The Lady Gaga Concert Experience!

Soooo... just got back from my Gaga concert Extravaganza weekend and I have a lot of thoughts and feelings... I also have a massive headache... which is slowly going away... but I just want to write. I'll probably post other things from the trip and something about Taylor Swift's new video because I'm a little shook from it... and I don't really like the song... but I've listened to most of Taylor's other albums in full at least once... so I feel like I'm a bit of a fan.

Anyway back to Lady Gaga... She didn't have an opening act- she started about a half hour late- these were the first things my dad and sister asked me... so the tickets were for 9:30 and she went on at 10. There was a DJ before her. We went to Citi Field... and they had Cookie Dough and tons of food that all smelled really good. They actually have a Shake Shack in the stadium there- we ate before... there's a lot that you can do at Citi Field... I may have had a cookie dough scoop... I may or may not have regretted it... lol.

But the concert itself was absolutely amazing. She played a really good mix of songs from all her albums... I think there was only 1 from Art Pop(Applause)_ ... she did Just Dance, Pokerface and Lovegame from The Fame. She did Alejandro and Bad Romance from The Fame Monster... and then a bunch from Joanne and Born This Way. She opened with Diamond Heart from Joanne and ended with A Million Pieces. It was really great. She played Scheibe from Born this way... which was the most surprising song I think. I was expecting pretty much all songs from Joanne... but she really did pick a lot of my favorites. I think Brown Eyes, Teeth and Hair were the only favorite songs of mine that she didn't play. I was a little surprised she didn't play Grigio Girls and Sinner's Prayer from Joanne. I really like Grigio Girls and I think Sinner's Prayer would have fit in really nicely with the songs she played at the beginning.

Ohhh she also played Telephone... she didn't ask me to come onstage and sing the Beyonce part... which I guess is okay. I mean I was a little offended, but I guess she didn't want me to upstage her or anything. It makes sense.

I thought Applause was really fun to watch live. That's one of my favorite singles from Lady Gaga and I never really listen to it because Artpop is my least favorite album... but It's really cool to see live... the energy was real with that one. Everyone was giving her the thing that she loves! I was doing the moves with her... really need to just learn that dance. Lol.

She talked to the crowd a lot too... she would kind of give the meaning behind each song and talk a little bit about it and it was really emotional and she seemed very down to earth. She was pretty in touch with who she is now and who she was back then too... which is important to me. That's something I kind of dig or hate in the new Taylor Swift video. She pays homage to the "previous Taylors" and it's kind of in a negative way- as if she is denouncing them and saying they aren't part of who she is... when I believe they still are. Idk. There are parts of me that I don't like that much either... but I can't say I'm a different person than I was then... I have to accept that person and love that person too because otherwise I can't really love myself that wholly, can I?

That got deep and off topic... lol. Anyway uhhh Angel Down... another one of my favorite songs and one of my favorite performances for the night.... definitely my favorite costume. She wore a hat with a feather on it and a coat with all the names of her songs on them... I wish they sold this coat or that I could find a picture online and see it because that is pretty amazing. Maybe I'll do a post on that some day because that was awesome. I don't think Angel Down was the first song she sang in this outfit... but I thought it made sense and that it seemed really meaningful... I think that's what she wore during the song. She wore it while she sang Joanne- pretty sure of that. There were a lot of amazing costume changes... but I'm a sucker for Lady Gaga songs and I love how much she loves all the songs I love... if that makes any sense. She just really put a lot of thought and time and work into these songs and they mean just as much to her true fans as they do to her.

And hey- if you're creating something like that where even just one person connects to it on the same level you do... you're doing something right. Doesn't matter what it is... maybe someone out there really loves Ren and Stimpy the way I love Lady Gaga... then the people that made Ren and Stimpy are doing something right... lol. I think this is the silliest show I could think of to relate to it. But like with all the reactions to the Taylor Swift video... that's kind of a thing too! If fans are as passionate about something as the creator they've done something right... and I feel like Gaga had a whole stadium of people that could support that thought.

So... It was just a really magical night. I felt really inspired and kind of encouraged after seeing it. I feel like we're best friends that have talked for years... I feel like my friends and I just kind of hung out with her this week. I keep thinking it was the weekend... it wasn't it's just 2 days in the week... so it felt like a long weekend or something. I don't know if I said weekend in the post at all... like I said- tired- headaches kind of gone away... but I just want to write.

Anyway... hope you guys love this or can see her someday. It was expensive... but honestly probably my favorite concert I've ever seen... I'd see her again in a heartbeat!

Byeee!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
