Oh yeah!" I have a feeling that's going to happen. I'm probably going to forget the morning post more often... but I'll try. Anyway, is there ever anything you do at night that helps you to wake up better in the morning? My friend just got me an eye cream and I've been using that and moisturizing before I go to sleep... and it does make me feel better in the morning when I wake up. My skin feels new and fresh... and its just good. A good start to the day... so I recommend it for that at least! And I'm watching the show Hot Bench. I kind of hate these court shows... but its hard to stop watching this... people are so stupid its scary. I kind of think its all fake... but its still really fun to watch! Taking my dog to the vet today. Just for a checkup, plus we want to ask the vet if we should get a baby doll to treat like a real baby because my sister is having a baby and we aren'...

What's Up Wednesday: 10/5/16

I've been bad at blogging for this blog lately... I'll admit that. Lol. Last night I went to sleep earlier than I have been lately because I was sneezing and my eyes were runny, so I took an Allertec... and then it worked like right away but I was really sleepy... so at least I slept really well. But yeah I was still like half asleep when I woke up... I'm still half asleep now pretty much. I usually cuddle with my dog in the living room for a bit and then I go back to my room... but I was too tired to even go back to my room... so I just stayed in the living room. I ended up finishing a Halloween blog from yesterday for my other blog and then I went out to lunch with my mom and had Pumpkin Pancakes... which were really really good. And we got a slice of Pumpkin cheesecake to go... so I will be having that soon.... which is good, hopefully. I've also been drinking the Apple Cider from Starbucks. Its off the menu, but they have apple cider and they put the cinnamo...

I don't really know what to post about... so here's some random thoughts

I'm really feeling like I'm running out of things to write about... lol. I've been liking salad a lot recently... which is good. I didn't have any Starbucks today... yet. My dog just made a noise.. . He got a foot scrub I got it back. I like The Goldbergs a lot. I kinda have a headache... maybe because I hit my laptop on my head before... ouch. I think that is everything... Tomorrow... maybe a Kimmy Schmidt review? If I finish the season. If not... idk. Might do another snippet. Idk what to write for my other blog either. Ugh. Byeee! -Shannon

Story Time: Spencer and The Bird

So here's a cute and sad story that really did happen today. We have this big open window at my house, and my dog Spencer likes to look out the window and bark at anything he sees. But today it was a little different. Spencer was looking up at the sky and he was crying. And it was such a sad sound and we didn't know what it was. But then I said "Is there a birdy? Are you crying at the birdy?" And there was a bird on  the wire all alone... and that was sad! My mom noticed that she thought it was a Morning Dove or a Love Dove and usually those are in pairs, but it was all alone on the wire. And it was a rainy, gloomy day so it was kind of a sad day anyway... especially for a bird all alone on the wire. And Spencer kept looking up for him and barking and howling at him and scratching on the window to get out. It was really sad and really sweet that he was looking after this bird. I thought of the bird as his "Woodstock." Like Snoopy's friend Woodstock...

Scribbles About Life: My Dog and his Snowman

So I was going to post something different today... but this story is just too cute... so I need to share it. My dog, Spencer was looking at the dining room table trying to get something the other day, and it was these snowball things we had. We weren't sure at first but we gave him one of these and he was happy. He was REALLY happy with it though. He wouldn't take it out of his mouth, except every once and a while he would put it down and just stare at its face. It was like he was in love with it or something, it was so cute! He's a maltese, and I think he thought the snowman looked like him and maybe he thought it was like his doggy mommy or his sisters, but he just loved it! It was the cutest thing. And these aren't really dog toys, they're very easy for him to get open and tear the stuffing out... so we'll only let him have it if we're home and if we notice he's tearing it open we'll take it away from him. And when I did take it away last...

Blogmas Day 12:Holiday Memories

So I have some holiday stories... some memorable some not quite as memorable. The Time Lucky Ate Cheesecake So this was actually Thanksgiving, but I thought it was cute enough to tell here anyway. My first dog was named Lucky and we got him in November, he was a maltese, my dog now is a maltese... I recommend getting a Maltese. I love them. Anyway, he was just a baby and we bought some plain cheesecake and we had it on a chair that was lower, within his reach, and I look over one day and he's got his head in the cheesecake box and he's licking the cheesecake! That little devil! Lol. This is when we began keeping everything out of doggy's reach... a practice we still need to do today. The Time My Sister and I went to New York for Christmas  My sister and I wanted to see Elf the musical the first year it came out and we got tickets... on Christmas Day. So we got to see the city on Christmas itself... and it was crazy! Crazy because it was absolutely EMPTY in Times Sq...

Shannopedia: Maltese Dogs

So I thought of doing this new type of blog where I just talk about something I am an "expert" in and give you some facts about them. I think some of these posts may be satirical and some will be factual. This one happens to be factual because I would say I have some actual expertise in this topic. I've had 2 Malteses. Spencer, my current dog, and Lucky who passed away a few years ago. If you are thinking of getting a dog, I personally love the breed... but they may not be for everyone so before you buy a maltese, you may want to read this. First off they are very sweet, smart, playful dogs. They are hypoallergenic because they have hair instead of fur, but they're still really soft and fluffy. They're cute. Who doesn't love a maltese! They were very popular among royalty a long time ago because they are such smart dogs. Did I mention that they were smart? I swear Lucky was smarter than any person I've ever met lol. This can be a good thing or a bad th...

10 Things That Make Me Happy :)

So I saw some people do this on youtube and I thought it was cool and different so I'm going to do my own personal list. I'm kind of odd... so my things may be very different than most peoples... 1) Dogs- I love all animals, but dogs make me happiest of all. Mainly my malteses, Lucky dog who is not longer with us sadly but I still have so many fond memories of, and of corse my baby Spencer. I also look up a lot of dog and cat videos whenever I'm feeling really sad and it will instantly make me soo sooo happy. 2) Despicable Me/Minions- This is one of the easiest ways to make me happy. Whenever I need a good laugh I will watch Despicable Me or the minion mini movies and I can't help but laugh. I have so many toy minions all over my room... it kind of looks like a kids room and I'm a 22 year old adult... but that just makes me super happy. 3) Penne Vodka- Food in general is really good but my favorite food of all foods is Penne Pasta with Vodka sauce. Never thoug...

Fond Memories: The 101 Dalmatians Happy Meal Toys at McDonalds

Sooo... I had nothing to blog about today. I'm saving my WCW for next week and I just kind of ran out of ideas so I thought I'd share the most exciting thing about my childhood: The 101 Dalmatians toys from McDonalds. As a child, I was mildly completely obsessed with the McDonalds 101 Dalmatians toys. I was really excited about the movie coming out and... there were 101 toys???? I needed them all! These toys were also really cool because the movie came out around Christmas time and a lot of them had Christmas themes or London themes. There was one covered in tinsel, one with a wreath on his bum, one on an ornament, just all really cute little Christmas things. My parents would take me to every McDonalds and buy several toys at once just so that I could get all 101. Which was really special and they are great parents because of that. And then 102 Dalmatians came out and we had to do the same thing! I still have all of these toys and I'm probably going to use them as Ch...
