Scribbles About TV: Me, Myself and I Review

I was really excited for this show. The concept just seemed really unique to me and I was hoping they would be able to capture it in a really good way that was funny and heartfelt and I wanted the 3 storylines to be different- but to still connect nicely... and this was really perfect for that. So this show goes through the life of Alex Riley at 3 crucial points in his life. The Past, which shows Alex as a kid at a new school that is very nervous to start out. He invents things and he's a huge basketball fan... but for the Bulls, and he moved to California with his new Stepdad and Step Brother- who were both lakers fans... so he's nervous and he just wants to fit in. The Present shows 40 year old Alex who just found his wife cheating on him... gets a divorce and split custody of his daughter. He lives in someone's garage and his ex is planning on getting married and moving far away with their daughter. Alex wants to prove to his ex that he can do something to keep his d...

Scribbles About TV: 2017 Fall Preview Wrap Up- What I'm excited about... What I think Stinks!

So there are only a few TV shows I have really strong opinions about coming soon... but let's just get into it. There are 2 comedy shows on CBS I'm pretty excited about. The first is Me, Myself and I. I think they have a good cast for that, I like Bobby Moynahan and John Laraquette a lot... I like the idea of showing a little bit of this guys life at a time. I'm hoping it will end up being like Life in Pieces... which is my favorite show on CBS... and I think just my favorite show in general. It's a unique concept, the trailers do a great job of explaining what the show is about... it just looks like it'll be an interesting one! The other one I'm really excited about: Young Sheldon. I'm not the biggest fan of The Big Bang Theory anymore... but I love that after all these years, there is still more story to tell and this looks like a good one. It's the story of Sheldon when he was a kid... the actor playing Young Sheldon looks like he has the voice an...

Scribbles About TV: Tv News: What got cancelled?

I feel like A LOT of shows were cancelled this year... and I actually did a lot of reviews on them... at the beginning of the TV season I was all set to watch EVERY PREMIERE and review each show... whether I had seen it or not... but that was extremely difficult. I did end up watching at least one episode of a lot of shows though... so that was good too I guess. I have some insight into these shows!  I'll also talk about what got renewed next week maybe because... why not? ABC  Abc had the most casualties so let's start there  American Crime - This won ABC multiple Emmy's and got rave reviews since season 1... but the ratings weren't as amazing. I didn't really like how season 1 ended at all... there was no real closure... all of the characters were kind of bad people... and it was just really hard to watch so while I did watch the whole first season... it wasn't that enjoyable. I heard season 2 was better (from my sister) and Season 3 got a lot of cri...

Scribbles About TV: American Gothic Review

I was really excited for this show! I thought it was going to be the best show this summer, it'd be really good a nice mystery... and I wasn't that disappointed... but its not all I thought it would be and I'll get to that more or less... I thought the story was really good, and I thought the pilot was very strong. We're still in the dark about a lot of the things in the show and we found out what happened in a mysterious-but-believable way... so that was good. And you can tell the show is going places. The characters are interesting and theres a lot they could do with the show. Hopefully they kinda "go there" and make it a little more suspenseful and not as predictable because that's kind of how it goes sometimes. It reminds me a little bit of the show Harper's Island, which was also on CBS and that had a lot of twists! I never actually watched the finale of that show, but the rest of it was pretty good! And the ending was a little disappointing b...

Scribbles About TV: Supergirl Review

So one of the shows I was most excited about this fall was Supergirl... and after seeing most of the other shows that debuted and loving them... I have to say this had a lot of competition. But I was still excited and I loved it and I think it's going to get even better. There was nothing wrong with this show. It was really cute, it was exciting, you could watch this with the whole family and there wouldn't be anything super inappropriate. They didn't make her costume too sexy and they really didn't sexualize Kara at all, which I think is super important and powerful. If I were to compare her to any other character from TV, I would say someone from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D or Dana Scully or someone. She's a very strong female character and she's not the only one on the show. There are plenty of really awesome ladies on the show. The characters were all really good too. Her sister was interesting, her friends from work, the photographer character I thought was r...

Scribbles About TV: Life in Pieces, Grandfathered, The Grinder

So I wasn't going to watch these shows or review them... simply because I didn't really have an interest in them. I know I'm not going to like Life In Pieces at all... but I saw the end of an episode of The Grinder... and I didn't hate it... so we're going to try to watch these and I'll tell you about them. Alright. Life In Pieces  This is the one I was going to start out with because I'm a little biased since I knew I wasn't going to like the format of the show... but I wanted to watch it with an open mind anyway... and it wasn't the worst thing on tv ever. It had some funny moments. It was kind of cheap laughs though... but things that genuinely happen in real life. I found the story with the first date the funniest and that was the beginning of the episode... but it was so short there was no real arch or character development or anything. I don't think its funny when people joke about women's bodies after birth... that's super cheap...

Scribbles About TV: CBS Fall Schedule 2015

So this is one of the networks who's new shows I am most excited about. Theres at least one that I want to see... I thought Supergirl was supposed to be on too? Okay thats October 30th. Alrighty. I'm going to go with the October 30th version. Basically in the September fall Schedule The Big Bang Theory and Life in Pieces are on Mondays and Thursday Night Football is on on Thursdays. And some of the other comedies aren't on like 2 Broke Girls, Mom, Mike and Molly and things like that... so lets get to the October 30th version cause that is more interesting. Monday-  8pm Supergirl- This idea is exciting and I definitely want to watch it. It can really be done so wrong though that I'm not going to expect much. I wish it were on the CW with their DC Universe Shows... but sadly I don't think this will be a part of that... Maybe idk. Seems like DC is in the TV Game stepping it up after Marvel. This starts October 26th, so I will definitely be reviewing that on the 27t...

Scribbles about Tv: Bad Teacher

So this is kind of a random tv review because it is a show that has been cancelled already, and I didn't watch it to begin with because I had a feeling it would get cancelled... But they have been airing the remaining episodes and I've been watching and enjoying it. It's a good idea, and even if you see the movie Bad Teacher these characters are all very television-friendly... But the movie didn't get the best ideas to begin with and while I think it was successful, I don't think it was a huge hit and it didn't get great reviews. Plus it has an ensemble cast filled with famous people like Ari Graynor, Kristin Davis and David Allen Grier... And while that can be a good thing because they're all good actors, it's also more expensive to produce, so those shows tend to get cancelled a lot... But anyway back to the review. It isn't the best show in the world, but it is really entertaining and it's the type of show that I like that doesn't always...
