I used to watch this movie a lot when I was little... and I've always loved the characters and the animation... but sometimes I wonder if the movie is maybe a little bit overrated...
And I'm here to say: It is not! I actually think it might be a little underrated because I just had so much fun watching it. It was like 2 in the morning on my actual birthday when I decided to watch it... so maybe I was just in a really good mood or something... but I just really loved it. What a clever concept and just a fun idea for a movie... I just really liked it.
I love Sally in this. She's just like a regular Teenager- but she's trying to do the right thing and tell Jack she doesn't think his Christmas is going to work out... but she has a crush on Jack and she sees how happy the Christmas thing is making him and ugh... just so complicated lol.
Anyway I had watched a 107 facts on Nightmare Before Christmas Youtube video... I think before I watched this... maybe it was after and Tim Burton said he didn't think anyone in the movie was really a bad guy. Even Oogie Boogie just didn't really know any better. I like that they didn't really go into any backstory or detail... I think this movie would have been good with some character development... but I like that they left it a little vague.
And Lock, Shock and Barrel were maybe my favorite part of re-watching... because they are doing what Jack wanted them to do... but they're prankster's and they are doing it in the way that they want to do it.
And it's funny to see how confused everyone is about Christmas because they don't really understand anything except for Halloween... but they understand the feeling of Christmas and the joy that it brings. It's just really a nice story.
And there is a lot of debate with this movie... is it a Christmas Movie or a Halloween movie... it's been stated that it is a Halloween movie... but I'm saying it's a Christmas movie. Santa Clause is in it and it's claymation... it's obviously a Christmas Movie!
So I really liked watching this... this might be a tradition for me to watch on my birthday... or thanksgiving or Christmas... it's just a really fun movie... one of my favorites!
