Scribbles about Tv: Bad Teacher

So this is kind of a random tv review because it is a show that has been cancelled already, and I didn't watch it to begin with because I had a feeling it would get cancelled... But they have been airing the remaining episodes and I've been watching and enjoying it. It's a good idea, and even if you see the movie Bad Teacher these characters are all very television-friendly... But the movie didn't get the best ideas to begin with and while I think it was successful, I don't think it was a huge hit and it didn't get great reviews. Plus it has an ensemble cast filled with famous people like Ari Graynor, Kristin Davis and David Allen Grier... And while that can be a good thing because they're all good actors, it's also more expensive to produce, so those shows tend to get cancelled a lot... But anyway back to the review.

It isn't the best show in the world, but it is really entertaining and it's the type of show that I like that doesn't always do that well. I really like shows about teachers, but there aren't really any on today and  a lot of them tend to get cancelled too. Remember Teachers that was on NBC a longggg time ago? I really liked that show but it didn't last very long at all. Anyway there are lots of moments in this show that make me laugh, some out loud mostly to myself. Usually if a show doesn't make me laugh within the first 5 minutes I won't watch it, and this did actually make me laugh. Ari Graynor is really funny, although I do think she seems way nicer and less of a bad person than Cameron Diaz was in the role. It also has a lot of funny and interesting characters like The bad teacher, the goody good teacher, the principle, the student teacher and the gym teacher are all super funny. I liked the chemistry between Meredith, the bad teacher and the hot gym teacher who is played by the guy on Burning Love that played Blaze. I know that isn't super helpful... But it's a thing lol.

Overall I think this is a show worth watching. I usually don't like getting attached to shows that I think are going to get cancelled or that have been cancelled already, but this is good enough to actually check out. It's entertaining and worth a watch. I think they have it on Saturday a Nights right now, so nothing else is even on and this is just a fun little thingy to watch for a little bit. Not the greatest show ever, but it's not bad. The pilot was a little weird.

There are lots of flaws I notice within tv shows because I know a little bit about screenwriting and I can pretty much tell you if the show will be cancelled or not from that alone. This was not a huge offender of any of those rules the way that Trophy a wife and The Carrie Diaries were, so I was slightly surprised it wasn't picked up. I definitely recommend checking it out if you're not doing anything on Saturdays it whatever. I'm sure you'll find it funny.

Byeeeee!

Disney Store Closing Haul

So if you read my post from yesterday- you know that I love The Disney Store, but it is unfortunately closing. I did pick up some things from the store that I thought I'd share with you guys! I did get a couple of t shirts. One is a Star Wars shirt, which is technically a men's shirt but I thought it looked really cool and I don't like that Disney doesn't carry the same things for men and for women. For the most part they look unisex to me and a lot of their men's stuff has characters I like better. Like the star wars shirt for women was grey with pink lettering and had no pictures, but the mens shirt had a really cool metallic silver logo on black clothing with pictures of all the new characters and Luke inside of the letters... much cooler! So I got that! The other shirt I got is really funny and it has Sleeping Beauty on it and it says "I Woke Up Like This." Which I really liked! Super cute and funny and my niece likes it when I wear shirts with c...

Scribbles About Life: 3.10.16

Soooo... I don't really want to post about my day... but I don't really want to post anything else either. I started writing something about female characters in movies and TV... but I just didn't like what I was writing and... idk... I was a blog writing machine this week and now I feel defeated. I wrote a ton on Monday and Tuesday and now I just don't feel like doing a post today... but I want to write still... So I'll talk about things that I guess are on my mind lately... Idk. So I got this Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor... and for some reason... I'm addicted to the way that it smells. Idk why, it smells like cherry medicine... but I also sort of like it. Its more cherry than medicine... and I can't smell it on my lips... but Idk. I keep smelling it in the tube. I got some cute stuff from American Eagle yesterday too! I got a dress and a romper... I do not own any Rompers... except this one... but it looked good on me and it didn't make me look f...

Throwback Thursday: 13 Going On 30

So I watched this on VH1 around Christmas Time because it was on... they really need to bring this movie to Netflix because it's pretty fantastic and VH1 doesn't get the whole thing. I didn't catch the very beginning... but I did watch most of it from around the time when Matty gives her the Dream House... so sweet. It was a little weird to watch this movie because when it came out, I was 13 or almost 13... and now I'm closer to being 30... but I still felt more connected to the 13 year old Jenna instead of the adults in the movie. Like I'm not totally sure when I turned almost 30... but I don't like it. I'm still 13 year old Jenna who likes the same music as when I was 13 and has kind of the same style as I did then... I don't know... its just kind of a weird thing and I was freaking out a little bit from it. This is also the movie that introduced me to one of my favorite actresses, Judy Greer! I love Judy Greer, she's so funny and great and s...
