First off... I want to say being single on Valentine's Day is absolutely fine. I'm super independent in relationships and I'm not currently in a relationship, and I'm not going to be here like "ohh being single sucks I want a boyfriend" cause I've been single for a bit now and there isn't anyone I've found interesting lately. I'm not going to date someone I don't want, and no one should just date to date. Date cause you like someone. It doesn't have to be a huge commitment or anything, just if you see someone interesting be like "hey you are worthy of me. Buy me dinner" because you're probably awesome if you're reading this and you deserve someone awesome. And yes, they're paying for dinner because you read it on a blog and you're classy as sh*t! Lol.
Anyway here are songs I like and why I like them.
Tove Lo-habits (stay high) this is a cool song. When I heard this on the radio I was like "ohh cool.this is a song." And that's a pretty good reaction because a lot of times I hear something gross and I'm like "this isn't even a song." Besides being a good song, it's easy to relate to doing crazy and stupid things after break ups. It doesn't just have to be getting high and drunk and going to sex clubs. It could be stalking their social media or drunk dialing them, still thinking of or talking to them could be a problem depending on how things are. Shopping or eating a lot of chocolate or junk food. Listening to too much Blink 182... There are tons of stupid things you can do. This song is good, cause you aren't the only person that's stupid after a break up. Everyone is. You aren't alone in this!
Before He Cheats by Carrie Underwood- This is just a funny song. I've never been cheated on to the best of my knowledge... But this makes me feel pretty good about what to do if I did. Chances are I'd be much worse than this and frame him for my murder (spoilers... Kind of I'm not telling you what I'm spoiling lol.) but this is what Carrie Underwood does, and it's pretty cool.
Stay With Me by Sam Smith- This isn't so much for the message of the song. I do love Sam Smith and I really like this song...but you gotta admit he's a whiny little biotch in it. If I were missing someone that was kinda clingy... This would make me miss them a little less. Lol.
Break the Sky by The Hush Sound- This is one of my favorites! The Hush Sound is a really good band and this song is just awesome. It's not like it's anti-man or like a sad break up song. It's a really positive catchy song. You shouldn't wait on anyone when you can do amazing things by yourself... And that is awesome and should be celebrated.
What's my Age Again by Blink 182- Sometimes you need to be immature and fun. If people don't understand that then it kinda sucks. Also it'll show you how immature guys are and that they're probably just being dumb idiots without you in their life. I like that I basically said 2 opposite things, but you get me lol.
Telephone by Lady Gaga- I can't not throw in a Lady Gaga song here. This may not be the break up song of choice of all of Lady Gaga's points... But it makes a good point about technology and relationships and the clingyier parts about relationships in a pretty cool way. After my first break up in high school I kind of felt relieved because this dude had been texting me like non-stop for the entire 2 weeks of our relationship lol. It was a bit of a relief to just be able to have some time to myself where I didn't have to text this other person all day and all night. And now I'm not that big of a texter in relationships and I'm also not good on the phone lol. I pretty much need to know someone for 4 years to talk to them on the phone and even then my ears are sweaty and I'm nervous inside. And I've never known any men for 4 years so that theory kind of sucks lol.
Chasing Pavements by Adele- this is a similar message that Break the Sky gives... But I felt it would be wrong not to put in an Adele song... But I didn't want a depressing one. This is an "it's cool to be single playlist" and this one seemed good for that.
So I think that's all I can think of right now. Lol. But yeah, these are songs and it's okay to break up or to be single... Sooo do that? Lol
BYEEEE!
