Scribbles About TV: A Series Of Unfortunate Events Review

I really liked this show! I liked it so much that I actually went back and watched it again! And it was still really good!

I liked the series... I didn't mind the movie that was made... but it was a little disappointing because it was just a lot to put into one movie... 3 books in 1 movie is kinda rushed feeling... but it makes sense as a Series... literally it is A Series of Unfortunate Events, it just works as a SERIES! Not so much a movie.

I loved the first episode because I'm a big fan of the Addams Family movies and Barry Sonnefield directed those and he directed the first 2 episodes... I think he directed more than that too. I just think he's really good with dark humor and this whole series is ALL about dark humor... and I love that. I thought that The Bad Beginning and The Reptile Room were really funny episodes. The Wide Window Part 2 was a little funnier... The Miserable Mill I was a little disappointed in Sir to be honest... I mentioned that in another post... I was most excited to see him because the book described him in a really cool way and he was one of my favorite characters because he was a mean guy but he wasn't the main bad guy... it was just kind of cool. And I thought they would make his appearance more similar to what it looked like in the book... and it just wasn't the same. I don't really remember Charles or anything... but I liked that book a lot and the episode just wasn't everything I was hoping for.

Neil Patrick Harris... totally perfect in this!!!! I think he's so funny and he's a really good actor playing a really bad actor. And he's the perfect amount of wicked and funny... and I like that he's kind of stupid and drunk too... you almost feel bad for him... but he's so evil and cruel that you just can't. He's just such a bad guy... but still so funny! I just thought NPH did a great job.

I liked the Lemony Snicket as a character too. I think that's something that the movie did very right and I liked that he was even more of a character in this with a backstory and connections to the Baudelaire's. I just thought that was a really clever... I didn't read all the books, I just read what the series was up to... but I didn't get that connection from the books. So that was pretty cool.

I like the "To Beatrice" at the beginning... that was always something I looked for in the books and it was exciting to see a little bit of a backstory on that... and it was just really cool. I liked how they did that.

I also liked the Mother and Father story... it was an unexpected side story that was really exciting to watch and added a lot to the show. I really liked it.

So yeah. Definitely check this out. My favorite line was "Yessica Haircut" Lol. I just thought it was funny and well done. I enjoyed it a lot at my age... I think younger and older kids would love it. It's just the most exciting thing I've seen recently. Totally loving it!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...
