Tag Tuesday:25 Bookish Questions

1) Do You Get Sick While Reading in A Car? No, I like reading on trains a lot.  2) Which Author's Style is Unique To You And Why?  JK Rowling. I know everyone would probably say the same thing... but everything she writes is a little different... but you can tell its the same voice. Its just very interesting to me.  3) Harry Potter Series or Twilight Saga: Give 3 Points to Defend Your Answer!  This shouldn't even be a question... Harry Potter hands down 1) JK Rowling didn't just create a book and characters with the Harry Potter series, she created an entire world and mythology to go along with it. 2) The characters in Harry Potter are very strong and fight for the people they love... and even for their enemies and rivals. Snape died for Harry Potter, who he resented quite deeply... in Twilight no one would die for Jacob... nor should they. 3) I don't think that books would even be that popular if it weren't for Harry Potter. If Harry ...

5 Movies/TV Shows I think Deserve Reboots

So it seems like movies are getting re-booted every few minutes. Whether it be like 500 versions of Spiderman or some classic TV movie reboots that are in the works or a sequel to an old classic... some of these don't quite deserve to be rebooted... but there are a few I think really deserve another reboot or a sequel or something extra. The movies might have been good, but I don't think they all did them just right... so for that... here's some reboot ideas. 1) Get Smart- I didn't dislike the Steve Carell/ Anne Hathaway movie that came out a few years ago... but I feel like when you're re-booting a movie that already has a really funny and exciting source material it can be a little bit tricky. There were talks of a sequel... but I think they could do it a little better. I can imagine Jonah Hill writing it and Maybe Joel McHale or Ty Burrel for Maxwell and for Agent 99 I could see Abbi Jacobsen, Emma Stone, Amy Adams, Isla Fisher or Jenna Fisher. Maybe even Zooey...

Scribbles About Books: Royal Wedding by Meg Cabot (Slight spoilers)

I've been waiting for forever for this book and I just finally picked it up at Barnes and Noble and finished it in a few days. It was well worth the wait and a great way of doing an adult version of my favorite book from when I was a teen and preteen. I was really really happy with this book and everything about it basically I loved it. So if you didn't read the series: Spoilers! Mia ends up with Michael. Duh. Of corse she does and in this book they're getting married. The book opens with a gossip newspaper headline about Mia's Father, Prince Phillipee's arrest and it goes over what's been going on with the family for the past few years. We learn Mia's stepdad Mr. Gianini has passed away... which I wasn't fond of at first... but I like the sort of theme and sense of urgency it created throughout the novel. It factors into Michaels proposal and it motivates a lot of the actions created by the characters in the novel. What I love about the original s...

Weekly Favorites: August 23, 2015. + More random stuff and Funko Pop Haul

So its weekly Favorites time! I feel like I knew my favorites pretty early this week, so I'm just going to hop right into it. Bojack Horesman- I love this show. Its one of my favorites and because I was watching The X Files so much, I hadn't seen the second season right away... but right now I'm caught up on The X Files Files and I sort of want to slow down on watching them... just a little bit, so that gave me some time to catch up on Season 2 of Bojack Horseman... and it is just as funny and sad as Season 1... if not more so! This show is really one of the most unique shows ever. It has horse and animals as people and its really really funny, but its also very melancholy. Its kind of like real life. You can have all the fame and fortune you want and still be unhappy, and Bojack is and its sad. These characters all have real problems and its sad to watch... but at the same time its too funny to really be a dark comedy. Its just a really fantastic, well written unique c...

Throwback Thursday: Forever Princess Review

One of my favorite Throwback Books are the Princess Diaries Series... These were totally my favorites growing up. I think I relate a little too much to Princess Mia, lol. Reading these are a lot like reading my own diary I feel like. Its a really fun read, it is such a funny series and I'm actually surprised at how much I still love these books. This was a really great conclusion to the series. I was happy with how it ended. I knew (spoilers) that she ended up with Michael in the end, and I knew (well I was pretty certain) that she would lose her virginity to him, but there were still surprises and I was still very invested in how the book ended up that way. I think they did it in a way that complimented the characters in the book itself and wrapped everything up perfectly really.  My one critique I guess, if you'll call it that... is that before this book I liked JP and I think he did a total 360 and changed into a very unlikable character. I didn't necessarily lik...

Top 5 Friday: Favorite Fictional Characters

This probably isn't the full entire list... But there is a good number of characters here that are definitely favorites of mine. I think right now I'm just going to post about 5 since it is Top 5 Friday... But I watch a lot of tv,and I've seen a lot of movies and read a lot of books... So there will always be more. Lol.  First I want to mention my favorite television character of all time: Gob Bluth. I love Arrested Development obviously and all of the Bluths could be mentioned in this... But Gob is totally what got me to love this show. He's just so strange and funny that he really isn't like any other character on television. He's wacky like Kramer, but not quite as smart. He's kind of dumb and a womanizer like Joey Tribianni, but he's not as dumb and he's got a lot more sadness in him. He's just funny all around and Will Arnett played him to a perfection!  Next I have to mention my other favorite tv character: Ron Swanson. All of the Pawnee r...

Throwback Thursday: Princess Diaries Book

So I thought that I would start something a little new on here and I would do a throwback to anything that I used to like or love and just talk about it again. Books, movies, songs, bands, clothes maybe. All sorts of things that give me a throwback. I'll give a little mini review/update about it. So I picked up The Princess Diaries again recently because I heard that there was going to be a new book for Adults. Since I grew up with the series... I needed to reread it again and I've started the first book. It's perfect since I need a little break from serious books after Gone Girl. I read this book when I was 11 so it's been over 10 years since I've read this guy...and it is a book for teens that I read a little young, so there were parts I thought that I didn't fully understand back then. I don't think I knew what testicular cancer was really, but I understood it after reading this and I knew that Mia's dad couldn't have any more kids. There'...
