The BEST Songs of All Time... Maybe

Sooo... there is no "BEST SONG OF ALL TIME." Everyone has different tastes in music... no one will ever agree on everything. But I bet a large amount of people would agree on at least one of these songs... They probably deserve to be in the top 5 of all time at least.... or you know... at least like one of these songs. These are mostly Classic Rock songs... I feel like that's maybe a genre most people can kind of get on board with. 1) Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen  Does anyone dislike this song? It's by Queen... how could anyone not like Queen? This is unlike any other song really... it's totally crazy and out there... every part of the song is a little bit different... so it doesn't really get boring or anything. It starts out slow but then it gets faster and better as it goes on. It is just an awesome song that everyone has probably heard in their life at some point or other... and the reaction is probably pretty positive. I'm alway happy to hear it o...

WERE THEY GOOD???? Listening to bands that suck now to find out if they were ever good: Train

I've been thinking this for quite a while... Train is a band I really liked as a kid. I thought they were really a great band and I would get excited to hear them on the radio. Recently... they've had some less than great songs... so I thought I would listen to some of their older songs and figure out if they were ever good. Also I'll let you know the album name, the year it came out in and whether or not it is available on Apple Music... that's how I listen to music- it just works the best for me and it's easy. Song #1: Drops of Jupiter from the album Drops of Jupiter: 2001 (available on Apple Music)  Backround- I remember hearing this as a kid... I think my friend called it "the fried chicken song" and she said it was really good. And I loved it when I first heard it... I thought it was the most beautiful song ever... I think a few of my friends had even wanted it as a wedding song. It was nice hearing it at a fair or something as a kid because you co...

Scribbles About Music: Prince Songs/ Tribute

So I don't know Prince songs all that well... but I am a fan and I thought I'd talk about some of his songs and why he has a big influence in my life. There aren't any Prince songs I know all the words to or anything... there are some songs that I didn't know he sang until today... which is what made me a fan of David Bowie, so that's cool. He's influenced a ton of musicians today though. For one: Ke$ha. She is also from Minnesota and she actually got her start by breaking into his house and dropping off her EP. Luckily, she's a talented singer, and Prince was a religious man (probably at the time) so it was probably easy for him to forgive her and give her a chance. That's important to me because really I do like Kesha's music. I'm happy that it looks like her career is back on track because I missed her music... and believe it or not I can do a SPOT ON Kesha impression. Also I LOVE Fall Out Boy. They were all I talked about pretty much fr...

Female Singers and Why I Like Them

I don't know what it is, but lately I've been really REALLY loving female singers. When I was in high school I was more into bands like Fall Out Boy, Cobra Starship, and Panic At The Disco... And really the only two female singers I liked back then were Lady Gaga and Katy Perry... Who are still my favorites... But there are so many more that I like. Ohhh and Pink. I've been a big fan of Pink for a really long time. So while I love my favorite male bands and everything... There is something so empowering to me about listening to music from all female singers. If I buy one cd from a female artist, I will feel the need to get all of their CDs after that. My favorite female singers right now are Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Lorde, Taylor Swift and I'm starting to really like Hayley Williams/Paramore. Ohh and I don't have their CDs, but Florence and the machine and Lana Del Rae are really quite good too. And I really want to get more into Beyoncé... Maybe even Rihanna. I...

Review Time- Artpop by Lady Gaga

I was super SUPER excited for this cd. I love Lady Gaga, usually she is someone I would go out and buy the physical cd the very day it comes out, but I was kind of broke when it originally came out, so I held off till Christmas and put it on my list... I finally got a chance to listen to it once... so here is my first impression. Well okay, first first impression- Applause has been my favorite single that Gaga has ever released I think... I mean maybe I like Just Dance and Pokerface and Bad Romance more, but I really think Applause is my absolute favorite. It makes me happy whenever I hear it. It's very different from her other songs, but not so different that it's like "what the hell happened to Lady Gaga." I just felt it was really great and actually quite powerful and I couldn't wait to hear all of the other songs on the cd. That being said... I don't think there was any song I liked more. Which is sad because the singles I usually love, but when I hear...

Review Time- Prism by Katy Perry

Sooo I didn't totally know if I wanted this cd or not. I have Teenage Dream and One of The Boys (thats Katy's first cd name right?) And I liked them enough, so I decided to buy Prism also. I don't know what it is, but if I have the first cd -from a female artist particularly- I will go out and buy their other cds just to see how they grew and changed and it just inspires me and empowers me. Also my mom out of the blue mentioned that she really likes Katy Perry, so I thought I'd leave it in the car for her after I downloaded it. I wasn't expecting too much out of this album, I wasn't crazy about Roar and Katy Perry seems to be someone I get tired of easily... but honestly I love this cd! It really is inspirational to me, and Katy Perry is a pretty good artist to listen to if you want to be inspired. Firework, obviously is inspirational and a lot of her other songs are as well.  Not only that but this girl, I think has such a big heart and I think it reall...
