Throwback Thursday: My Big Fat Greek Wedding

So I watched My Big Fat Greek Wedding... the original movie, not the sequel... and this is one of my favorite movies ever. Its the movie I watch pretty much any time its on... but its been a while since I've really sat down and watched it... so I figured I'd do that again... I was cleaning my room also, but mostly I was watching the movie and I feel like it was a little different to me. I always think thought this was a funny movie, but now I think its really relatable. Maybe because my sister just got married so I was just in a Big Fat Greek Wedding... but I watched it and I'm like "Those sort of things happen all the time!" Not just family- related... but like when she was getting Ian the Brochure's and she fell... that's so funny! And the moments between his family and her family... its just really funny. I don't know why but for some reason those were the parts that really stuck out to me in this viewing. Angelo and Nikki were really funny too....

Scribbles About Books: Instant Mom by Nia Vardalos

If you don't know who Nia Vardalos is... You probably aren't Greek! Lol. I feel like she's kind of a household name in Greek circles... and really among my friends too. I feel like most of my friends and family know a lot about her and like her a lot just because I talk about her so often because she is one of my heroes, and I feel like we know each other now. She's very nice on twitter and on Facebook. If you go to her facebook, you can even find out how to get a personalized copy of Instant Mom, which is awesome. She told me that writers rock and thats really cool and special and sweet of her to do. All the Proceeds go to Adoption charities also. So this isn't just a parenting book or a book preaching adoption or anything like that. It has a lot of fun stories that she tells about her being famous too. She includes the story of how she met Rita Wilson and got My Big Fat Greek Wedding written. She talks about how she met John Corbett and the Queen also and just f...

Scribbles about Movies: Movies that I will always watch on TV

First off: Sorry I haven't been here the past couple days. I've had ideas to post and stuff but I just haven't really felt like sitting down and actually writing these things. Don't worry, I have plans and I'll get a lot of good posts out soon. Right now I'm just going to do a little random favorite movies type of thing. I've seen a lot of movies a bunch of times, but there are some that I will put on pretty much anytime they are on tv and I don't get tired of them. Most of these are typical girly movies or cartoons... but those I tend not to get tired of very easily. 1) My Big Fat Greek Wedding- I've most likely seen this movie more than any other movie ever. And it still makes me laugh so hard! Maybe its because I'm greek... but a lot of my non-greek friends love this movie too, so it is totally funny and awesome for a lot of people. Nia Vardalos is also my hero and we're basically bffs now. Lol she's one of the best people to follo...

Stuff that Happened this Week: 11/09/14

1) Amy Schumer gets Comedy Central to allow the word "Pussy" not to be bleeped on air- This is actually really funny and groundbreaking news. It totally makes sense because they say dick all the time on Comedy Central... but pussy is always shamed, and throughout history women's sexuality has been "shamed" which is totally the opposite of Amy's comedy personality, so I kind of love that. 2) New typeface designed to be easier for people with dyslexia- A lot of good things happening so far this week. This is pretty awesome. Dyslexia is a learning disorder that causes problems reading because letters appear differently. Its interesting that they've invented this and I kind of wonder why they didn't make this sooner. It seems like something that can be done obviously... but idk if it is something easy to make. I'm not sure but I think this is really useful and its a very cool thing! 3) New Star Wars Film Title Released- The New title for Disney...
