Throwback Thursday: Taylor Swift Red

After watching the new Taylor Swift Music video (review here) I thought I would go back and listen to some of her older songs like I did with Lady Gaga. I think I've listened to all of Taylor's cds at least once through... I know I didn't listen to her first cd and I don't think I've heard 1989 more than once... but still... I know the songs and I think she's talented! Definitely have some issues with her reactions to a joke Tina Fey and Amy Poehler made... but still. She's talented and she seems to appreciate her fanbase a lot... so that's great!

Red was somewhat mentioned in the music video also... and that's what made me interested in starting here. Taylor Swift is really proud of the album and I think it's her best so far. It was still pretty country... but a good amount of pop to it too. Taylor is a great pop singer- but I think she does best with Country... I'm not a big fan of country music... but that's kind of why I like Taylor Swift... and even Lady Gaga's Joanne... its not too country but it's just enough. And I like that.

Anyway the only thing I have to say about this album... I think the radio killed it a little for me... I really liked the song 22 before it was on the radio... Same with I knew you were trouble. I didn't really like We are Never Getting Back Together to begin with... I'm never the hugest fan of singles... but there were 3 on this I think... which is less than other cds I think... idk. For some reason I thought there were more. Not my favorite songs... 22 was at one point though... but now it's a little meh.

I really like the first few songs on this cd. The 3 before I Knew You Were Trouble kind of set the tone of the cd for me... and I think they're just really good. State of Grace is an awesome opening song. Red is just such a dreamy song, it really makes me think of someone just asking her what it's like to be dating so and so and she just kind of goes into this dreamy sort of explanation about all the good things and the bad things... I just really love it! Treacherous is a great song to have before "I knew you were trouble." It kind of goes together.

Stay Stay Stay is another one of my favorites. Underrated song, its kind of just a fun one. It's cute! I like it a lot.

She also has a couple of songs with other people in them... and they're both great. The Last time is with the lead singer of Snow Patrol I believe... I forgot about that- but it is definitely a favorite and a total highlight on the cd. Also the one with Ed Sheeran, Everything Has Changed... What a great song! I think that's what got me really liking Ed Sheeran!

All Too Well is a fan favorite I guess too... which is a great song. The original version of All Too Well was 10 minutes long- but she had to cut it down... and fans really want to hear the unreleased version... and there is speculation it will be released on Reputation... so that will be fun to review. Maybe I'll make some comparisons!

The last song on the cd is really sweet and memorable also. The whole cd is about heartbreak and the last song is about "beginning again" and falling in love again... and that's just so cute. Something that you should listen to after a heartbreak... it is very sweet and encouraging. I believe this might be a reference to her relationship with Conor Kennedy after her relationship with Jake Gyllenhaul... not really sure but that relationship didn't work out... but it seems to be one of her more tame breakups... so there's that? Not really sure but I still like the song a lot!

I think that's everything I have to say about that! I'll probably listen to this one in full before the new one comes out... just to kind of compare. Unless one of the other cds ends up being my favorite... but I think it'll be this one still!

Byeee!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
