Pop Culture Things that are Important Right Now... That I haven't seen/ followed yet.

Creativity flows in some mysterious ways. I was  stumped at what to write tonight... which is why this is going to be a short and late blog... but here's just some things I've sort of missed. The Masked Singer  Alllllright I need to watch this. Apparently it's really good and my friend keeps posting on facebook "do you guys know this singer" and I don't know if I'd be good at this show... but I'd be intrigued. Plus everyone is famous already... so that is a bonus. It's nice to see people that aren't famous yet trying to get fame... but it's nice to see people you actually recognize and love. That seems exciting to me. I don't know what channel this is on... or if it is on demand... but I might watch it on demand. The Haunting on Hill House  I KNOW! I KNOW! I need to watch this one- I'm excited to watch it because I did see the first episode and I did honestly love it.... but I need to watch it again and finish the full thing. ...

A Little Bit About Me!

Okay guys! Here's a little introduction as to who I am and some stuff about me. My Name is Shannon. I've had this blog for a while now and I kind of wanted to change the name and change some stuff about it recently! I wanted to take some time off of the blog and take time to work on more posts that I feel a little bit better about. I haven't been as active on this as I could be and it's because I wasn't really making time to care for this... and I just wasn't sure I loved what I was writing about... so I'm changing it a little... even though it's kind of very similar. I was kind of inspired by Rick and Morty coming back with 70 episodes... so I wanted to do that too... so far this will be the 25th post I have ready to go... but hopefully I can get some more out before this starts lol. Maybe I'll update you guys when I do! Maybe I won't haha. That's a lot of posts! Anyway I'm 26, interested in writing and pop culture. Right now I'm...

The Weekly Pop 11/4/17

Now it's time for the weekly pop. News  The latest Hollywood Sexual Assault allegation is against actor Kevin Spacey... who was one of my favorite actors until now sadly. Anthony Rapp accused him of sexual assault while Spacey was very drunk and 26 and Rapp was only 14. Spacey has since come out of the closet. Spacey claims not to remember the incident and says he was confused at the time and will now live his life as a gay man. Many are criticizing the timing of Spacey's coming out because... well it seems like he's using it as an excuse and there is no excuse for sexually harassing or assaulting a 14 year old. Or anyone for that matter. Humans are not sexual objects and there's no excuse for treating anyone as less than a human. It makes me mad. Netflix has stopped production of the final season of House of Cards amidst these allegations. I believe there was a spinoff in the works that they are still working on... I'm not sure if I believe that... but if Net...

The Weekly Pop! 10/21/17

Here it is... Weekly Pop! Sorry this is sort of becoming the bi-weekly pop but... idk life happens! News  The news about Harvey Weinstein is everywhere... several actresses and women are all coming forward saying that he sexually harassed or assaulted them. Gwyneth Paltrow, Angelina Jolie, Rose McGowan, and many others have been some of the people mentioned. Recently actress Lupita Nyongo mentioned that he asked her to massage him and take her clothes off or something. Several people have pulled their movies from being made by the Weinstein Company. Lin Manuel Miranda is changing studios for the film version of In The Heights, Channing Tatum has pulled out his movie from the production company. Ben Affleck apologized for this happening in Hollywood saying "Wow, this was going on for years and I had no idea!" To which Rose McGowan replied "F*** Off Ben Affleck" and said that she told him that he grabbed McGowan inappropriately and Affleck replied "I told ...

The Weekly Pop 10.8.17

Hello and Welcome to The Weekly Pop! The news and stuff for all things Pop Culture! News  Tom Petty passed away this week at the age of 66. People know him from his band Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers... he sang songs like Free Fallen, Refuge and American Girl... He was just finishing up a tour and went into cardiac arrest right before the end of his final tour... he will be missed and his songs remembered forever (I never considered myself a big fan, but I love all of these songs and appreciate that they all came from one really talented man. I never really realized that before and I think I'll try listening to some more songs.) Hugh Heffner also died this week and Sunday Morning did a great tribute to him saying that "Icons are complicated" and while some people think of him as a "Visionary" and some people think of him as "a dirty old man" he is both. If you admire him or despise him- you aren't wrong! Some of the cast of mean girls reu...

The Weekly POP!

So...I kind of keep thinking of Weekly series to do... and I don't fully have this planned out yet- but I think on Saturdays I will have any and all pop culture news... and maybe I'll include some things that aren't actually news but things about Pop Culture I found out this week? Honestly... I have no idea what I'm going to do with this blog... I just came up with the idea less than a minute before I started writing this very post... so let's see what's up! News  All of Will and Grace is available right now on Hulu... it is virtually impossible to get this on DVD- they never made a blu-ray... so this is kind of the only means to watch it- unless you're like me and you watch it on lifetime every weekend and tivo it and watch it before bed most days... I already want Hulu to begin with... I don't have it currently... but this has me pretty excited! The revival debuts on Thursday! This weekend could be one of the most successful in Box Office history...

Underrated Things/People #1

So I thought I'd just shout out a few things that are underrated in different categories... and then we'll see what happens. Lol. Movie: Dark Shadows  This is probably not the #1 most underrated movie... but that's what inspired the post. The Blu Ray was on sale at Target for $5! I love this movie and for $5 I love it even more. I thought Johnny Depp was great as a vampire. I thought Eva Green was really funny and bitchy and just awesome... and I just really liked it a lot! So yeah... for $5 sign me up. Singer: Nick Jonas  Can we all just appreciate that Nick Jonas is grown up and is now kind of hot? And not only that, but he has a hot voice. You could kinda tell when the Jonas Brothers had that song Burnin up... and then when he did the "I still get jealous song..." The guy is hot and awesome and underrated. Actress: Nia Vardalos  Nia Vardalos hasn't been in many movies and she's more of a writer... but she's my favorite! I think I've see...

Coming This Summer: Things I'm excited for Summer 2015

So there is a lot to be excited about this summer. Here are some movies, tv shows, a couple books and... mostly movies that I'm really excited about seeing/reading this summer. Books  I don't really know all that many books that are coming out this summer... there was one I read about on Entertainment Weekly with a cupcake that looked like a grenade, and there was another mystery that sounded really good... Surprisingly no Bios for summer release... but there are definitely a couple books I'm looking forward too. The newest Princess Diaries book is being released! I'm so happy about it! Its about Mia getting married to Michael Moscovitz... and I'm really pumped for it. I recently re-read all of the Princess Diaries series in preparation for this and... I'm excited. Its going to be really good! I know it! Its long awaited... and it sounds like there are more twists and things than any other book... and there are always a few twists, even for a teen fiction....

Chart Chat! April 6th 2015

So I really like doing these potsts. Its based off of the podcast Who Charted pretty much where they talk to guests and get to know them a little better based off the weekly charts in music and movies. I just post the top 5 movies and itunes chart and say how it pertains to my life... so its my take. Not the most original idea ever... but I like knowing what the top contenders are and I like talking about them... so that is that! 5) Insurgent- This has been out for 3 weeks and is still holding pretty strong at the box office. A lot of these top movies have been out for a few weeks now, except number 1... which if you haven't heard about yet... you might be living under a rock or something. Lol. Anyway this is also based on a popular book series... I own the first Divergent book, haven't read it yet... but it sounds good. Ansel Elgort is in it and I have a little crush on him even though I've never seen a movie of his and he is a tiny bit young for me...  well not really, ...

Charts! August 4th 2014

Let's see the top 5 movies and songs this week and I will let you know how I feel about them.  Movies 5) Dawn of The Planet of The Apes-(8.7 mil this week)- i don't think you could pay me to be interested in any of these movies. This is a sequel to a second reboot and none of these sound like good movies to me. I actually started watching Rise of The Planet of The Apes a few hours ago and it's boring shit. I'm never going to care about apes uprising and taking the planet unless it happens in real life... Which I doubt it will.  James Franco is not though, which is the only reason I started watching it in the first place. Lol.  4) Hercules (11 million this week)- Another film I have little interest in if it isn't animated. Too action-y. It's not right that one of the top paid actors is The Rock. Just not right.  3) Get on Up (opening weekend 13.6 million)- this isn't doing to bad for a non- action movie in the summer time. I think this movie actually looks li...

Stuff that Happened this Week (2/16-2/23)

1) Charlie Sheen engaged to porn star Brett Rossi-  This is Charlie Sheen's 4th marriage... but I guess 4th times the charm right? Nope probably not. Hasn't he been married to 2 other porn stars before? He's been married to at least one other porn star. I guess it's not that shocking that Charlie Sheen's getting married to a porn star. It's not like he'd be getting married to like Katie Couric or anything right? That'd be weird... 2) Baby Krasinski Welcomed into the World- This is happy news! Emily Blunt gave birth to a baby girl named Hazel. And of corse Emily Blunt is married to John Krasinski otherwise known as Jim Halpert from The Office so yayyy! Congratulations to them both and Hazel has some pretty awesome parents! 3) Pete Wentz and Megan Camper expecting a baby- Awww yayyy! I feel like this week is very "marriage and babies" themed. I love Fall Out Boy, Megan Camper is adorable and I think they're great together. Pete Wentz has ...
