Chart Chat (1.30.18)

10) Padmaavat 1st week on the charts, 4.9 Million total  This movie sounds pretty good... I haven't heard about it before! It is set in medieval Rajasthan and it is about a Sultan that is infatuated with the queen that is married to a noble king... I'm intrigued. I probably won't see this- I'm not sure if it is playing around me... but it sounds pretty fantastic! 9) Paddington 2 3rd week on the charts. 5.7 million this week, 32.1 million total   This sounds like a very cute movie. I saw a youtube video that was sponsored by Paddington... but it seemed like the parents enjoyed the movie as much as their kids... and their kids ranged in ages... so even though it was sponsored... it sounded cute and it seems like a movie that everyone could actually enjoy. 8) The Shape of Water 9th week on the charts. 5.9 million this week 37.9 million total  This received a bunch of Oscar nominations... despite it sounding... less than amazing in my opinion. Guillermo del Tor...

10) Forever My Girl (1st week on the chart. 4.7 million dollars )   I saw a commercial for this trailer this week... I said "wow this movie looks terrible... but everyone in it is attractive so I guess that's the point. I don't like Nicholas Sparks books or movies all that much. They can be a little misogynestic and unrealistic to me... everyone else seems to love them... but I just don't like it. That being said though... this is soooo low on the charts it's surprising to me. I don't think Nicholas Sparks movies have ever been an outright flop before... but this just isn't good. I don't think the movie had a strong plot... and like I said from the previews- it didn't seem to look good at all... but again- there were attractive people in it. They'll be famous in a few years. 9) Insidious: The Last Key ( 3rd week on the charts. 5.9 million this week, 58.7 total gross)  I'm surprised that this isn't doing that well in it's second...

Chart Chat (1.16.18)

Here's the top 10 movies of the week! Hope you guys like this! I'm also including some of the info about the movies and how long they've been out and how much money they made this week and how much total... so let me know what you think about that! I like doing that! 10) Darkest Hour - (8th week on the chart. 5.6 million this week, 36.8 million total)  I think this was on the charts and off the charts... but I believe with Gary Oldman's recent Golden Globe Win, plus more theaters picking it up now... it's gotten a little more buzz and is making a little bit more money because of that. Compared to the other movies this week... 36 million isn't bad... that's higher than the total that the Number 1 movie of the week has grossed in it's 4 weeks on the chart... although of corse this has been out for 8 weeks instead of just 4. I have a feeling this will jump up the charts a little more because it's getting more buzz. I think Gary Oldman is a really gr...

10) Lady Bird- Still want to see this movie. It just looks funny and a fun movie! I'm happy it's still on the charts- I think there will be some Oscar nominations for this... I think it looks like a great movie and it has a lot of great critical reviews... so I'm happy for this one! 9) Murder on The Orient Express- This one looks really good too! Great cast... really want to see it- hopefully I will get a chance too... it just looks so great! 8) The Disaster Artist- This looks great too! And I want to see it! I haven't seen all of The Room... It is a pretty fantastic terrible movie- it's just kind of hard to sit and watch. It starts out with like 30 very awkward sex scenes. I feel like I want to see it in theaters- I know it kind of has a Rocky Horror quality to it now. I think it's available on Youtube also... but they say you should watch The Room before seeing this movie. I think James Franco is a great actor and to see him playing a bad actor sounds like...

Chart Chat! 12/12/17

Heyyy guys! Here are the charts for this week! 10) Just Getting Started- This is with Morgan Freeman I think? Is Michael Kane in it too? Not sure... but anyway this looked like a movie that's been done before... not sure people are still interested in it... ohhh no... okay Morgan Freeman and Tommy Lee Jones. It's about an undercover investigation at a Golf Course. Tommy Lee Jones is a former FBI Agent- Freeman is a former lawyer to the mob that's in the Witness Protection... so this exact scenario hasn't really been done before but it doesn't sound like the best movie ever either just from the IMDB synopsis... so I can see why people would rather see something else. Idk how many theaters this is in right now... but not great for its first week on the chart. It made 3.2 million dollars... 9) Lady Bird- This looks like a great movie that I think I can relate too... not always easy to find in movies but the trailer for this speaks to me. Lol. 8) The Star- This is...

Chart Chat 12/8/17

Heyyy guys! Here's what's on the charts this week! 10) A Bad Mom's Christmas- I think this had disappeared from the charts and it's coming back for Christmas maybe? I'm not sure but I think this looks wayyy better than Daddy's Home 2 and I'm surprised it's not performing as well at the Box Office. 9) The Star- This is a cute religious cartoon with celebrity voices... I don't think I'll see it but it does look really cute and maybe if you wanted to teach your kids the story of Jesus's birth- this is a good movie. 8) Lady Bird- This looks sooo good and relatable to me. Lol. I just want to see this! 7) Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri- I like Woody Harrelson kind of sort of... but this doesn't look like my thing. Maybe... idk. I'm not planning on watching it any time soon. 6) Murder On The Orient Express- I want to see this! 5) Daddy's Home 2- I don't want to see this! I do like John Lithgow so maybe I'll...

Chart chat is moved to Fridays now? Makes sense! Here we go! 10) Jigsaw- This will probably be off the charts this weekend because... who really wants to see Jigsaw on Thanksgiving. I'm interested in what people will see this holiday weekend... my guess is Coco. But yeah! This is a movie. 9) Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri- This is about a mom... I'm presuming played by Francis McDormand and she's not happy with how the police are handling investigating her daughter's murder... so that sounds interesting. I don't know if I like Woody Harrelson or Francis McDormand who are the stars of this movie... I see Harrelson as Grace's Boyfriend from Will and Grace... or Haymitch or the guy from Zombieland... idk. 8) Lady Bird- I saw the trailer for this and it looks amazing. My kind of movie for sure. I really want to see this one! Very interesting looking. 7) A Bad Mom's Christmas- I want to see this movie too! I really like Bad Mom's and I love...

Chart Chat 11.7.17

10) Let There Be Light This is a religious movie that will likely be on the charts for weeks because people see it in Church groups... I've never heard about it before... it's about an Atheist that goes through a near death experience and then believes in Christianity. Near Death Experiences are interesting... this plot sounds kind of interesting but... it doesn't sound like much for a whole movie... There have been other movies of this variety that sound interesting and something that my mom watches even though we don't go to church... it could be very sad too... so keep that in mind. I'm excited for the movie Wonder to come out... It has Julia Roberts, Owen Wilson and Daveed Diggs, it looks like a very uplifting movie. I'll talk about it when it's on the charts... and I think I'm actually going to see the movie so I'm sure I'll have a review. 9) Only The Brave I've talked about this a few times... Firemen- Miles Teller... it sounds diff...

Chart Chat 10/31/17

Happy Halloween! Here we go with the Chart Chat... which I'm moving to Tuesday for the next few weeks! 10) It- Surprised this is on the bottom of the charts... but it still seems to be going strong for halloween! I didn't see Pennywise when I went out... I saw a couple of Twisty's though... which is strange. One Bar had a drawing of Pennywise on the menu... but I didn't see anyone dressed up as Pennywise. Just as well... that's a little too scary! 9) Suburbicon- This looks good... but I'm not too fond of Matt Damon or George Clooney right now... who knows though- they are good actors... but I can't see how something has been going on for years and they are "so shocked" about it... that's just me... but you know... this sucks lol. This hasn't gotten great reviews from what I've heard- so I think I'd rather hold out for Murder on the Orient Express for my Murder Mystery needs... but this looks good. 8) The Foreigner- I talked ab...

Chart Chat! 10/22/17

10) Kingsman: The Golden Circle- I would imagine this movie is ending it's run on the charts shortly if not by next week. I feel like there are SOOOO many great horror movies out this year that it's hard to choose this one above those movies at this time of year... but Colin Firth... so yeah. 9) American Made-  Again... I was a little surprised this never got to the top of the charts... but I'm surprised to see it on the charts for so long. I don't know too much about this movie other than Tom Cruise, Jayma Mays and the bad guy from the last year of Breaking Bad... but yeah. Again... probably wouldn't recommend this over It or Happy Death Day if you want to see a movie coming soon... but maybe this is good. 8) The Snowman- This is a horror movie that looks pretty good. Again I don't know too much about it... but I thought it looked scary and I want to see it. I'm sure reviews aren't amazing... but to me it looked interesting. 7) It- From what I und...

Chart Chat- 10.9.17

10) Battle of The Sexes- I love Emma Stone and really want to see this movie! It just looks like a good movie... I don't always like Sports movies... but I can deal with a Tennis movie lol. I kind of like tennis in movies. Maybe there will be a review of this soon! 9) Flatliners- I talked about this last week... with all the horror movies out right now- I don't think that this is one you should waste your time with. It might be more of a psychological thriller... but still- not the first pick! 8) Victoria and Abdul- My grandfather would have liked this movie and my mom wants to see it. I kind of want to see it to because 1) Who doesn't love Dame Judy Dench? 2) I miss hearing about these types of movies from my grandfather- which makes me a little more interested. 7) The Lego Ninjago Movie- I think this is the least successful Lego Movie yet. I think the original Lego Movie was on top of the charts for several weeks- same with the Lego Batman movie... I feel like this ...

Chart Chat- Clowns back on top? And other stuff (October 2nd 2017)

Alright... you can probably tell what the number 1 movie is already... but let's start with 10 anyway because who doesn't love a countdown? 10) Mother!- Probably the end of it's week on the charts... one of the worst reviewed movies of the year which is also said to be one of the most disturbing movies of the year... and while people are comparing it to Rosemary's Baby... I think it's a lot different than that and people aren't liking it very much... so if you want to catch Mother! Catch it soon in theaters... but something's telling me you can skip this one. It reminded me a bit of a couple of skits in the movie The Holidays- which was an anthology of horror movies- they had a Mother's Day story and I forget what exactly happened... but I believe it was similar... and they had a St. Patrick's Day sketch that was a little more humorous... those come to mind- I did a review on that a while ago. Wow... I reviewed this over a year ago!  here  is the l...

Chart Chat! 9.25.17

Heyyy guys! I'm a little surprised at this week's charts... I know it was a tough call what would be number 1... and I'm not that surprised at number 1... but I'm a little surprised at number 3... so I'm just going to get into it and we'll talk a little bit about these movies! 10) Wind River- This has been on the charts for 8 weeks! I don't believe it's ever been at number 1 in those 8 weeks... it sounds okay but it could also maybe be bad IMHO... I'll watch it on TV if I get super bored...but I'm not that interested. 9) Stronger- This movie does sound very interesting. Jake Gyllenhaal has already got some Oscar Buzz for this role ... I want to see this. It looks sad though but the actors are very talented and I think they'll do a great job with it! This is based off of a true story- I mentioned that in the weekly Pop. This still isn't wide released... so I think it will do a lot better in upcoming weeks. 8) The Hitman's Body Gu...

Chart Chat 9.15.17- 9.17.17

Not much surprise here... but let's keep on going! 10) Dunkirk-  9 weeks on the top ten isn't too bad! I think this is going out of theaters and onto DVD and streaming services pretty soon... so I'm excited for that. I've talked about this movie for the past nine weeks... so you know my feelings. I'm going to watch it eventually... but yeah! 9) Spider Man: Homecoming-  Again... I've talked about this movie for the last 11 weeks... so you should know how I feel about this as well. I love Spider Man... I'm excited to see this... but yeah. Not something I saw... just didn't get to movies this year... I really don't go often... I love going to movies... I don't know many other people that really do and it's expensive and time consuming... so it kinda is what it is... but yeah- Spider Man is great and I like it! I'll see it on TV! 8) Leap!-  This looked cute... if I see this on TV and remember to watch it- I'll let you know how I feel ...

Chart Chat 9.11.17- Clowns save the Box Office????

So... you can probably  guess the number 1 movie by the title of this... but I thought it was important. I mentioned last week it was the lowest Labor Day Weekend at the Box Office... and it's been the lowest summer in a while... I've personally only seen one movie this summer... but yeah. This R rated Horror Remake did really well! 10) The Emoji Movie-  Still on the Charts! This did better last week than the previous week it was out. I think this is a fun idea for a cartoon about emojis... I don't think this has quite the appeal they were hoping for. With something like Wreck It Ralph- people my age like to see it... with something like this... I'm not dying to see it. I probably will because I love cartoons... but it isn't something I was crazy about seeing... I don't think a lot of parents really wanted to see it. 9) Logan Lucky- I think this movie has Channing Tatum in it... I've talked about it before on Chart Chats... I don't think I need to fu...

Chart Chat 8.11-8.13.17

Alright! Let's jump in here! No real surprises this week... the #3 movie surprised me a little bit... but we'll get to that! 10) Atomic Blonde- Charlize Theron looks really awesome and badass in this summer action movie. The budget for this was 30,000,000... which honestly isn't that high for an Action movie. In the US It's made 42 million so far... I'm guessing it's slowly leaving theaters now... and I think it'll do really well worldwide. I thought this would do a little better... but it isn't the biggest movie out there and I don't think it had the critical praise of something like Baby Driver... which was a surprise hit and was out for quite a while. I'd still like to see this one. 9) The Glass Castle- I think this got relatively "meh" reviews... it didn't sound like that bad of a movie to me though... and there are quite a few stars in it. Brie Larson, Woody Harrelson... I'm a fan of both of them... kind of sort of I gu...

Chart Chat 7.24.17

Alrighty! I'm a little surprised by this week's top movie... not even going to lie... I didn't know who the director was though... so that might have something to do with it also... I thought something else that opened would be number 1... and it's number 3... so that says something! Let's just get right to it! 10) Wish Upon- 2nd week on the charts... and the last week I'm guessing. This was lower than I thought it would be last week...but higher than the bottom of the charts. I feel like the name is confusing... and somewhat gramatically incorrect. You shouldn't end the title of a movie with a preposition, right? It's just weird. Also if you told me "Ohhh do you want to see 'Wish Upon' this weekend" I would think you meant a movie about Cinderella... not a horror movie... so I can see why this is doing so badly. Lol. 9) Wonder Woman- Ohhh wow! Number 9 for Wonder Woman... that has been in the top 5 for most of the summer... I'm...

Chart Chat 7.11.17

To the movies!!! 10) The Beguiled-  This looks scary... and I mentioned this last week. I think I want to see this with my sister... probably when it comes out on DVD or Blu Ray because... it's something she would like too... I'll have to ask her if she read the book. I love Sophia Coppola as a director... and I think this movie just looks good. 9) 47 Meters Down-  I've talked about this before... I don't have a lot to say about it... but it sounds exciting and I want to see it because I like Mandy Moore. I could watch her in just about anything... she's fantastic... this seems like a more intense movie for her- and I'm excited to see her in that kind of role. 8) The Big Sick-  I'm surprised this is so high on the charts considering that it hasn't been released worldwide yet... this looks great! I really want to see this... I might see it on Friday. It's Kumail Nanjiani's real life story. Michael Showalter is awesome and he is directing it......

Chart Chat: 7.2.17

Alrighty! I saw the number one movie of the week this week... and I have thoughts of the other movies... so I'm excited to share this Chart Chat with everyone! 10) Pirates of The Carribean: Dead Men Tell No Tales- 6 weeks on the top 10 list... not too bad for the end of the series... presumably. I think Johnny Depp has a lot of fun with these movies, and they're doing really well... so I'd be a little surprised if this was the end of these. I don't think this is the highest grossing POTC... but I'm guessing it'll still do really great worldwide. 9) The Mummy- 74.5 million in the US so far and it's 4th week on the charts... not great considering the budget of the movie was 125 million. It'll do really well worldwide... and I think that's how the rest of the Universal Dark Universe will be... unless they strike gold with The Invisible Man... which I could see happening and I kind of hope it does. I'd be more excited if they kind of embraced the...

Chart Chat 6.26.17

Alrighty! Let's see what's number 10... and then what's number 1. With the other numbers in the middle! 10) Guardians of The Galaxy Volume 2- Ughhhh I wanted to see this movie! I thought I'd see it this weekend... life happened so I didn't see it but I hope it's on DVD soon because I don't think I'll see it before it goes out. If I see any movie it'll be Despicable Me 3... and idk if I'll see that... so yeah. 9) Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie- This looks funny. This was another one that I was kind of surprised by... similar to the new Smurfs movie... I thought this would be a little bit more popular than it was. I can see why it wasn't... but it looks like a fun story of Friendship and it just looks fun! 8) Rough Night- Idk about this one... hasn't been doing to well on the charts either... so I'm guessing a lot of people were like "nahhh... I'd rather see The Mummy." Which is a little shocking to me... b...
