Scribbles About Youtube- Starkid's Twisted: The Untold Story of a Royal Vizier

So this is something I think I'm going to do from time to time because it's something I've gained interest in again. Obviously, I've been loving musicals and I love that there is the option of watching funny musicals based on things I have an interest in for the most part right on youtube! Not on Youtube Red Even... which I hope they continue.

This is one I've wanted to see for a while... but for some reason just haven't. It's sort of like Wicked... but with the characters from Aladdin. It's Jafar's real story in Aladdin and why he is a good guy, but the story just got told wrong. And it all kind of adds up. I thought that it would be a little like something that wouldn't really add up... but I've seen Aladdin several times, and pretty recently... and it all makes sense and fits in with the story of Aladdin and other Arabian mythology that Aladdin was based off of. I thought it was just very well done.

And it's very funny... but also it has a lot of heart and it is kind of a sad story. There were so many times when I'm like "Ugh! Why don't they just listen to Jafar and see that it isn't his fault!" But in typical Starkid fashion, they don't listen to anyone that isn't attractive until they need to. He lives in "The Magic Kingdom" where they believe that everyone can just wish and get what they want as long as they're attractive... and I thought they pulled that off too because when Jafar tries to wish for things, it's a little bit harder for him.

There was an underlying theme about 2d animation vs 3d animation and the relationship and feud between Disney and Pixar. I thought that was pretty funny! It was just a different way to kind of tell that story too. That was pretty funny I thought.

And it was kind of predictable... there is a little bit of a twist with the Princess that I kind of knew was coming and I don't quite think they needed to spell it out as much as they did... but it was a very sweet way to end the play. You could really see the emotion in the different characters involved.

There was a twist with Aladdin also and that was kind of funny. They portray Aladdin as such a jerk in this that... it's just kind of funny to see what happened to him. The ending in general was just very good.

And I loved the characters too! I think my favorites were the Princess and Jafar's love interest... who isn't in the play for very long... but I think she's absolutely amazing and beautiful and for just a few seconds she brings a lot of happiness to some dark moments during the play.

So overall... highly recommend watching this! I think it's just as good as Starkid's Harry Potter musicals... really funny but also sweet and just good.

I should warn you guys though... not a kid friendly one! There is a lot of strong language... basically right in the first song, I was kind of shocked... and lots of more adult themes. I don't think I would have liked seeing Aladdin portrayed how he was portrayed in this when I was a kid. Aladdin is my favorite Prince... so this kind of bothered me a little bit!

Hope you liked this review... I think I'll be doing more of these, maybe a Throwback Thursday of the Potter Musicals because I just re-watched the first one.

Byeee!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
