I was really excited for this show. The concept just seemed really unique to me and I was hoping they would be able to capture it in a really good way that was funny and heartfelt and I wanted the 3 storylines to be different- but to still connect nicely... and this was really perfect for that. So this show goes through the life of Alex Riley at 3 crucial points in his life. The Past, which shows Alex as a kid at a new school that is very nervous to start out. He invents things and he's a huge basketball fan... but for the Bulls, and he moved to California with his new Stepdad and Step Brother- who were both lakers fans... so he's nervous and he just wants to fit in. The Present shows 40 year old Alex who just found his wife cheating on him... gets a divorce and split custody of his daughter.
