So I watched this on VH1 around Christmas Time because it was on... they really need to bring this movie to Netflix because it's pretty fantastic and VH1 doesn't get the whole thing.
I didn't catch the very beginning... but I did watch most of it from around the time when Matty gives her the Dream House... so sweet.
It was a little weird to watch this movie because when it came out, I was 13 or almost 13... and now I'm closer to being 30... but I still felt more connected to the 13 year old Jenna instead of the adults in the movie. Like I'm not totally sure when I turned almost 30... but I don't like it. I'm still 13 year old Jenna who likes the same music as when I was 13 and has kind of the same style as I did then... I don't know... its just kind of a weird thing and I was freaking out a little bit from it.
This is also the movie that introduced me to one of my favorite actresses, Judy Greer! I love Judy Greer, she's so funny and great and she was so wicked in this! I know she's like the perfect movie best friend... but here she was so mean and it just really worked so well! And that makes me feel old in itself. Of all the things I've seen Judy Greer in and how long I've been admiring her... this is where that started!
Also this is where I heard Thriller for the first time... which is shocking, but that's where a lot of people my age know it from. And they do the full dance, which you don't even really see in the music video because the Music Video usually gets cut off early... this doesn't! So you get to see quite a lot of the dance... and they make it look super easy and fun and it makes me want to do that dance. Lol.
Also maybe the first movie I saw Jennifer Garner in... I knew of Alias, but I was a kid when it was on, so I never watched it.. but I really liked her in this movie, and I've always kind of thought she seemed like a nice person on talk shows and things... so yeah. This was a fun movie to remind me of how much I like her and that she can play the kid and the mom.
Plus the love story is just really cute and I thought they did a good job of adding the love story in here without it being too weird.
Hope you guys liked this little Throwback!
