The Weekly Pop! 10/21/17

Here it is... Weekly Pop! Sorry this is sort of becoming the bi-weekly pop but... idk life happens!

News

The news about Harvey Weinstein is everywhere... several actresses and women are all coming forward saying that he sexually harassed or assaulted them. Gwyneth Paltrow, Angelina Jolie, Rose McGowan, and many others have been some of the people mentioned. Recently actress Lupita Nyongo mentioned that he asked her to massage him and take her clothes off or something.

Several people have pulled their movies from being made by the Weinstein Company. Lin Manuel Miranda is changing studios for the film version of In The Heights, Channing Tatum has pulled out his movie from the production company.

Ben Affleck apologized for this happening in Hollywood saying "Wow, this was going on for years and I had no idea!" To which Rose McGowan replied "F*** Off Ben Affleck" and said that she told him that he grabbed McGowan inappropriately and Affleck replied "I told him to stop doing that." So... yeah. All these Hollywood people are not shocked that this was going on... I'm sure everyone knew about it... it's not an easy secret to hide.

McGowan has since called basically everyone to resign- she got temporarily banned from twitter... I thought it was really wrong when she was banned at first- but I think I heard it was because she shared a phone number- which does violate guidelines... but was that the real reason why... I'm not so sure.

In other news, McGowan's Charmed Co- Star Alyssa Milano brought the hashtag "Me Too" to highlight the problem that we have where sexual harassment and assault is commonplace with women, and it is something we need to fix.

That's been kind of taking Hollywood by storm... but in happier hollywood news... There is no happier news...so yeah.

Trailer Reviews
I used to do full trailer reviews here... and I haven't actually watched the trailer for the new Star Wars Movie The Last Jedi... so I think I'll do that here...

Star Wars: The Last Jedi
WHATTT????? IS REY THE BAD GUY???? Omg I have no idea what I just watched... I'm pretty amazed though. It sounded like Snoke was narrating- but the wordes sounded like something I would imagine Luke saying and then Kylo Ren and Rey hold hands and maybe work together... and it looks like a darker movie in general... and then you have the Porg. I think the Porgs are pretty darn cute... but I'm not sure if I can call myself Pro-Porg or not... it seems like it won't look good in 10 years... I don't know if I think it'll be at Jar Jar territory but idk about it.

Although... maybe it's like Groot... I like Groot... I could deal with a Porg.

That trailer looked amazing though and I want to see the movie now.

The Babysitter
This looks good. It's a horror comedy from Netflix... the only thing that concerns me is that I don't think Netflix movies are the best... and it kept saying "Directed by McG" who I'm just guessing directed at least one of the Sharknado movies... okay I was wrong- he's a producer on a lot of decent shows like Supernatural. He directed a couple episodes of Lethal Weapon... seems like a good director!

I think I could watch this now if I wanted... yes I could... but I'm going to wait.

What else will I watch this week...

I kind of want to see Charmed now that I've mentioned Rose McGowan... so I'm going to probably start watching that this week... I've watched enough Stranger Things to understand what's going on... as much as you can with Stranger things... but I think I'm going to re-watch the first season and then binge the second season...

Also my friend just recommended a show called Atypical. I think it's about a boy with Autism that's trying to date a girl and it just sounds really cute and funny. It's really short... but it sounds like a good one to watch. I think I'm going to start watching that.

I also NEED TO catch up on This is Us and I've just started watching Kevin (probably) Saves The World... so I'm going to catch up on those and then we'll have a little party or something. Lol.

Ohhh and the 13 Nights of Halloween just started... and there is a Tim Burton Marathon on Monday... so I'm excited.

Byeee!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
