Throwback Thursday: Forever Princess Review

One of my favorite Throwback Books are the Princess Diaries Series... These were totally my favorites growing up. I think I relate a little too much to Princess Mia, lol. Reading these are a lot like reading my own diary I feel like. Its a really fun read, it is such a funny series and I'm actually surprised at how much I still love these books.

This was a really great conclusion to the series. I was happy with how it ended. I knew (spoilers) that she ended up with Michael in the end, and I knew (well I was pretty certain) that she would lose her virginity to him, but there were still surprises and I was still very invested in how the book ended up that way. I think they did it in a way that complimented the characters in the book itself and wrapped everything up perfectly really.

My one critique I guess, if you'll call it that... is that before this book I liked JP and I think he did a total 360 and changed into a very unlikable character. I didn't necessarily like him for Mia, but if he had gotten back together with Lilly or something I would have been okay with that. Mia always said how nice he was and they were so similar, and you could tell that Mia had a crush on him even when she was madly in love with Michael. She kept saying "wow JP is so sweet" and "JP is seriously the best" and things like that... it really did make me like him. It didn't "make me" like him but I liked him. He seemed like a good guy and everything. And he just changed completely with calling the paparazzi on Mia, making it look like he proposed to her for publicity, sleeping with Lilly and then dumping her for Mia... I just didn't like that. When we first met him, he would have never done that... and its true. When we first met him he was just this lonely guy that hated it when they put corn in the chili and he really could have progressed into this selfish monster thats boring to be with that fast... but it just seemed a little bit of a dramatic gimmick to make him SOOOO bad. That's not really a bad thing, the book was wayyy more interesting that way... but I'm not personally big on love triangles and thats just how I feel about how that went down.

Also when he was first introduced, he was a grade older than Mia and they kind of just changed it to be that they were in the same grade... which I can overlook, but its still a detail that kind of bothers me a smidge.

I really liked Tina in this book. Tina is one of my favorite characters and I love that she sort of becomes Mia's best friend, even though it is hard to see Mia's best friend as someone other than Lilly. I just think Tina is really sweet and she sees the best in everybody. Even when Mia makes fun of Boris, Tina still loves him and thinks he's really sexy and thats her man and she's just really sweet in these last few books.

And I'm happy Mia chooses a college and a publisher based on who chooses her based off her own merit and not just because she's a princess. She goes to Sarah Lawrence because they don't count SAT Scores and the publisher didn't know who she was when she read the book. Its nice that she actually decides on the things she likes and wants to do with her life instead of just doing things because she's a princess. And its nice to see her make some good and solid decisions after reading lots of books with somewhat flakyness.

I'm really excited to read the new book that Meg Cabot is releasing in the series. I might even read the middle school princess book Meg Cabot is releasing... I know I'm too old, but I'm such a fan of the books I feel like I have to. The Middle School Princess book is released in May and the Royal Wedding book will be out in June.

So this isn't my overall favorite of the Princess Diaries Series, but I thought it was a great way to wrap up the book and tie together all the loose ends. I was really happy with it!

Byeee!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
