Scribbles about TV: 3rd week of Feb 2015

So the week started out pretty good. I watched John Mullaney's New In Town. Its really funny. Mullaney is adorable and I think his stand up is really funny. I heard little bits of it before, and I really liked it, so I watched the full thing now, and its good.

I watched some of Halloweentown, the old Disney movie... but I did get a little bored. I didn't actually finish it, I just watched up until the first commercial, so really nothing at all... but you know. Its a thing.

Comedy Central had a pretty good movie marathon on on Valentines day and I watched the tail end of it, so I saw some of the dirtier movies. I watched Mean Girls, The Hangover and for the first time I watched Zach and Miri Make A Porno. I've wanted to see that movie for a long time, but I wasn't 17 when it came out... so that didn't happen. Lol. I saw it on Comedy Central, so its basically a G-Rated version... but its okay. I liked it overall.

And then after all of those movies they had some stand up specials, so I just kept watching. They showed Amy Schumer's Mostly Sex Stuff which is one of my favorite stand up acts... if not my favorite. I love Amy Schumer, I think she's brilliant I cannot WAIT until her movie Trainwreck comes out... I'm just a big fan. I need to see her live some day. She's fantastic. After her was Whitney Cummings, and I was a little skeptical about this because she had a TV show that looked awful and I'm not the biggest Two Broke Girls fan... but I do like the overall concept of the show. Her stand up was really really funny though. She's like Bill Burr and Amy Schumer combined sort of. She's funny. Her special is called I love you and it was really funny. I need to watch it again cause I wasn't fully paying attention and I missed some parts... but it was good.

And I watched We're The Millers because my mom had on Last Vegas and it looked really stupid. They need to stop making movies where old men go to bars and talk to young girls and say "Ohhh my gosh you're so old. Thats so cool." And then they flirt with the young girls my age... its just offensive. Anyway We're The Millers was pretty good. Its not something I can watch over and over again and still find funny, but when its on I sometimes watch it and laugh. I haven't seen it for a while, so it was good.

Then I watched some Comedy Bang Bang. Their Valentine's day episode was really funny! I also watched the Nick Offerman and Lizzie Caplan episodes. Those were funny too. Really liked the Lizzie Caplan one too. Actually watched the Valentine's day one twice because it was good. I liked it.

And I watched Brooklyn 99 this week which was really quite funny. I love whenever Jake and Gina do something together, Chelsea Peretti is really funny and she's good with Andy Samberg.

And Bob's Burgers... that was probably the best episode ever! Except I think that Nick Kroll was originally the voice of the nerd and now it was Jim Gaffigan. Funny either way... just saying. Its a little weird.

I saw a bit of 60 minutes this week. I pretty much just saw the part with Bradley Cooper. I'm actually a fan of B-Coops, I think he's very talented and I'm happy for his success. I haven't seen many of his more serious roles, but he can do them and he can do things like the Hangover and Wet Hot American Summer and is good in both. Yeah. He's hot too, which I'm not mad at lol.

Speaking of Bradley Cooper... I saw him on the SNL 40th Anniversary special! It was really good! I didn't watch it live when it was on, but I watched it the next day and it was super super funny. I wish there were more sketches and less blah blah... but I felt like I finally get Fantasy Football now. Lol I totally have a fantasy SNL league.

Tina Fey,Amy Poehler, Will Ferrel, Rachel Dratch, Anna Gayaster, Kristin Wiig, Dana Carvey, Fred Armistan, Jimmy Fallon, Seth Meyers, Maya Rudolph, Andy Samberg, The Ambiguously Gay Duo, Mike Meyers, Tim Meadows... and hell why not Spade, Sandler, Farley and Gilda Radner... and Jane Curtain and Chevey Chase... and Bill Hader. And Dan Akroyd... I think thats it.Ohhh and Norm Macdonald and Daryl Hammond. Thats a lot tho lol. I feel like I quote this show daily also... as does everyone in my family. "Cheeburger Cheeburger" and "Simma Down Now" are a few my parents use a lot. My mom used to always do Rosanne Rosana Danna impressions a lot. I quote The Lonely Island quite a lot... My sister and I speak The Bush Twins Secret Language. I like the "I'm Chevy Chase and you're not" a little too much... lol. I feel like King Tut is mentioned often. Suck it Trebeck is a favorite among my friends... Theres a lot... OHhh Will Forte is funny too! And Chris Parnell. So basically most people that have been on SNL...

If I had to pick a favorite, other than Tina, Amy and Will Ferrell... Definitely Dana Carvey. He had the best sketches and characters and he's kind of my favorite. The Church Lady, Choppin Brocoli, Wayne's World, soooo many more. Dana Carvey is kind of amazing.

Jane The Virgin this week! Okay, I know whats going on now... kinda. I'm happy Petra isn't going anywhere because I kind of love her and she's amazing. And... yeah. And yeah... Jane's Baby is okay and kicking... and Jane is going to move in with Raphael.

Parks and Rec was brilliant in its penultimate hour. I like the Andy show, I love that Jerry is mayor... so did they totally ditch Ben's story cause thats a little all over the place... but everything else was pretty good. Marry Me was really funny this week too. I thought Jake's "being dead" thing was funny. I was happy they showed Jake and Annie at work cause I didn't know what they did. Lol. Michaela Watkins is also really funny and I loved her as Annie's boss. She's like the "boss lady" of comedy lol.

New Girl and Mindy were both really good too. I especially liked The Mindy Project... I'm sort of loving where this season is going. And I thought New Girl was really funny and cute too. I think Nick is going to get Jess pregnant. Quite sure thats going to happen... so they are exactly Ross and Rachel lol.

Kroll show was funny. I love that Fabrice Fabrice is back. I loved Crab Cab... I loved Liz and Liz... I missed C-Czar a lot... but I still thought the episode was amazing. Speaking of C-Czar... I want there to be a Bob Ducca show... I'm sure its about to exist... but for reals. There needs to be a Bob Ducca show.

And I watched ABC's line up of shows again. The Middle almost made me cry, cause I really wanted Sue and Derrin to work it out... and I'm so sad they didn't. I've really been liking The Goldbergs lately and I'm going to start watching it from the beginning because its a good show. Blackish was funny too... but I was most impressed with Modern Family. A few months ago one of the writers tweeted about being on a plane with the worst human being on the planet... and they had Natasha Leggereo play her this week! Amazing! Lol. I love when real life inspires comedy... which is why I like The Goldbergs so much. And I totally thought the guy that was the real life class clown turned out to be Stephen Colbert and I was dying! But it wasn't. But still!

Broad City was good this week. I loved when Abbi was stuck in the ditch and she was trying to make the picture of her face bigger. And the Dog wedding. Hannibal Buress is amazing too btw.

And Man Seeking Woman... Still an amazing show, this week was not my favorite. Its still really well done, and I love the directions its going in... but not every episode is a favorite obviously, and it wasn't mine this week. Lol.

Always Sunny was extra funny this week. Episodes like last nights always make me laugh a lot. It was good!

I watched the Shondaland TGIT Trio... Greys I half watched, but it was really good. Scandal was pretty damn awesome. And How to Get Away With Murder was really good too. Intense really! I thought it would be more shocking if Bonnie killed Lila... but its looking like someone else did it... we still don't totally know... but damn. Wes got played! Lol.

I watched the Two and a Half Men finale after hearing the really meta jokes that were in it. I have a review right here.

And I was upset about the sad news about Harris Wittels last night, so I watched a couple episodes of Parks and Rec from Last Season. I watched the Animal Control episode because its so funny when he applies for his own job that he got fired from. He always made me laugh on that show, I'm really going to miss him. I watched the Patton Oswalt episode because that was the episode right after and I thought it was funny too.

I also watched Shark Tank... and man what a fight! I feel like Lori should have let the guy talk a little more and answer some questions because... that helps the consumers that are watching the show understand it better also. So I would have liked to know that. Not that I need scholarships anymore, I'm done with school... but you know.

And I watched some different late night shows cause I kind of want to get a feel for all the late night shows because I may want to write for some of these shows. I want to get a feel for them. I also sort of want to do one of my own kind of talk show spoof. I watched Jimmy Fallon and Seth Meyers on Friday. These are good shows. I like them a lot. I need to watch more of these shows... more often. I like the bits they do. Its funny. Lol. And I liked them so much I even watched other eps on demand! Both fun shows to watch and I'll probably keep watching them from time to time... yeahhh.

And I watched the end of Ghost Rider and now I'm watching some of the Red Carpet stuff right now. And that is it! I'm going to watch the Oscars now, and next week will probably be the most exciting tv week ever!

Byeee!

Scribbles about TV: Jane The Virgin Review!

This I think is a surprise hit, so of corse I needed to watch it for myself to see! It's been getting a lot of critical buzz because it has been reviewed as "one of the best pilots of the season" and I also have been hearing a few critics saying that they don't think it will last because the word "virgin" is in the title... which is stupid. There is nothing wrong with being a virgin and if a show is good, its good and people should watch it... plus this did bring pretty high ratings for The CW so the critics that said that can suck it! Lol. Overall I really liked this show. One thing thats been bothering me a lot about the new Fall shows is that the characters aren't interesting enough. Especially the female characters. I thought that this showed a lot of really strong female characters that were interesting. This had a pretty big cast with A LOT of stuff going on for a pilot and most of the characters were female. That is a powerful thing to see on TV...

Scribbles About TV: Jane The Virgin Finale Review (SPOILERS)

So.... Can we talk about all the twists because there were a lot! I didn't even see all of them coming! Alrighty we start out in typical Jane The Virgin Mode with Jane's choice between Raphael and Michael... I'd be okay with either but I think I'm team Michael. Jane has a weird moment with Raphael and thinks she's better off without him and just having him be the father of her child. She's also starting to have some feelings for Michael again. Then she almost has the baby on the bus and some woman helps her and gets the bus driver to take her to the hospital. Rogellio and Xo are in Vegas and they get drunk and can't remember what happens, but they make it just in time to see Jane deliver a baby boy. I knew it would be a boy! Lets pause on that a little and go to Michael and his ex partner/friend with benefits who comes back says she has a lead on Sin Rostro, gives him an address where the plastic surgeon is and by the time Michael gets there, he's de...

Man Crush Monday: Jimmy Fallon

Jimmy Fallon is one of my favorite talk show hosts... and I pretty much like all the late night talk show hosts... so that is saying a lot. (I haven't actually watched James Cordin yet, but I have a huge crush on him from Into The Woods, so yeah. I also have a crush on Seth Meyer though... And all the comedy central guys... ugh. Lol. and obviously Jimmy Fallon. Lol.) So yeah... this is saying a lot that he is one of my favorites. 1) He genuinely acts like he has the most fun job in the world-  Jimmy Fallon is always really excited about the show. He pretty much does have the most fun job ever, and he actually appreciates it. He was on SNL, and when he left SNL for late night he was excited and proud of his job, and now on The Tonight Show he's very happy. 2) His Ice Cream Flavors are good- This one is completely random... but I feel like having Ben and Jerry's make an ice cream flavor after you is a really big honor and a great responsibility. You can tell a lot about a...
