10 Valentine's Day Movies To Watch

I thought this might be kind of a fun thing to do. Since it's Valentine's Day soon... I thought I'd pick 10 movies for Valentines Day viewing. This could be with your significant other... or just by yourself so that you can believe in love or something. These are fun movies! 1) Serendipity- I watch this movie almost every time I see it on tv. It's a fun movie and honestly one of my favorite NYC movies. It doesn't really show anything too interesting about the city... but Serendipity is a very popular restaurant in the city that I've been too a few times... and it's okay. The dessert is the really fun part but the rest isn't bad. Anyway this is about a woman who believes very strongly in fate and she meets a man one time in NYC as a chance encounter... and she does already have a boyfriend- but she thinks maybe they're fated to be together... so she tries to meet up with him before she goes back home... but it doesn't work out... so then years l...

Scribbles About TV: Rise

So NBC's been killing it with their shows lately... and I have to say... I think Good Girls is my favorite... but I just can't stop thinking about Rise! Here are some things I love about it! Josh Radner's Acting Abilities Finally Shine!  I'm a fan of How I Met Your Mother... and I'm one of the rare people that actually really did like Ted Mosby as a character... and Josh Radner is talented... but despite being the main character of How I Met Your Mother... he kind of faded into the backround with the very over the top comedic performances of all the other characters. Radnor kept it grounded and I think that's a hard thing to do with all of those other characters. That being said... it's hard to tell whether or not he's the best actor... that's the only thing I've seen him in and... he was okay but I always thought he was trying to be more of a director. In this show- I think he really is his character. I think his actual passion for the sho...

Throwback Thursday: Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog

This was an exciting one. I used to LOVE this movie... if you can even call it a movie... it is so good... I've seen it 100 times probably. I watched it every day for a while and it's just great. It's not for everyone probably... but it's so short that I think anyone could really enjoy it without being bored. For such a short musical... it is very well paced. There are 3 acts, there's a clear storyline and arc for all the characters... there are lots of songs. If you don't like singing... you're not going to like this because there isn't much plot other than the singing... but if you love musicals... there is a lot of character development in the songs... its something that you can sing along to (heyyy... I understand the title now.) And it's very catchy. Even years since I've seen it last... I remembered all of the words. It's also really funny. Spoilers: Not a happy ending... but there are really really funny moments all throughout the ...

Scribbles About Broadway: Something Rotten

So I think this is the first time I'll ever have a play review on here... and thats pretty cool. I kind of got into blogging when I went to see the play Avenue Q with my sister and  I wanted to talk about that day and stuff like that... so blogging about plays is pretty special to me. This play is also kind of special to me. I've wanted to see it since I saw the commercials. I thought "This looks promising." Then I saw the performance on Jimmy Fallon and I loved that Shakespeare was in it and he was really hot and just really funny and I needed to see it. I've been following the Facebook page for a while. I knew by the time it was my birthday the original cast would still likely be in it and it just looked so cool and funny that I needed to see it. So I wanted to go mostly because I love Shakespeare, I've studied Shakespeare a lot. I've read 12 of his plays I think some multiple times (I've read Othello like 4 times and that's my favorite.) I k...

Scribbles About TV: Crazy Ex Girlfriend Review

So when I saw the preview of this I was like "this is going to be stupid and it's not going to last." Then when it got close to the premiere I was like "Are you crazy Shannon???? This is totally going to be your new favorite show and you're going to be obsessed!" So... thats kind of that. I watched half of it when it started and I thought it was okay, it was definitely something I wanted to watch more of and I wanted to see where it went... it looked like it had potential. Then I watched the whole episode and I really loved it. Its a funny satire and I love that they chose to do a musical with it. I think its brilliant because it shows the way that she is very dramatic and the last time she was truly happy was when she was at drama camp and she was singing and Josh was there. Plus it makes sense, she didn't move just for Josh, she barely knows Josh... but he does happen to live there and she did like everything he said about West Covina. Combine qu...

Review Time! Frozen

I love Disney, I love Princesses, I love musicals, and I love snow men so overall, I knew this movie was going to be a big win. A lot of hype was around it, a lot of my friends really liked it,  I was expecting to love it and I've got to say it did not disappoint. Whatsoever. It starts off a little odd I get. I don't totally get everything about Elsa's powers and why she really needed to stay away from Ana as much as she could. I feel like it wasn't dramatic enough, but it got super dramatic at the end. There were several things that happened that they didn't go into great detail about, and it makes sense its a kids movie, they don't necessarily want to know all of the stuff that went on, but it's a hard thing to convey and I feel like they should have been a little more clear toward the beginning of the movie. There were also a lot of great songs... like a LOT! It seemed at some times that there was wayyyy too many musical numbers and not nearly enough ...
