Throwback Thursday: Family Man starring Nicholas Cage

Remember a few weeks ago when I did a post on  movies that used to be on all the time when I was a kid?  Well this was on there- and I finally got to re-watch it as an adult... and it was wayyy better than I remember. But there are still some problems with it... so I'm going to talk about it today. One thing that kind of upset me about the movie is that it is directed by Brett Ratner... who was one of the men that was accused of sexual harassment... and it also has Jeremy Piven in the movie... who was another one of those men. So with that I was happy I didn't actually buy the movie. My boyfriend checked it out at his local library because he knew I wanted to see it. Anyway with that being said... the rest of the movie was really enjoyable. It took place in New York and New Jersey. Nick Cage's character is seen leaving his long term girlfriend to go take an internship in London- then we get a flash forward in his life and he's a powerful Wall Street Executive that s...

Throwback Thursday: Meet The Robinson's

Alright this was a really cute movie. It came out in 2007... and I wasn't super into the way it looked back then... but my cousins told me it was good and I just kind of want to see every Disney animated movie... so this was on my list... especially since it is on Netflix right now. And I do have to say... as an adult this is a very childish movie and there isn't a ton of jokes in there for adults to find amusing and entertaining. This isn't something I usually say as a critique... cause usually I do end up enjoying the movies anyway and this really wasn't meant for the parents to enjoy... it is for the kids. I did still find this funny and enjoyable but just know that this is a movie for little kids... and I feel like it might be easy for adults to fall asleep in the middle of it because it isn't the most interesting.  That being said though... I really loved this movie. The message about "Keep Moving Forward" was very sweet and it was an incredib...

Throwback Thursday: 13 Going On 30

So I watched this on VH1 around Christmas Time because it was on... they really need to bring this movie to Netflix because it's pretty fantastic and VH1 doesn't get the whole thing. I didn't catch the very beginning... but I did watch most of it from around the time when Matty gives her the Dream House... so sweet. It was a little weird to watch this movie because when it came out, I was 13 or almost 13... and now I'm closer to being 30... but I still felt more connected to the 13 year old Jenna instead of the adults in the movie. Like I'm not totally sure when I turned almost 30... but I don't like it. I'm still 13 year old Jenna who likes the same music as when I was 13 and has kind of the same style as I did then... I don't know... its just kind of a weird thing and I was freaking out a little bit from it. This is also the movie that introduced me to one of my favorite actresses, Judy Greer! I love Judy Greer, she's so funny and great and s...

Throwback Thursday: My Big Fat Greek Wedding

So I watched My Big Fat Greek Wedding... the original movie, not the sequel... and this is one of my favorite movies ever. Its the movie I watch pretty much any time its on... but its been a while since I've really sat down and watched it... so I figured I'd do that again... I was cleaning my room also, but mostly I was watching the movie and I feel like it was a little different to me. I always think thought this was a funny movie, but now I think its really relatable. Maybe because my sister just got married so I was just in a Big Fat Greek Wedding... but I watched it and I'm like "Those sort of things happen all the time!" Not just family- related... but like when she was getting Ian the Brochure's and she fell... that's so funny! And the moments between his family and her family... its just really funny. I don't know why but for some reason those were the parts that really stuck out to me in this viewing. Angelo and Nikki were really funny too....
