Scribbles About Food: Brennan's Review

So Brennan's is a Local Steakhouse near me... and now I like steak... so I thought I would review.

I ordered the Filet Mignon with a baked potato. It also came with a salad... I wasn't really expecting it to come with a salad or a side. The Menu doesn't mention that entrees come with a side or a salad- it just shows the different types of Steak, Seafood, or Chicken you can order and then it gives a list of sharable sides you can order... so I was going to share a side with my parents... but instead- they let you pick out a side for yourself and a salad... which I guess is a good thing- but it was just a little unexpected.

Let's start with the salad. I ordered the mixed green salad with the balsamic... it was really tasty! It came with a nice size tomato... I didn't feel like a tomato that night- so I gave it to my mom... but she said it was really good and it looked nice and juicy. The balsamic was nice, they put just the right amount on the salad... and the mixed greens just tasted delicious and fresh and yummy. It was just a really good salad!

Next I'll talk about the baked potato... it was really yummy and fluffy. It wasn't my favorite baked potato in the area though... there's a restaurant in Highlands called Bahr's... they have AMAZING baked potatoes. They're huge and fluffy and just really yummy. It came with a good amount of Sour Cream also... it was really good... but not quite as good as Bahrs.

And the Steak... also really good and flavorful. They asked if we wanted steak sauce... I said no... I should have maybe said yes... I really like Steak Sauce and it was a little bit dryer than the Moonstruck steak that I tried. The Moonstruck came with butter... so I think that had something to do with it... Either way both were really good... I would maybe recommend Moonstruck over Brennan's but it's really good!

Moonstruck tends to get really busy if you don't get there early... Brennan's is a little less busy... so if you're too late for Moonstruck Brennan's is a good option- if you wanted steak. I've had other food from Brennan's also... but I don't remember how it was... but I remember liking it.

We didn't get dessert from Brennan's... the steak was pretty filling and they didn't have many options for dessert. They had cheesecake and ice cream... we just got Starbucks for dessert instead.

Anyway- I just thought I'd do this little review. It was a little bit more filling than Moonstruck I think... not quite sure how... I did eat more at Moonstruck... but idk it was just really filling and yummy at Brennans too.

So that is everything. Hope you guys found this useful!

Bye!
-Shannon

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
