Will and Grace Reboot Review

Sooo I feel like its hard to give my favorite show from back in the day a negative review... and that's not to say I would give it a negative review if I could... but there are maybe some things that I didn't think were the best for the show. I would say it isn't a perfect show... but it is what you need it to be.

Oddly enough, my main concern going into the show isn't something I'm actually concerned about after watching it. My main concern before the show aired was that it didn't pick up where the show left off. Will and Grace didn't have children and they were no longer with their spouses that they ended up with on Will and Grace. That was addressed early on in the episode in a way that didn't really bother me. I'm not really thinking of this series as a continuation of the original show... I think it's Will and Grace but in 2017 instead of the 90s/2000s. And honestly... we really need that. Just so much has happened and it just makes sense to have your favorite show back on... especially when that show had a lot of pop culture references and political politics that go perfectly with the show.

The episode definitely recycled an old episode from the original series. In the original series there is an episode where Grace decides to redesign a Nursing Home for free because Will takes a job working for charity and quits his firm. Grace then gets a job to redesign for Will's "old" firm... only to find out that Will actually still works there. And they don't tell each other this because the other one was so proud of them... this episode had the same plot- but with a 2017 post Trump/Clinton election theme.

I know everyone doesn't like watching shows about politics... but this show was always kind of about politics... so yeah. Also the whole reason for the comeback is because they did an ad for voting and that got a lot of views... so they wanted to kind of incorporate that in the show... also EVERY DAMN COMEDY HAS MADE FUN OF POLITICS FOR YEARS... GET OVER IT! Lol. I'd probably feel differently if the show was politically biased towards the other side... but yeah.

Anyway... I also find it amazing that James Burrows directed every episode of the original series and I think he's directing every episode in this series too... I think that is part of why Will and Grace was so successful to begin with. The show was originally going to be a different show about a large group of friends and 2 characters were a straight woman and her gay roommate... but that later changed to just focus on those characters- who became Will and Grace. This concept had probably been abandoned before the pilot that aired was written and shot... but in the first episode of that it seemed like they were JUST trying to get that concept straight... and I think Jim Burrows really helped the characters flow a little better and the show just worked a lot better because of him... so I'm sure this revamp will also flow a little better because he's back with it and I think he's directing every episode again... so I think that's going to be a good thing. It flowed a little better because of him already and I think it will get better as everyone gets into their rolls.

I think that's everything I want to mention... I didn't love it the way I love the original series but I love that it's back. I would recommend it if you watched the original series... I may recommend it more if you didn't watch the original series because it might be better that way. Lol.

Byeee!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
