Chart Chat 9.11.17- Clowns save the Box Office????

So... you can probably  guess the number 1 movie by the title of this... but I thought it was important. I mentioned last week it was the lowest Labor Day Weekend at the Box Office... and it's been the lowest summer in a while... I've personally only seen one movie this summer... but yeah. This R rated Horror Remake did really well!

10) The Emoji Movie- Still on the Charts! This did better last week than the previous week it was out. I think this is a fun idea for a cartoon about emojis... I don't think this has quite the appeal they were hoping for. With something like Wreck It Ralph- people my age like to see it... with something like this... I'm not dying to see it. I probably will because I love cartoons... but it isn't something I was crazy about seeing... I don't think a lot of parents really wanted to see it.

9) Logan Lucky- I think this movie has Channing Tatum in it... I've talked about it before on Chart Chats... I don't think I need to further discuss it too much. It seemed okay not great... Idk.

8) Dunkirk-I'm a little surprised this movie is still on the charts. I'm wondering if there is Oscar Buzz around it... I feel a little out of touch with these movies now... which is sad. My grandfather used to go to the movies every week and he is no longer with us... so a lot of these on the charts I'd usually have some sort of "real person" review for and now I don't... and that makes me sad.  For some reason I thought this was on Demand already and it's still in theaters... maybe I'm wrong about that... but it seems to be coming soon.

7) Spider Man: Homecoming- This movie looks good. I like Spider Man... he might be my favorite superhero of the moment because Batman Movies keep letting me down... I do love Deadpool though. Anyway yeah. Spider Man is good. I want to see this.

6) Leap! (aka Ballerina)- I'm surprised this is so high on the charts... I'm guessing the star studded voice cast for the American version of this might have something to do with it? Maddie from Dance Mom's is in the movie... I think she's a pretty big deal for girls who do dancing... so maybe this movie is kind of a big deal. It sounds cute and fun... I'm a little interested in it!

5) Wind River- I think I made fun of this movie at first saying "eh I don't like Jeremy Renner." I still don't really think he's a good actor... but this movie sounds interesting. It reminds me of Witness with Harrison Ford though... and I know that movie is supposed to be really good... but has anyone watched it? It is pretty awful. Anyway... yeah this movie looks interesting. I'll watch it some day.

4) Annabelle: Creation- This is the second scariest movie out right now... I'm guessing. I think I would probably be more scared of this movie than It because Dolls scare me more than clowns... and from what I've heard- the Original It is scarier than this new one... and I didn't think the original was that scary... so... I'm curious about that... but anyway... this looks scary! I've never seen the Original Annabelle movie or The Conjuring... I feel like I'm just going to wait and watch this one first because I'd rather see the origin story first and then the others... but idk! If something is available now... I might just watch it. I think I'll watch some horror movies for Throwback Thursdays... that kind of changes my plans a little... but idk. Maybe I'll do that. Lol.

3) The Hitman's Body Guard- So this looks good. Ryan Reynolds is Samuel L Jackson's body guard... I can't see how this movie goes wrong. The plot of Samuel L Jackson needing a body guard already interests me. He's pretty badass. Lol.

2) Home Again- Reese Witherspoon Rom Com.... this looks really boring to be COMPLETELY honest... but I think Reese Witherspoon is such a good actress she can give this movie some life... but it still looks like a boring movie to me. I really liked her movie with Sophia Vegara though... it sounded terrible... but I really thought it was good. I've seen it multiple times. I think Reese could make this movie pretty fantastic. I wonder if this movie is so high on the charts because It is an R rated movie... I wonder if people are buying tickets for this movie and sneaking into It... idk if it works that way anymore... I know when I was 17- I don't have a Driver's License and I didn't always carry an ID around so I had a hard time getting into R rated movies. So... that might not be the way to get into R rated movies anymore... idk. I heard on How Did This Get Made the movie Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles made a lot of money because people bought tickets for it and snuck into see Freddy Got Fingered... so idk. I'm always suspicious when there's a relatively unexciting movie so high on the charts the same week as an R rated movie.

1) IT- Now the moment you've all been waiting for: It! I feel like I've already said everything I wanted to say about this movie... but I guess I can still say some more. Interestingly enough- according to Box Office Mojo- last year the movie Don't Breathe was number 1 last year... so 2nd year in a row for this weekend having a horror movie as number 1. The year before that was something called War Room- I've never heard of that movie... but I think it may also be a horror movie. Tis the season for some horror movies- not quite Halloween- but We're getting ready for it... end of summer is a great time for horror movies too... I just think this seems to be the time for it.

I think this movie has also taken a while to be made... I think there was a casting change for Pennywise. I believe it was originally supposed to be the kid from We're the Millers... now it's someone from the Skarsgard family... He seems like a better fit but I think the We're the Millers kid would have been good also... it is what it is. From what I'm hearing he isn't trying to be Tim Curry and that's good. No one can be Tim Curry. BTW I'm using the word "kid" to describe them... I know that Skarsgard is a year older than me... I think the guy from We're The Millers is also... but idk. I'll just kind of leave it at that. I'm super young and hip still... lol.

But yeah. This kind of saved the worst Summer for the Box Office in Years. And with September usually not showing the best movies... I think this will be on the charts for a while... maybe it will make a comeback in October... idk!

And that is everything! Let me know what you thought of It, especially compared to the original since I didn't love the original... it didn't scare me much... but I still want to see the remake because I have seen the original!

Byeee!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
