Tv Reviews: The Hotwives of Orlando, Married and You're The Worst

So three interesting looking shows came on this week, and I thought I'd review them. Disclaimer: I only like 2 of them.

The Hotwives of Orlando
I had been waiting for this to come out since like May so I was super excited that this was finally streaming on Hulu...although that being said, I feel like the wait made me not enjoy it quite as much. If it were on like right after I found out about it I probably would have really liked it, but because I had to wait it wasn't quite as funny as I thought. It's still really funny and ridiculous and absurd and I absolutely love it... So I guess it didn't affect me that much lol. It's a really clever show and it isn't like anything on tv right now. Well it is exactly like all of the Real Housewives shows because it's parodying it, but it's not like you'll see this exact parody on any other show. I actually do have to compare it to another amazing web series called Burning Love that parodied the bachelor and the bachelorette but it's a little more ridiculous than that I think. I kind of like Burning Love better, but that might just be because there were 3 seasons of that and I felt pretty connected to those characters. So I'll probably start feeling more connected to these characters as I watch more of it. The funny thing is that those real housewives shows are so ridiculous that I think this is actually less ridiculous than those.

Some of the stars include Casey Wilson, Angela Martin from the office, Kristen Schall, Matt Besser, Kulap Vilaysack was on an episode. Paul Scheer is a producer and everything he does is genius... So this is good. Definitely recommend!

Married
This one is probably my favorite of the bunch. It stars Nat Faxon who you may recognize from Ben and Kate and Trophy wife and Judy Greer, who you probably recognize from something. She's pretty much The Best Friend in every movie, she was Kitty on Arrested Development and her book is even called I don't know what you know me from she's done a lot. And she's amazingly talented.

Anyway so it follows the two of them who are a married couple with kids... But they aren't like real grown ups really. They sort of have some problems with their marriage. Judy Greer's character told her husband he could sleep with someone else. He's kind of a good guy so he doesn't really want to sleep with anyone else, but after checking with his friends they're like you gotta do this and what happens is just so funny. I have to admit I was slightly bored and was kind of focusing on other things, but I was still fully listening to this show at least and laughing at it. It's really a funny show. I definitely recommend.

You're the worst
This was actually what I was least excited about, so I wasn't really surprised that I didn't like this that much. I recognized the girl that plays Gretchen from the short-lived show Traffic Light, which I actually really liked and I thought she was really pretty and that this might be funny... But it was just not that good. I didn't find the characters all that likable. I thought that she was a little annoying and he just wasn't all that funny. There was also a lot of sex in the episode... And it was actually almost hbo level graphic. I don't think you saw anyone's bits and pieces or anything, but I wasn't really expecting to see all of that in a comedy. I don't mean to be a prude, I can deal with shows or movies about people having one night stands, but this was just supposed to be showing their chemistry as a couple just through the sex... And I didn't see more of a connection other than that. I thought it was supposed to mostly focus on the girl not being in a relationship and see some of her odd stories... But it's more about them as a couple.

I also thought that both the main characters were super immature. Like I get commitment issues and everything... But I'm 22 and I think I know more mature 22 year olds than either of these characters! It's just not super realistic and I just didn't find it that funny. I also totally wasn't paying attention to this there weren't even that many jokes I found funny. I thought the sleep apnea thing was kind of funny, but nothing was super great about this show.

So that is it! Let me know what you think. I might give You're the worst another chance... But I still don't think it'll be anything I'll love.

Byeeeee!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...
